October 2016 edit

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Portland Harbour, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. You need reliable, sourced, references for these edits before changing the article. David J Johnson (talk) 17:31, 5 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

I don't understand what you mean by "reliable source". I gave Wikipedia cross-references which state that Portland Harbour is 520 hectares, Cherbourg Harbour is 1500 hectares and Ras Laffan 4500 hectares. What more do you need ? Franciscus montmartinensis (talk) 21:28, 5 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please keep your comments and answers in one place, which should be the article Talk page and certainly not my User Talk page. As I have tried to explain to you, you need reliable outside sources for your "edits", Wikipedia is not considered a "reliable source", as anyone can change content. You may well be right, but you must use sources other than Wikipedia. David J Johnson (talk) 09:24, 7 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
