Vehicle registration plates of Wisconsin edit
Dude(tte), with the very greatest of respect... how necessary is it to add virtually *every* single bit of information there is regarding Wisconsin license plates?
Obviously, all the standard passenger plates issued by the state since 1905 should be in the article. And adding all the current optional and non-passenger plates, plus a few discontinued ones (particularly ones that are still on the roads today), is perfectly fair. So, too, is pointing out these plates' respective serial ranges.
But how necessary is it to go into great detail about, say, the kinds of stickers issued to certain non-passenger plates, or their registration periods? Or to point out when a serial's position was subtly altered?
For a fan site like Andrew Turnbull's, all this detail is perfectly fine. And for WisDOT's site, detail about stickers and registration periods is obviously necessary.
But Wikipedia is a different proposition altogether. All its articles are edited collaboratively, and a neutral point of view is required when editing them. While boldness is encouraged, care must also be taken, and sometimes consensus is required before making changes. And, most notably, there should not be too much detail in an article - otherwise, readers who aren't fans of the subject in question might lose interest or question how so much detail is important.
And I say all of this as a fellow license plate fan, who frequently visits sites like LicensePlates.cc, Eric Tanner's Allaboutlicenseplates.com and, obviously, Mr Turnbull's, as well as the sites of the agencies responsible for issuing plates (like WisDOT, California DMV or the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia).
You've probably already gathered that I don't like it when articles are frequently edited by incompetent individuals who may also engage in sockpuppetry (rest assured, I certainly don't consider *you* incompetent, and I'm sure you're not a sockpuppeteer either). Another thing I don't like is getting involved in edit wars with anyone - regardless of their competence, if they're sockpuppeteers or not, and indeed if they're fellow license plate fans or not. I feel there's a nonzero chance that I would start an edit war if I went ahead and deleted all the information you've added in the last 24 hours or so regarding stickers, registration periods etc - hence this message.
If you're mad at me anyway after reading all this, I can only apologize. Making other people mad is something I never intend to do.

- @Klondike53226: Feel free to delete whatever doesn't seem necessary. You probably know more about what would be enough detail and what would be too much. For the discontinued section I followed the lead of the New Jersey page, which detailed every discontinued plate that was ever issued (including weird types like clam/oyster permit). Maybe you would think that's too much detail to add to the Wisconsin page or you would split off the plate types into categories (though I probably wouldn't add all the disabled plates that used to exist in Wisconsin, such as disabled motor home, disabled veteran motor home, disabled truck, disabled veteran truck, disabled dual purpose farm, the list just goes on and on). There also is a such thing as a disabled motorcycle plate with a D prefix but I thought that plate might have been too redundant to add to the list of plates.
