Guiseppe or Giuseppe

edit

Hi Fritteli, I started a discussion regarding this topic on Talk:Guiseppe Cannone...

The only reference that states a forename spells it as Guiseppe ("you-eye"), but according to Google, Giuseppe ("eye-you") appears to be a 40-times more common spelling. I don't know enough Italian to know whether both spelling variations are valid, or whether one is typographical error, does anybody know?

There are instances of the spelling Guiseppe on the internet, though mainly in the USA, I don't know whether these are typographical errors or a corruption of Giuseppe.
