September 2017 edit

  Hello, I'm My name is not dave. I noticed that you recently removed content from Major League Football without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.   Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Major League Football, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Major League Football edit

Hello, I noticed you are removing swaths of sourced content from Major League Football, especially in regards to former members who were once involved with the company. Having all sourced information is important to the understanding of the subject especially in the historical context about how the league made its first attempt at launching. Also, any additions without sourcing will likewise be removed as we cannot verify the content. As you seem to have some inside information, you MUST read the conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you, Yosemiter (talk) 15:18, 7 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest as declaring yourself CEO of MLFB edit

  Hello, Gametime17. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Major League Football, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies.

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Yosemiter (talk) 15:54, 7 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
