Dilip Kumar Mahata
editDilip Kumar Mahata (Born on 27 July, 1985)is an Geophysicist of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited. He is best known for his behavior, polite nature and affection to people. He is born to Dhaneswari Devi and Santosh Kumar Mahata in Hensla village of Purulia District of West Bengal, India. His parents are practitioner of Baul Philosophy.
After completing honours in Mathematics from J.K. College, Purulia in 2005 he joined Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad as a student of Master of Science and Technology (MSc. Tech) in Applied Geophysics. After completing MScTech he has joined Geophysicist of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited on June 9, 2008. He performs the following duties in the organization
• Create and performs 2D and 3D seismic interpretation projects. • Using Seismic waves to produce geological structure maps and cross sections of the earth’s structure. • Predicting changes and movements in rock structures. • Collecting information about rock volume and quality that can be used to measure the likely yield of oil or gas. • Prospect generation, Prospect ranking, Well to Seismic tie, Time to Depth conversion. • Provides geophysical evaluation and support as part of ongoing technical review of various blocks and fields especially in seismic attribute generation and analysis, reservoir characterization including basic Rock Physics Analysis. • Designing of 3D Seismic Acquisition Parameters. • Calculation and analysis of Rock Elastic Parameters from well log data • Identify new reservoir potential and infill locations to optimise production. • Ensure quality assurance of seismic interpretation activities. • Drive implementation of discipline technologies. Participate in technical excellence and value assurance activities. • Share responsibility for safe and accurate exploration, appraisal and development drilling prognoses and operational drilling efficiency. • Present results and recommendations to management and stakeholders, as required. • Develop effective learning networks, and contribute to good team spirit. Presently he is pursuing MBA (Finance) from Indiara Gandhi National Open University. He is also a student of Film Making in Creative Hut, Ahmedabad
