Speedy deletion nomination of Thundermarch NIT Silchar edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Thundermarch NIT Silchar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your article edit

You said that the page should not be deleted "because the page is not of any party, tour or function. It is the page of an annual erock festival of National Institute of Technology,Silchar organized by the students of the college. The article doesn't copy any of its contents from any other source and also doesn't hold the copyright of the templates used in it. Moreover I as an admin declare that there is no other article in wikipedia having the same name as my article". None of those were reasons for deletion. The reason given was that the article failed to show the significance of the event. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a directory or social media. For an article to survive, notability must be shown. Please read WP:GNG about notability in general, and WP:RS about the reliable independent sources needed to prove the notability. On Wikipedia, there can only be one article with a specific title, but sometimes two articles have similar content. In that case, one will be deleted or merged into the other. By the way, you are not an administrator here, so please do not say you are. If you mean you are an administrator somewhere else, say so, but it will have no effect on things here.
