Removing Warnings edit

Yes, it is considered vandalism if you remove a warning from your talk page. From WP:VAND: Removing warnings for vandalism or other issues from one's talk page may also be considered vandalism.. (see also Wikipedia:Removing warnings). Should somebody do this, you can use, in order, templates {{Wr0}}, {{Wr}}, and {{Wr2}}. If the vandal should strike again, you can list him/her on WP:AIV. Revert on WP:RFA. edit

Just out of interest, could you please tell me why you completely reverted the addition of 9cds' RfA to WP:RFA? Cheers, — FireFox • 11:29, 09 June '06

Sorry but that really is no reason to full revert his addition. As it turns out, you ended up reverting yourself, and then moving the RfA to the top of the list anyway. — FireFox • 14:49, 09 June '06
Ok, I'll leave this issue. Please remember to provide a useful edit summary in the future, explaining the reason for the revert. Thanks, — FireFox • 14:53, 09 June '06
Just one more thing. Please don't do this again, as the RfA had barely started, let-alone failed. — FireFox • 16:17, 09 June '06

Vandalism? edit

You commented that I had added nonsense to Wikipedia and that was considered Vandalism. Erm what did I write because the only thing I wrote was about Nick's name being Shirm not Shim...

Subst edit

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. --Cyde↔Weys 17:42, 9 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I will be slowly acclimating myself to my new tools over the next months, but welcome any and all feedback and suggestions on how I might be able to use them to help the project. Thanks again! Reverts edit

Hi ForestH2.... We've worked together before so I wanted to bring this to your attention in case you were not aware. In the history of Treehouse (Drake and Josh episode) it's clear that you have been repeatedly reverting. This article went through AfD and consensus was to merge. It's probably not a good thing to revert content back in without first getting consensus that the merge should be reversed. Excessive reversion, especially against consensus, can be detrimental to the project. This may be old news, apologies if it's already being addressed (I became aware of it because of this thread User_talk:Lar#Article_Un-redirect on my talk page. ++Lar: t/c 16:19, 12 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

HBP Film edit conflict edit

Calm down? What are you on about? I have not got a problem, and I've had enough with your insolence - everytime I make an edit you try and contradict me - IMDB is a fan based site any one can add anything. I have read the book (the centaurs aren't in it - except for the ending, which is very unlikely that they'll use live actors for). Evilphoenix (conveniently) no longer sings in - so how can we ask him? Im trying to help this article by stating sources that are verifiable. Foxearth 00:25, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Stop being so ridiculous, did I ever call Wikipedia the best site in the world? No! The two websites are different kettles of fish, IMDB doesn't have souces to back up statements Wikipedia does, I will report this if it goes any further, this petty bickering is beyond belief... Foxearth 00:30, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia does site sources - you find little nit picks with anyone who tries to do their job properly - I'm trying to maintain this website, your last comment makes no sense and you are not seeing the full picture - I disagree with your views leave the page as it is.. Foxearth 00:33, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
It seems you are threatening others with blocks because they don't come round to your way of thinking. I believe we can sort this out rationally if you listened to my side of events, because they are more appropriate. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean you have the authority to block them, you harrass me with every edit I make, and it stops right now. Also, what's with repeating the same message 3 times on my talk page. You are not god Forest, I know this may be difficult for you to believe, but you need to stop creating so much fuss... and denying that you are in the wrong Foxearth

Threats edit

Please stop sending me threatening messages. I do not believe that you have the authority to ban me from Wikipedia, nor that even a casual glance at my contributions would support such a move.Rhindle The Red 00:47, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure what the issues are, though it looks like a content issue. Why is that box such a area of debate? Is it not verifiable? Rx StrangeLove 01:03, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

You have been temporarily blocked for violation of the three-revert rule. Please feel free to return after the block expires, but also please make an effort to discuss your changes further in the future.

Blocked for 12hrs for reverting Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (film) more than three times in the last 24 hours. User:Foxearth has also been blocked for this. UkPaolo/talk 07:57, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

My RFA edit

ForestH2, thank you very much for your support in my recent Request for adminship, it passed with a final tally of (65/3/3) - which I find both amazing and humbling. I wish I had time to thank everyone personally, but I'm afraid all I can offer is this token of my gratitude. I hope to live up to your expectations/hopes. If at any stage you need to contact me, for help or a request or to point out a mistake in my conduct, please make sure to tell me on my talk page. --Fir0002 08:22, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Help edit

This is to UkPaolo only. If you can't figure out what a 3RR is I am not excatly sure why you are an admin. I am leaving Wikipedia as I have had it with everyone and after 12 hours is finished I am going to report you to a place (not sure where yet). For you not to know what a 3RR is, well I'm not sure why you are an admin. I deserve to be unblocked and after the 12 hours or when I am unblocked I am going to report UkPaolo to the admins and then leave Wikipedia. ForestH2

I left your comment on UkPaolo's talk page for you, and removed the {{helpme}} tag. Waitak 14:50, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. Are you an admin? Please unblock me. If you look at the page he thinks I overdid the 3RR I didn't. All I need to do is post to Esperenza/Alerts saying I'm leaving Wikipedia and then do a couple things with my talk page. ForestH2
Nope, I'm just a plebe who happened to notice a {{helpme}} tag. Sorry! Waitak 15:04, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Could you place as Ezperenza/Alerts that I'm leaving Wikipedia please? I'll post at the admins noticeboard later or maybe even Requests for Arbatration or even WP:AIV. ForestH2

Hmm. Just looked at the 3RR conversation above. If you're only blocked for 12 hours, why not just wait it out, and then do whatever posting you wanted to do? It's only a few more hours... Waitak 15:07, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

But I didn't actully revert a page more than 4 times. I'll wait out though. --ForestH2

That's good to hear. I hope that everything that you had problems with can be solved. Forest tends to believe anyone who disagrees with him to be a vandal - it is totally unacceptable, and because I was right over a matter concerning an unreliable source on a Harry Potter film page: I was called 'lazy' for not looking up a source which I didn't know existed - it's totally uncivil and I don't believe he should be an editor if he can't understand rashional explainations. RE: grammar edit

Hmm, if it was a specific date, such as 9th August 2006, I'd say on, but, in retrospect, in is probably more suitable here. There's no real point in reverting the page so many times, though- we could offer to help with his English, and perhaps correct his userpage for him, but I'd only do this with his consent- some users get (perhaps understandably) upset at repeated edits to their userpage.
Do you know the IP address that's been making the edits by any chance?

Thanks (plus some things I want you to know) edit

As much as I try right here in Wikipedia, I try to make sure all of my edits are as Neutral as I can, that all my edits/talks/misc are clean, that I make sure that I'm not committing any copyright/licensing issues, that I try to keep my cool, that I try to curb all of my emotions, that I assume that people are editing in what I prefer to call "clean faith" (It's basically same as Good Faith, but except it's done with a bit more carefulness and with more detail-orientation), that I watch what I'm saying in a talk page in Wikipedia, that Wikipedia is NOT CENSORED as long as it's done in good and credible faith, and that I try to resolve editing conflicts at the most appropriate level I can. I also try to make sure plagiarism is kept to an absolute minimum, but I also believe in professional diplomacy as well.

This is probably gonna become a long one, so if you want to know what my beliefs as a Wikipedian are, you should e-mail me at markkim31 at comcast dot net. I might be a bit more militarily disciplined than all Wikipedians are, but I really have an unstable inner self that as I try to follow Wikipedia guidelines, and if someone is trying to hurt my feelings, then I tend to lose it.

Anyway, thanks for letting me know that I don't act like a child. Everybody's style here in Wikipedia is diffrent, but as much as I try, I try to be very careful here in Wikipedia. — The Evil in Everyone (U * T/R * CTD) 21:23, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Answers edit

Sadly, IMDb has said nothing. Impossible to get in touch with. Second, I've heard nothing re Nick Shim, though I didn't put it through deletion review, as it didn't meet the crieteria. I simply placed a message on the talk page. Third, I'll take a look at those edits. Lastly, great eye for Maggie Smith. I didn't see that on any of the major fan sites. And there is absolutely nothing about Dobby that I know of, I have no clue what these "recent rumors" are. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 16:09, 1 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I had to revert your edits. The article doesn't say anything about taking time off from Harry Potter. Instead, it says, "She wants to do the play in between her Harry Potter filming commitments." I don't think that necessarily says anything about not doing HBP; I would think if anything it suggests that she would come back; however, it's not much right now. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 19:20, 1 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Forest, I hope I don't sound annoying, but you telling me to sign my posts with the four tildes is getting on my nerves. Please, you don't need to write a note on my talk page just because I didn't sign. First of all, I haven't been on Wikipedia for two weeks. Second of all, the standard style of your note – the form quality to it – just bugs me. Come on, you know that I know to sign my messages with the correct signatures. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 19:20, 1 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

No, it has nothing to do with it being troubling, it's that, as I said above, being away from Wikipedia for two weeks, and not dealing with typing "~~~~" makes you forget. As I slowly adjust to my normal lifestyle, a friendly reminder to get me back into the habit of using the signature option is much preferable over "When adding a comment on a talk page please sign your name with ~~~~ 4 tidles. Happy editing!" I hope you understand. And IMO, {{unsigned}} should really be for users who post and are likely not to revisit the page again soon, but where the signature is important. If the user can come back and sign it, then I think it should be done, especially if it can be proved in the edit history that it actually was that user. Anyway, this is a stupid discussion to be having. I just hope that you consider what is not an easy transition back to my normal life. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 02:42, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Is it really protected? Obviously I suppose I couldn't find out, as if it were available for anyone to edit it would be me. I suppose all users' monobooks are like that. Haven't the foggiest, really. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 02:49, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

LOL, I suppose I could just post while logged out, but it lets go a sense of my privacy… anyway, I haven't the faintest idea. And thanks for the heads-up and the compliment. I really think you should remove the thing about you leaving as you seem to be up to normal posting levels… --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 03:07, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'll look into it. But as I recall, Harry does note that Crabbe and Goyle look a bit left out. Let me go check the text. Have fun in New York, my home, even if it is on business… --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 20:06, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'll go find my book now… I live in Westchester, just north of the city. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 20:13, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, JK released an old sketch of all the teacher's names on it, c. POA time, with "Cuthbert Binns" written on it, but some other stuff on the page is not canon, as it was changed, so… technically, no. His name never appears in the books. If Cuthbert is noted, it should be attached to the bit about being released on a non-canon sheet of paper. See here. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 20:40, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Snitch is not a reputable source, and, as the information appears nowhere else, I'm afraid we can't accept it. By the way, I don't think Harry and William Melling are related, but I dunno. Pretty cool about passing HM – what did you think? --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 02:01, 4 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

My Dinner with Bobo edit

Hi, the content from My Dinner with Bobo was:

==General==

My Dinner with Bobo is a [[Drake & Josh]] episode from Season 4. It will air on September 1, 2006

==Plot==

I didn't put it on Season 4 episodes for Drake & Josh because it didn't say anything that isn't there already, but feel free to use the content as you need. Thanks, JYolkowski // talk 00:39, 3 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Syed Ahmed edit

Eh....Paolo the Shyed Ahmed article was recreated. 15:34, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Forest — it's good to see you still editing. Thanks for letting me know about the Syed Ahmed article, but please be aware that the currently refers to a different individual than the previously deleted article. I've added a note to the talk page to try and clarify this.
By the way, I've removed the semi-protection on your talk page, since there doesn't seem to be a current need for this (user talk pages are rarely protected, except for blocked users, since otherwise not everybody can leave messages for you).
UkPaolo/talk 16:14, 4 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
All right. Uh...yeah. On the 16th I left Wikipedia for a week in a half (a little annoyed) If I plan to leave Wikipedia for another long period of time, I will request my talk page protected. As you can see I am currently away but editing when I get a chance. And uh....could you watch Touth? He broke the 3RR twice in the last three days and I've yet to recieve a block for him after posting at WP:AIV Back from your wikibreak yet? Happy editing. ForestH2 | + | √+ | | √- | - 16:25, 4 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough! I'm also away most of the time, but editing when I get a chance, so no my Wikibreak isn't really over - I'm still not here anywhere near as much as I was! Regarding Touth, it WP:AIV isn't really approiate for reporting 3RR violations: you should post details to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/3RR. UkPaolo/talk 16:29, 4 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
And no IP has any really important messages to give to me, but still it's good my talk page was unprotected. Please keep my userpage protected. Oh and can an image be on a userpage? On Foxearth, you said it was only used to demonstrate the article in question.
Regarding protection of your user talk page, per Wikipedia:Protection policy "talk pages and user talk pages are not protected as a rule, except in extreme circumstances." I'm somewhat confused by your message as to whether or not you are requesting me to protect or unprotect your talk page, but per our policy I see no reason to keep your talk page protected (or semi protected). You can never be sure a new user (or IP) will want to contact you.
Regarding images, images uploaded to Wikipedia under a free license may, of course, be used on user pages. However, images uploaded under "fair use grounds" may not be used on user pages (since the use there does not constitute fair use). As an example, a screenshot from a Harry Potter film could be deemed fair use if used to illustrate an article on the Harry Potter film, but fair use could not be claimed if this screenshot was used to illustrate an article on broomsticks, or if it was used on my user page to show that I am a Harry Potter fan. Hope that makes sense. You can find the policy at WP:FU, in particular note "Fair use images should be used only in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are often enough not covered under the fair use doctrine." UkPaolo/talk 16:43, 4 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire edit

I never did Prisoner of Azkaban. Right now I'm extremely busy and only had time for one, so I did the one that I had just watched. Anyways, all edits to the summary are warmly received. I just put in what I thought people should know, but, yeah. - Raditzu 23:30, 5 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

What do you suggest? I put all that comes to mind, but... - Raditzu 00:14, 6 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

How to archive (Plus one something) edit

First, sorry for the boo-boo. I left one comment at your archive page (which is what I'm gonna do).

Now how do you archive? I've seen the "How to Archive" pages (mainly advanced Wikipedians do that) but I never archive before. This is a complex technique that I might want to master so that in the event I have to zero out the talk page, I can actually make an "episode" to save as an archive.

Just interested in knowing how to archive. — The Evil in Everyone (U * T/R * CTD) 21:33, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

P.S. Oh, in Wikipedia, I always keep myself a low profile at all times. Some cultures might have diffrent attitudes about me, admittedly.

Your signature edit

Hello there, I was wondering if you would please modify your signature to conform to the guidelines laid out at Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages. The general guidelines are that signatures shouldn't contain images, they shouldn't contain unnecessary internal links or any external links, and they shouldn't be unnecessarily long in Wiki source. The reasoning for this final bit is that overly long signatures tend to overwhelm the actual comments in edit mode, making it hard to track down and respond to specific comments. You can fix your signature by removing any images and external links, any unnecessary links (like links to Wikipedian organizations, articles, or subpages in userspace), and removing excessive color, font, and formatting code. Thank you. --Cyde↔Weys 21:36, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Can you edit

Can you tell Fbv65edel why I reverted the edit about M. Night and the director being the film? It was because I didn't have to time to reasearch and I hate speculation. Treebark (talk) 23:58, 11 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Not a problem. The way the anon worded it anyway, it sounded fake. If you're going to add stuff to Wikipedia, at least make it sound real! LOL. No really, it's fine, it actually reminded me to include it, as I had seen the news but putting it into the article completely evaded me. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 02:37, 12 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think there must be a mistake... edit

What have I removed that is considered to be vandalism. I NEVER vandalize pages, all I do is keep them up-to-date. Show me an example please. A rather miffed Cs-wolves 19:41, 13 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I was keeping the Los Angeles Dodgers roster UP-TO-DATE. Therefore, adding the date of today, 13th July 2006. Why did you change it back to the 6th?? Cs-wolves 19:43, 13 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Seems strange that its considered vandalism. I was only updating to reflect on after the All-Star Game. But, i must be wrong. Oh well. :( thanks for the warning, Cs-wolves 21:37, 13 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Massively mistaken. Cs-wolves 01:21, 14 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
