Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Gaia JYD Coretti. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Juan Kouyoumdjian, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 14:46, 5 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Further to the above, our Terms of Use state that "you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation." An editor who contributes as part of his or her paid employment is required to disclose that fact. If you are receiving, or expect to receive, monetary or other benefits or considerations from editing Wikipedia as a representative of an organization (as an employee or contractor; as an employee or contractor of a firm hired by that organization for public-relations purposes; as owner, officer or other stakeholder; or by having some other form of close financial relationship with a topic you wish to write about), then you must disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Gaia JYD Coretti. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Gaia JYD Coretti|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please say so, here on this page. Otherwise, please make the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you have answered this message. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 14:48, 5 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Gaia Coretti (I assume you are that editor?), did you not understand what "please do not edit further until you have answered this message" means? As far as I can see, you are a paid editor editing without proper disclosure, and thus in violation of the Terms of Use that govern participation here. You will not be allowed to continue doing that – you can either make appropriate disclosure, or refrain from editing. Please do not make any further edit to any other page until you have replied here. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:58, 5 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

September 2019 edit

  Hello, I'm Aboideau. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Juan Kouyoumdjian, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. aboideautalk 15:10, 5 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

September 2019 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion, as you did at Juan Kouyoumdjian. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 16:41, 11 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

dear Justlettersandnumbers I read a few articles on the Wikipedia's rules pages. I'm sorry but I'm new and I had to learn the correct method to contribute to Wikipedia. If I had well understood, you blocked me because I did not put a reliable source and you thought I just did the promotion of Juan Kouyoumdjian and his company. Could you please unblock me? I will find all the reliable sources. I need to do that as soon as possible as I'm working for the company. In any case I'm sure I'll be able to find the right sources for each information that I'll put online. Thanks a lot for your help and at your disposal for any question. Best Regards Gaia Gaia JYD Coretti (talk) 14:17, 24 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

If you work for the company, you have a conflict of interest and should not be writing about your employer. You have also violated Wikipedia's Terms of Use regarding undisclosed paid editing. You will need to address these issues if you wish to be unblocked. You will not be allowed to write about Juan Kouyoumdjian or his company again, so you will also need to indicate what you intend to edit in the future. Yunshui  15:00, 24 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Dear Yunshui. That's true I'm working for Juan Yachts Design but if I just write about real facts using the right reliable sources, why should I not be able to contribute to Wikipedia? and If I ll do that during my free time? Is that possible? How the other important companies have a page? Juan Yachts Design is an important company in Sailing. Thanks a lot for your help. Gaia Gaia JYD Coretti (talk) 16:27, 24 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

The page you created and the content you added was promotional because you added it. Wikipedia is a volunteer curated encyclopedia whose readers expect independent coverage of our subject matter. You also have not indicated what you will edit about if unblocked, as you will not be unblocked to write about your employer. MER-C 18:24, 24 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
