Map detail

Please make sure that the maps you add are more detailed than the ones they replace and make sense for the articles they are located in. Uyghurs overwhelmingly live in Xinjiang so it makes sense for a map of the Uyghur language to have a focus on Xinjiang. Listing every city outside of China with only a minute Uyghur (Tokyo?) population while making Xinjiang hard to spot on the map does not make any sense. The Dutch colonial empire map you made is also less detailed than the ones it replaced, at least when it comes to different types of colonial holdings, when they were colonized, and missing the color legend. A mono-color map with no differentiation between holdings is not superior. Qiushufang (talk) 17:55, 21 September 2022 (UTC)

I understand your point, i thought only to select japan as a country where there's people that speak Uyghur, but i selected Tokyo because is the largest city by population and there's no information where Uyghur-speakers are in Japan, i would like you to explain why does not make sense. The Dutch Colonial Map is less detailed, i can recognize your argument, but i made it to be more simple, and some of my "Colonials Empires" maps are detailed in many details. I couldn't find all the colonies of the Dutch Empire (Most of them Trading Post) and only added the colonies i could find, if you can give me the sources of all those trading post and colonies, i would love to read and remake my map. Also the Legend "Mono-color map" of the actual map dad you replaced of mine, i really found it needless because Dutch East India Company is obviously a part of the Dutch Empire and as i said, i wanted to make the map more simple for the people, also the Dutch East India Company has an own page. Also i putted the hard spot because of Urumqi, Yanqui Hui Autonomous County... Etc, by many sources Urumqi and the another zones has a great majority of Uyghur-speakers. I won't change the map of the Uyghur language because i see your discomfort with the map, and i would like to remake it for a future. But i will undo your changes in the Dutch stuff because the map i made have all the colonies/trading post that has page on Wikipedia and another sources of Internet, Is more simple and more understandable, more quality that can show where exactly were positioned the colony/tranding post, is needless to add that the colonies of South Africa, India, Indonesia, etc... Hi Gabriel, just wanted to let you know that I undid your addition of unsourced material at French colonial empire. If you can find a reliable source that supports this, please re-add your content, along with a citation to the source. See Help:Footnotes for how to do this. I noticed your change at Ünal Üstel as well, and would have undid that as well, but someone had already done so. You added a citation in that case (thank you for that!) but it was to a Facebook post, which is not permitted, because it is a self-published source and considered unreliable. Please read WP:Identifying reliable sources for more about this.

I see that quite a few of your contributions were reverted, and that you have been frequently making content additions and changes without providing a source. You are still very new here, and it's easier to establish good editing habits when you are new. So please get in the habit of always adding a citation to a reliable source that supports the content you are adding. • That was the third message you've written on my Talk page about one topic, but instead of threading the discussion properly, you've created three separate sections on my Talk page, one section for each comment. Please don't do that. When replying or adding new comments about a single topic, keep them in the same section. Please read WP:THREAD about how to reply to discussions on Talk pages.

Linking more than once or twice in an article is bad style

Prussia

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Prussia. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. Hi. I have reverted an edit of yours on this article, and would like to remind you about WP:BRD. When your Bold edit has been Reverted by another editor, the recommended next step, if you continue to think the edit is necessary, is to Discuss the dispute on the article talk page with other editors, but not to re-revert it, which is the first step to edit warring, a disruptive activity which is not allowed. Discussion on the talk page is the only way we have of reaching consensus, which is central to resolving editing disputes in an amicable and collegial manner, which is why communicating your concerns to your fellow editors is essential. While the discussion is going on, the article generally should remain in the status quo ante until the consensus as to what to do is reached (see WP:STATUSQUO).

To help move things along, I have started a discussion on the article talk page about the disputed edit, which you will find here. Please take the opportunity to make your views known there. HRE 1648

Can you re-check your claim on loss of Italy in 1648. I did a Google image search for HRE maps in 1648 and they all show Italy as being separate at this point, one example [1]. E-960 (talk) 16:55, 10 January 2023 (UTC)

Minor edits

Hi Gabriel, I've noticed that you've been marking your contributions as "minor edits," but though most of them are definitely not minor. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism.
