Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. MER-C 12:07, 1 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Do you have any photographs?

edit

Hi there. I was wondering if you happened to be local to the Midi and if so whether there was a possibility that you have any copyright-free photographs of locks which could be uploaded to Wikipedia and released under GFDL - I am particularly looking for photos to fill the gaps in the tables in Locks on the Canal du Midi and La Nouvelle branch? Thanks in advance & kind regards, Nancy talk 13:49, 1 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello again and thanks for getting back to me. What I was really hoping for was photographs that could be uploaded to Wikipedia and used to illustrate the articles rather than links to external sites. e.g. as you may have noticed in La Nouvelle branch only a couple of the locks have photographs so far and Locks on the Canal du Midi likewise. For the past several years we have spent September in Bize-Minervois & so I have uploaded quite a few of my own photographs but they provide far from comprehensive coverage. So what I'm asking is whether you have any personal photographs of the canals/locks/other structures that you were willing to release via a GFDL license (i.e. removing the copyright from them) and upload to Wikipedia for use in articles and elsewhere? . Kind regards, Nancy talk 08:30, 3 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
