May 2010 edit

Welcome and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test on the page Phonology worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox instead. Thank you. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:26, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia pages, even if you intend to fix them later. Such edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:53, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about the above accusations of vandalism. Usually at Wikipedia, when someone replaces the name of a well-known person with their own name, it's vandalism, and those of us who patrol Wikipedia articles for vandalism sometimes have a knee-jerk reaction. But I've doubled-checked and you're right: Geoffrey Pullum is not a phonologist, and Geoffrey Nathan is. Thanks for correcting this, and please don't let this unpleasant first interaction put you off editing Wikipedia in the future! +Angr 19:29, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
My apologies for that. As Angr pointed out, your edits fit a certain profile and I made the assumption that your edits were vandalism. My sincere apologies and I hope this doesn't turn you from editing in the future. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:39, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
