Nomination of Game-Debate for deletion edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Game-Debate is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Game-Debate until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. CharlieEchoTango (contact) 07:09, 28 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Concerning your query on my talk-page: normally the article does not have to be "whole" but should at least provide some indication why the subject of the article is notable in the wiki-sense. This notabilty is not established at the moment (see WP:Yourfirstarticle for more information regarding the requirements. You could ask for the article to be moved to a user subpage of yours for you to work upon it; you may do so at the deletion discussion. Just one bit of advice: don't get angry or frustrated, as it does not pay, wikiwise. This is Lectonar, editing via smartphone. Help and advice edit

You asked at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Game-Debate for help and advice, so, following from Lectonar's assistance above...

  • Wikipedia articles need to be proven notable to be kept.
  • Notability requires that there be coverage in reliable sources.
  • For the purposes of notability, sources must also be:
  • Significant coverage - a few lines, a quote or a listing is not sufficient.
  • Independent of the subject - sources from Game-Debate itself or from one of its partners or affiliates, are not sufficient.
  • Multiple - this is sometimes contentious (what about an article with one in-depth source and several trivial ones, for example?), but generally, you need at least two sources.

To keep the article, then, you or another user need to provide at least two sources which are independent of Game-Debate and cover it in some detail.
