E.U. "If ranked" edit

I am not trying to further an USA-centric POV on the E.U. page, but I do think that American english should be used since this is an American website. Also it does not make sense giving the E.U. ranks that it does not have and belong to real countries. Daniel 23 February 2007

Also I was/am trying to help wikipedia by fixing a information box that somebody messed with but every time I try to fix the info box it gets deleted. User:Daniel Chiswick 23 February 2007

Colbert and University of Missouri edit

Hi Gerardo, As a student at the University of Missouri - Rolla, I think it's important his nomination be mentioned on his Wikipedia entry. His campaign and nomination is gaining much traction on campus and has a possibly of winning. Where can we mention this honor? I think it noteworthy mention as proof of his influence among college students. Thank you.

What, you don't think that The Honorable Stephen Colbert is a well-intentioned, nicely informed, high-status genius who is inspired by fake personalities, particularly Bill O'Communist? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 151.196.183.248 (talk • contribs).

Minis Tirith edit

Dear Gdo01, I was the guy who made "vandalsim" concerning Minas Tirith. I just can't find out why. I posted that Minas Tirith is 1.1km² big in the movies and accord ing to the Lotr: Weapons and Warfare that't true. Infact the city is bigger than in the books because Fonstad writes that the whole city has a diameter of 3100 feet ( not only the first level). I also made some changes concerning the battle of the pelennor fields. If there were just 3000 gondorians in the city during the siege that would mean that the normal garrison was just 200 men strong because tolkien mentions that 2800 men came from the south (including those from Dol Amroth) In the movie 20 mumakil fight in the battle(according to Lotr: Weapons and Warfare) So I just can't understand why you call me a vandal, Sincerely, Lukmat 16

Ps: I'm sorry for my horrible English.

Hisagi edit

Well I was changing this true article for Hisagi Shuhei and he removed it about the birthday, It has been proofing right that Hisagi's birthday is on the 21st of Novemeber and the war thing was only for my friend as a joke I was going to change it back ASAP And after I got that message about that I got mad and made that for my girlfriend

"LUKMAT 16" edit

Ok sorry I suppose you're right I just want to point out that Minas Tirith is not smaller in the movies than in the book. I just want to repeat what I've already wriiten. Fonstad says in the Atlas of Middle-Earth that the whole city has diameter of 3100 feet, not just the first level. So this information is not correct. The thing with 2800 men that came from the south is in the book (page 753) and in the atlas of middle earth.

goofs section edit

Hi, just wondering if you could stop removing the goofs section in the new south park episode without at least referencing a wikipedia policy showing that it doesnt belong there. until then, you are just using personal preference, which is not a good enough reason. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.101.94.34 (talk • contribs).

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Yuirollingstar.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Yuirollingstar.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 03:17, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Enma korou.JPG) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Enma korou.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:33, 10 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Editing survey edit

Hi. My name is Mike Lyons and I am a doctoral student at Indiana University. I am conducting research on the writing and editing of high traffic “current events” articles on Wikipedia. I have noticed in the talk page archives at Barack Obama that you have contributed to the editing or maintenance of the article. I was hoping you would agree to fill out a brief survey about your experience. This study aims to help expand our thinking about collaborative knowledge production. Believe me I share your likely disdain for surveys but your participation would be immensely helpful in making the study a success. A link to the survey is included below.

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:31, 15 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Karen Russell for deletion edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Karen Russell is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Karen Russell until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Dennis Bratland (talk) 21:14, 25 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
