Welcome edit

Dear Freetaiwanblog: Welcome to Wikipedia! I've noticed some recent edits you've made (as well as some anonymous edits that I assume are also yours), and wanted to remind you of Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, as well as the policy for using Republic of China, Taiwan, Republic of China (Taiwan), Taiwan Province, etc. (WP:NC-TW). Happy editing! Thanks! -Multivariable (talk) 05:04, 25 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

February 2011 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. However, I noticed that your username (Freetaiwanblog) may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it Promotes a blog and gives the impression of being here solely to push a political agenda.. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. wjematherbigissue 04:13, 7 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, your account has been blocked; you are welcome to create a new account with a username that represents only you. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. - Dank (push to talk) 04:28, 7 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Dear Wjemather, I consulted Wikipedia's user name policy. There is no relevant provision that applies to me as I neither act on behalf of a company or this is a group user account. There is a personal political blog I run, this however does not violate any of the aspects of the Wikipedia policy you have referenced above. While my edits and contributions are somewhat selected in their topics, I believe this not to be in conflict with any policy.

Thus: I ask you to prove your allegations or remove the block. Freetaiwanblog (talk) 07:01, 7 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, but you are mistaken. Having a username such as this, while created in good faith, gives the impression that you are advertising your blog with every edit you make and every comment you sign. Syrthiss (talk) 12:36, 7 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Can I please have my username changed to Free Taiwan ? Or Freetaiwan or a variation thereof? How about I delete the link to my blog on my userpage? Freetaiwanblog (talk) 15:00, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Decline reason:

That's just as bad, There is another issue here, namely that you appear to be here to push an agenda, and even if you're not, a username of "Free Taiwan" certainly implies you are Jac16888Talk 15:05, 7 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Please someone rename me to Xinhai and unblock me then. I understand your concerns. Freetaiwanblog (talk) 15:25, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Use {{unblock-un}} ... you will have to input your request manually at WP:CHU if you are unblocked. — Daniel Case (talk) 16:11, 7 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Or if you don't care if your contributions from this account are part of your edit history, you are able to create a new account with your suggested username. Either way you want to do it is fine with us. I checked and that name is free. Syrthiss (talk) 16:14, 7 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
