Kia ora

Kia ora, thanks for creating the new article on Sacha Lees. I see that you're quite a new editor - are you in New Zealand? We have a few groups of editors in different locations around the country, and also a group of editors who meet up online, if you are interested in joining up with other editors to share tips and tricks! We also have a Facebook group (for editors) and page (public-facing) for Wikipedia discussions and sharing news. All the best and happy editing! MurielMary (talk) 11:29, 1 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Kia ora and thanks. Yes, I'm resident in NZ but native Scottish. Not sure how much I'd be able to contribute to NZ knowledge on Wikipedia. My involvement with the Sacha Lees page was born out of personal acquaintance really. I'll have a look at the Facebook page however and see if I think it's worth my while joining up with the NZ editors' group. Thanks again. FraserPettigrew (talk) 22:32, 1 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
All good! Just to clarify, the NZ editors don't all write about NZ topics - a lot do, but some don't, so if there's a non-NZ topic you are interested in, the groups/pages would likely still be of use. MurielMary (talk) 23:33, 1 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Of course - no end of general knowledge rattling around my head! Might come in useful! Let me know how to link up then and we'll see how it goes. FraserPettigrew (talk) 00:02, 2 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Well, the next online meet-up is on Sunday 30 April: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/Aotearoa_New_Zealand_Online/36 and you can also see at the bottom of that page the in-person meet-ups that happen at different places around the country. On FB this is the public page: https://www.facebook.com/Wikipedia.Aotearoa.NZ and this is the closed group for editors: https://www.facebook.com/groups/833075710196955 All the best, MurielMary (talk) 11:33, 4 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
