Worker policing

edit

That looks great to me! If you want to start an article in the future, I recommend not saving until you have content or using your sandbox. Cheers!

Oh! One thing you might consider doing is linking to your article from relevant places like Hymenoptera under "See also". heather walls (talk) 04:51, 11 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Overall it looks good - I don't see any problems; although I'm not omnisentient. Compare to the deleted version, which had exactly zero content; contentless articles are deleted because we find red links encourage article creation much better than contentless articles. I don't see any cause for deletion in the current article, if that's your concern. It was missing categories, I added Category:Hymenoptera which seemed appropriate, but there's probably a few others that're appropriate. Let me also draw your attention to Template talk:Did you know, where you can suggest a hook for newly created articles so they appear in the "Did you know?" section of the front page - note that you only have a few days to do that. Any other questions, please feel free to ask. Cheers, WilyD 06:51, 11 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Well, I wasn't sure how likely you were to be back online in the next couple days, so I went ahead and nominated it, see here. Feel free to suggest a better hook or whatnot. Cheers, WilyD 08:17, 12 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Worker policing

edit

I took a look at the article and there's only 1 minor issues with regards to WP:WEASEL. Here's the one that I found:

  1. "Although early theories of worker policing focused on the kin selection component, recent evidence from honey bees suggests enforced altruism plays a role."
    Define "recent".

Also, I would recommend you to fix the reference format as there appears to be numerous types used (from proper ones to bare links). A properly formatted one would be reference #2. OhanaUnitedTalk page 18:30, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Chacma baboon

edit

Hi, thanks for helping out at Chacma baboon. I've marked the lead as completed (no doubt it could do with a bit more polish, but...). There remain some uncited claims which I think need fixing before the article can move to GA status. If you can help, or find the people who could, that would be much appreciated. Your GA nomination of Genome-wide association study

edit

The article Genome-wide association study you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold  . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within 14 days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Genome-wide association study for things which need to be addressed. — James Estevez (talk) 02:41, 18 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invite to the African Destubathon

edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 55 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African wildlife articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance. If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing any article related to a topic you often work on, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Might be a good way to work on fleshing out articles you've long been meaning to target and get rewarded for it! Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:55, 13 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
