I don't think my name is offensive. Whether an individual event will be labelled a genocide is controversial, but the concept of genocide is not. Genocide itself is abhorrent, but the word is not offensive. The policy doesn't say referencing something negative is enough to be a violation.Geneocide (talk) 20:17, 24 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

My thinking is that if referencing a controversy is a violation, and names intended to provoke emotional reaction are also violations, then a name that references something so abhorrent that it is likely to cause emotional reaction, eaven if not intentional, would also be a violation, but only an admin would really be able to decide this.
