Notability of TraderPlanet

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on TraderPlanet, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because TraderPlanet is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting TraderPlanet, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Speedy deletion of TraderPlanet

edit

A tag has been placed on TraderPlanet requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Acroterion (talk) 03:43, 31 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

All submissions of this kind must comply with requirements for notability, and particularly for web-based content: yours gave no indication that it was, in fact, notable. Given that it is less than a month old and in beta, this is not surprising. The article has been deleted three times by three different administrators for this reason. You also appear to have a conflict of interest: writing about yourself or an organization in which you are involved is strongly discouraged, since it is hard to maintain an appropriate level of objectivity. You should have multiple references in independent media (not press releases, but genuine articles) documenting notability, without referring back to the organization's own media. Extensive resumes of the management team are inappropriate as well, unless those individuals are themselves worthy of their own articles, meeting the same criteria mentioned above.
Finally, Wikipedia is not a community website, hosting service, bulletin board or means of promotion. It is an encyclopedia, and we require submissions to meet specific standards for verifiability, objectivity and encyclopedic content. An objective, non-promotional article on your organization is welcome if and when it reaches our standards of notability, but it does not appear to do so at this time. TraderPlanet is very new: give it time. Acroterion (talk) 13:04, 31 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of "Darrell Jobman"

A page you created, Darrell Jobman, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is a blatant copyright infringement.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. RJaguar3 | u | t 02:24, 16 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Whilst he may be worthy of an article, the page you edited was merely copied from another website, and was thus a copyright violation. Therefore, it had to be deleted. Black Kite 06:06, 16 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

What site do you considered this copied off of? This is ridiculous!

File permission problem with File:Homer-drew-600th-win.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Homer-drew-600th-win.png, which you've sourced to Chris Mahlmann of ValpoLife.com.. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:24, 14 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Olga Velasquez.jpg

edit

The file File:Olga Velasquez.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused image, no context to determine possible future use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --TheImaCow (talk) 21:12, 18 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
