Image uploads

A few of your image uploads were recently deleted because they were tagged with an improper licensing tag. {{wikipedia-screenshot}} is only used for images which are a screenshot of a Wikipedia article, often used for commentary and maintenance within Wikipedia rather than in the articles themselves. You are welcome to re-upload the images with proper sourcing, and select a more appropriate licensing tag for the images. Let me know if you need help with this process. Thanks for uploading File:Eva and Ilse Braun 1913.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

Eva Braun article

Please refrain from changes to lead-main article photos (as you have done herein) without first obtaining Wikipedia:Consensus, as is Wikipedia policy. Further, photos uploaded have to be properly licensed, free images or they will be removed by a bot program or one of the patrolling members (not me). See: Wikipedia:Non-free content. Hi there, File:Evabraun2 large.jpg is a good addition to the Eva Braun article, thanks!

But I just need to check; do you have a source for the image (where it was first published) so it's verifiably her? And do you know when it was first published(because it's highly unlikely to be before 1925, as the current license says). Thanks! Peter (talk) 11:41, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

I have nominated this file for deletion, as it does not say who took the photo or whether or not we have their permission to use it. It is virtually impossible that it was taken before 1923 as Braun was born in 1912 and is certainly not eleven years old in this photo. Please get the licensing straightened out or the file will be deleted soon. We cannot keep File:Eva and Ilse Braun 1913.jpg either, if it is actually owned by Getty Images, so I have tagged it for deletion. Sorry. --Dianna (talk) 04:42, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Bridgiddowling.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

• make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
• Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included.
