Your username edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Pando (tree), and I noticed that your username, "Friendsofpando", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Hi,
Friends of Pando is an official partner to US Forest Service On Pando. We are the leading educational, research, preservation and cultural organization solely focus on Pando. While we are happy to change the user name if need be, we work with Pando's federal and state land stewards in our mission to educate the public, support research and preservation efforts. Please advise. Friendsofpando (talk) 19:17, 31 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi, thanks for your response. You are welcome to request a change of username as set out above, but from what you say, I'm not sure that your aims fit with Wikipedia's - you would need to avoid promotion, and the account would need to be used by one person only. You could ask at the Teahouse for further guidance. Tacyarg (talk) 20:01, 31 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, please do request a name change as described above before making any further edits. Please also clearly state that this account will only be used by a single person. Otherwise I will have to block this account from editing. Thanks. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 03:31, 1 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
