Who is SEGA? ???? I am the co-creator of the old Phish Phactory website (1998-2003). These are my personal photos taken on the Fall 2000 tour. My email is phactorystevens@yahoo.com if you have any questions

License tagging for Image:Jonfishman18.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Jonfishman18.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:09, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself, as you did with Image:Pagemcconnell199.jpg. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the article's [[Talk::Image:Pagemcconnell199.jpg|talk page]]. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. -- moe.RON Let's talk | done 01:30, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. The next time you remove a speedy deletion notice from an article you created, as you did with Image:Pagemcconnell199.jpg, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. -- moe.RON Let's talk | done 01:42, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your photographs

edit

Ok, it looks like we're going to have to sort this one out. Did you take the photographs you uploaded or did you snatch them from some website? Do you have any proof of authorship? If they are your photographs, are you willing to release them under an acceptable free-use license (e.g. {{GFDL}})? If so, please forward an e-mail to m:OTRS to formalize permission. Until then, you might want to cease any participation in edit warring, or you will be blocked for violating WP:3RR. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 02:48, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have blocked you for 24 hours for gross violation of WP:3RR. Note that you may be blocked again unless these image copyright concerns are addressed and you refrain from constant reverts. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 02:57, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please stop

edit

The photos you have continuously uploading are copyright violations. Use of copyrighted photos is prohibited on Wikipedia with the exception of those that qualify as fair use. Continuing to upload these images will be met with a block on your account. —210physicq (c) 02:52, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry that your experience has been very rocky thusfar. SEGA is a banned user who has caused a lot of problems in the past by violating copyright and creating fake personas. Some editors expressed concern that your pattern of contribution was similar to SEGA's and that the images you uploaded might have been copyright violations (see this, for instance). A request for checkuser has been made, and, if you are telling the truth, it should check out.

No one here wants to discourage new editors from contributing new material, especially when this material is as useful as the photographs you have graciously uploaded. However, we are not professionals - we are enthusiasts much like yourself. You were blocked for violating WP:3RR, which is the same standard that applies to any other user on this site. There's no reason to get pissed off, the statements directed at you as a contributor are not in any way meant to be personal insults or condescending criticism. If you need any help with editing, or are confused about process or policy, then ask someone about it. Cheers ˉˉanetode╦╩ 22:39, 13 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Words of encouragement

edit

Frank, I've been noticing the edit-warring going on over your Phish photos, and I want to apologize for not having helped you out sooner. Unfortunately, every time I looked, the article had already been reverted and your images speedily deleted, so it was hard to get a handle on what was going on.
One thing you must realize is that the Phish articles are subject to quite a bit of trolling and sometimes editors are a little quick to judge.
Just sit tight and don't get discouraged while the powers that be get this worked out.

I am sorry, but these are not your photographs. These were taken by and copyrighted to Moment Ends Photography. The photographer explicitly says on their webpage that these images are not free at all to the public, which means that they can't be used on Wikipedia. If you own this webpage, then please change the warning of your copyright policy. Otherwise, admins will continue to delete these images as copyright violations. If someone places a speedy deletion notice on one of your images, PLEASE use type {{hangon}} on the page instead of removing the warning and explaining your case on the talk page. -- moe.RON Let's talk | done 00:17, 14 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Moment Ends Photography

edit
I am sorry to report that these ARE my photographs, my friend. However, the Phish Phactory website login information now belongs to David Murphy, who now hosts this inactive site since Chris and I left in 2003. Therefore I cannot edit the page, which, as you might notice, is only readable during a Google image search. This disclaimer is no longer on the original site. However, on the site, I wrote the following disclaimer back in November 2000:
"Copyright Notice.
All photographs and contents of this site are copyright The Moment Ends Photography 2000
All Rights Reserved.
All photographs and text appearing in the Moment Ends Photography site are
the exclusive property of The Moment Ends Photography and are
protected under United States and International copyright laws.
The Moment Ends Photography gives permission for these
photographs to be downloaded and printed for personal use only.
The Moment Ends Photography encourages artists to use the images
for non-commercial and non-profit projects, especially CD-R cover artwork.
Any other reproduction or manipulation of these images without the
permission of The Moment Ends Photography is a violation of copyright.
No images are within Public Domain.
These photos are not available for sale.
Thank You."
The key sentence here is "The Moment Ends Photography encourages artists to use the images
for non-commercial and non-profit projects." Wikipedia falls under this category, therefore I feel these images ::are more than legitimate. FrankStevens2007 00:37, 14 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
So, for the record, you are Frank Stevens, you took all of these Momemnt End photographs and you posted this memo above in November 2000? -- moe.RON Let's talk | done 00:48, 14 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
YES. Please email me at phactorystevens@yahoo.com with any further questions. I will be happy to answer anything you inquire about. FrankStevens2007 01:28, 14 March 2007 (UTC).Reply
But these photographs were taken by Jon Davis. All postings on the Momement Ends Photography pages say this from 1999 - 2003. Why would it say he took them? -- moe.RON Let's talk | done 02:10, 14 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
