Hello Gauravkumarpatra1! Your additions to Draft:Indian Railways Train-18 have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:59, 22 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for reviewing the article, but i would request you to kindly reconsider your decision. I am well aware of the fact that there is a similarly 'named' article already present in Wikipedia, but that one is about a "Train service" and my article is about a "Rolling Stock". The reason behind having similar name of both the subjects is that the "rolling stock" didn't get any special name, and is recognized by its service name only. Some informations in both the articles like "History" would be same, as it can't be changed. There are similar articles like this already in Wikipedia like: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acela AND https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acela_Express_(trainset) Gauravkumarpatra1 (talk) 07:26, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Revising article about Vande Bharat Rolling Stock

edit

Hello there, I see that you've drafted an article about Vande Bharat Rolling Stock. Appreciate your good efforts on the article. But the article is not approved yet. So, shall we collaborate and revise the language and remove any copyright stuff? Please let me know your thoughts about this.

Imtushar (talk) 10:18, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Yes, you may go ahead with the necessary editing the article requires to get it published. But before you collaborate and edit this draft article, I should clarify my intentions behind drafting this article. So, basically, I wanted to draft an article about Vande Bharat's technical aspects and not its commercial aspects, which is what the current public article is all about, so make sure you don't add any details that are related to its commercial operations, like new routes, on board services, accidents, political views, etc. And try not to omit or edit the factual data, as i have collected these data from various official & verified sources. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sri Lanka Railways M11, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page V12. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:DRAFT PAGE

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that the page you created, Draft:DRAFT PAGE, was tagged as a test page under section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion and has been or soon may be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other test edits you may want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. jlwoodwa (talk) 08:15, 2 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

  • @Gauravkumarpatra1: I have declined the speedy deletion as this looks to be an attempt at an article and not a test. Having said that, the title you have chosen is not appropriate. "DRAFT PAGE" provides no indication what your draft topic is. You need to move it to a proper title. As well, it appears you have copied or closely paraphrased your draft. Your wording closely matches what I found in this document. It is an Indian government document wo it is probably license compatible with Wikipedia, but you must provide attribution. If you need help with any of this, you can get assistance at the Teahouse. -- Whpq (talk) 18:07, 2 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, i am aware of that, give me few days time, i am not finished editing this yet. Gauravkumarpatra1 (talk) 18:18, 2 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
No. You should deal with this now. The title is a simple matter of moving it. The lack of attribution for copying text is a copyright violation. -- Whpq (talk) 18:28, 2 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I have shifted my unfinished work to my sandbox for now. You can DELETE this draft page. Gauravkumarpatra1 (talk) 18:39, 2 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
You are still required to provide attribution if you are copying license compatible text even if you have shifted it to your sandbox. What is the source of the text you are using? -- Whpq (talk) 19:44, 2 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
