Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Clara Byrd Baker

Hey there, I'm following up with you regarding your recommendation in the above referenced deletion discussion. The article as initially presented was about a nonnotable elementary school where the article creator removed the PROD. Generally, I am the first person to redirect schools that fail the notability criteria, so my recommendation would have likely been to redirect as standard outcome. However, while working on a separate article, I ran across some information on the namesake of this school, Clara Byrd Baker. When I saw that an article with her name was up for deletion, I was surprised to see that it was about the school. Opting for an alternative choice to deletion, I have made a major revamp to the article to focus on the person, rather than the school. Accordingly, I am requesting that you take a second look at the article to ascertain its viability. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions. Civello tipoff

Thanks. For reference, if nothing checks out, I'd say put the speedy up yourself. I'll look to find where I can report an obvious vandalism-only account. --Lenin and McCarthy | (Complain here) 20:34, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

Coordinates

Hey there, help a girl out? What is your "go to" source or tool to find coordinates? Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 01:59, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

Variable Length Flexible Stylus

Noteability The subject of Silverpoint drawing has "gained sufficiently significant attention by the world at large and over a period of time"[1 An integral part of the medium is the drawing instrument; a stylus of silver is as the violin bow is to the violin. Its historical characteristics are stated by [1] and contemporary studies appear in [2]. There is only evidence referring to an inflexible stylus.

Wikipedia defines notable topics—those that have gained sufficiently significant attention by the world at large and over a period of time. Silverpoint drawing was the training technique of the Renaissance artist for nearly 250 years. It is part of the history of art, taught and practiced to this day requiring the highest level of drawing skill[3]. [4].

Wikipedia states "If the source material exists it will not decrease the subject notability". A variable length flexible stylus has no precedent and therefore no prior documentation. A discovery would not be a discovery if there were prior documentation.

The properties of the VLFS are based on the laws of physics of potential energy which states the energy stored by an object as a result of its position or the position of its parts is potential energy. In this case, extending the tip of the flexible stylus from it's holder results in a loss of potential energy at the tip and resulting lighter line. Mitchsdiamond (talk) 16:02, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

The following is background on the discovery for the editors.

The VLFS together with a further discovery solves the enigma of the limited range of values [5] in silverpoint drawing. This United States patent is solely intended to educate and protect the discovery as an American contribution to the field of fine art that had its roots in Europe.

While the discovery of the formula was born directly out of the event of 9-11, an event that changed the world, the discovery is forever linked to American history and the history of art. A contemporary discovery is not the basis to deprive the public of this knowledge without having to disclose how the discovery came about. Mitchsdiamond (talk) 01:13, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Supermodelo 2011

Hello Gene93k hope you are well ... I have also looked into the Supermodelo 2011 page and i do also think it is fake. Also on the Top Model series page with the list of countries have a Top Model i noticed a Costa Rica's next top model and the winner was the same name as this Miike Hidalgo ... Co-insidence??? Also the international destination for Supermodelo 2011 was Costa Rica ... so what i think is that this Miike Hidalgo is from Costa Rica and he is just make random fake pages with his name on

Beatrice Power Station

I note that you added categories as well as the copyright violation tag. I only split the article from another article and I am in no position to improve the article. Unless you are interested in improving the article, I would be inclined to just delete it. It is a blatant copy of the power station's site. Op47 (talk) 18:24, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

amile waters

the last page of Wikipedia page of amile waters was not supported by articles like the one that is currently up. im not seeing your interest at all to request a speedy delete, when fact are proven and referenced. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TitansGrl85 (talkcontribs) 19:02, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

SM City Olongapo

Hello, you recently reverted my edits. May I know the full reason why? The mall will open within 10 Days so the article has to be there already. SM City San Fernando already has an article but it will open on March, why can't Olongapo have it? --War1addict (talk) 12:24, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

Earth's Children series

It would be a shame to lose the information on this great series of historical fiction novels by Jean Auel. The information on the locations taking place in the stories only serves to enhance the reader's enjoyment of the books. It would be a shame to waste the interesting and accurate knowledge recorded herein. Please reconsider possible deletion of this information and leave it as is.

Thank you.

Firewood Processor

Gene93k, Thank you for fixing the naming convention. I didn't realize that my operands "" would remain part of the title. Logged in to start figuring out how to change that myself and found you'd already done that for me. Thanks again! Scott Salveson (talk) 00:19, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Deletion sorting in Clear Books AfD

Hello! I noticed that you added {{delsort}} for the third time in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Clear Books (3rd nomination). Please stop doing that, as I already listed it in this edit and added to list of Software-related deletion discussions in this edit. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk) 17:51, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

A kitten for you!

You do a good job with making sure the AfD noms are listed under the correct category. This is a thankless job but extremely useful in terms of making it easier to respond to them. (And it took me a while to realise you weren't nominating them all, which is hugely embarrassing.) Anyway, fantastic work in this area.
