Thanks a bunch, and good luck with your call :). Why ten years? I know it takes a bit longer over there, but I thought my six-year process was long! That being said I'm a legal history student - in the 18th century the Call took twelve years minimum, and longer if you wanted to be allowed to practice in certain courts. I'm actually already a student barrister at Gray's Inn (switched from Lincoln's a few months ago after a seminar at Gray's drew my attention to the excellent facilities) and eventually I do hope to take silk, although I'm not sure if that's what you meant :P May I bring you in on something, by the way? We at Wikiproject:Law are going to hopefully draft a guideline on the notability of cases and judicial figures over the next few days/weeks. When I get something started, would you mind chipping in your two cents? The more reasonable and legal eyes on a legal discussion, the better it can get, imo. Feel free to suggest anything we should expand the guideline to contain as well (any other elements of the legal/judicial profession. I can't think of any at the moment). I think there are instructions at AfD. My memory says that you add a link on each of the pages up for discussion and then there's a template allowing you to list the articles at the AfD itself. Ironholds (talk) 19:56, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Ahh, you're a bit behind me. Yes, I'm doing a masters as well - these days you need that and more to get ahead. The proposal isn't yet up in any suggested form, but feel free to suggest changes/additions to what we're throwing around. Ironholds (talk) 20:17, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
My personal advice would be to avoid signing up for that until the day you decide that teaching is certainly what you want to do and bugger the bar, otherwise that's a lot of debt to rack up for a minuscule professional advantage. Ironholds (talk) 20:25, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Heh, well you've got a long time to decide :). Good luck with it all! Ironholds (talk) 20:28, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
