License tagging for Image:Wintersun - -2004- Wintersun.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Wintersun - -2004- Wintersun.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:10, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Actually, that is not the standard any more. Please do not re-add the big flags. Thanks. – PeeJay 17:10, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
- It has not been standard for at least a year now. Just because people haven't got round to making the necessary changes yet does not mean that the new standard is wrong. In fact, your actions are just making things more difficult for later editors. – PeeJay 18:04, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
- To be honest, the standard came about due to someone taking the time to correctly interpret WP:MOSFLAG, which states that flagicons should not be used excessively, and to have a very large flag directly underneath a box that gives the country's name right next to its flag is excessive indeed. What really needs adding is graphics of the teams' kits, using {{football kit}}. If you could add those to the World Cup pages, that would add to the value of your addition of the team lists. Cheers. – PeeJay 21:41, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
- You're not actually doing anything wrong as things stand. Unfortunately, we at WP:FOOTY (the "official" WikiProject for all articles relating to football) have never got round to doing a standard template for all articles since "standards" seem to change too often to make it worthwhile. Basically, just copy and paste bits from an article that looks good, and if a more experienced editor sees something wrong with it, I hope they'll let you know. Cheers. – PeeJay 22:07, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
- I have also thought that in the past. However, I decided to remove flags for coaches who coach their own country since I thought it was easier than getting into a fight with User:Walter Görlitz. Strictly, it could be considered excessive use of flags; I don't happen to agree, but it's pointless to get into an edit war over it. – PeeJay 22:19, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
- Please feel free to continue with your "grand project", as you call it, but if I was you, I would just hold off on adding flags to coaches who coach their own country. After all, the work needs doing and if you're willing to do it, Wikipedia would be glad for the improvement. And if you feel strongly enough about it, please raise the issue at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football. Cheers. – PeeJay 23:07, 30 March 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know about that, I wasn't aware. I'll sort it out now, if you aren't in the process of doing so already. – PeeJay 20:13, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
- No worries.I already cleaned it.
Merger of Afro-Asian Cup of Nations pages
editHi,
I noticed that you proposed the articles 1985 Afro-Asian Cup of Nations, 1991 Afro-Asian Cup of Nations, and 2007 Afro-Asian Cup of Nations for deletion. It looks like you merged the content of those articles to the Afro-Asian Cup of Nations, which would mean they can't be deleted, but instead must be redirected to that article. Also, per Wikipedia:Merging#How to merge and Help:Merging#Performing the merger, edit summaries noting the merger are needed to comply with the licenses for content that Wikipedia uses. I've redirected the merged articles and added the edit summaries, so I think the requirements are now fulfilled. Anyway, when merging pages in the future, please try to follow the steps listed at one of the pages I linked to above. Calathan (talk) 21:39, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Edit summary
editHi.
I would like you to use the edit summary so it is easy to know what you have done. No you make several changes in UEFA Champions league and I have to look at every edit to see what you do. It would be so muck easier if you used the edit summary. Thank you! Qed237 (talk) 17:13, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for trying to change! It's not the most important thing but it is good when fast changes happen like now with live matches. Qed237 (talk) 17:21, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
African football taskforce
editHi mate, I saw you temporarily added a post to WT:FOOTY suggesting that a group of people give some special attention to articles about the CAF Champions League. I realise you took the post down, but I really think a taskforce devoted to African football in general would be a good idea (just the CAF Champions League might have been a little bit too specific). If you repost, I'm sure you'd get some interest. – PeeJay 18:35, 26 October 2013 (UTC)
1986 Asian Club Championship
editYour edit "(→Final round: (removed a misquoted link. The link (as well as RSSSF) says Al Hilal 1-0 Liaoning FC, but someone misquoted it as 2-1. ))". I don't think my link is misquoted, I think my link is more correct than RSSSF, because it has more detail information about the match. RSSSF is not always true, if you don't trust my answer, please give me some evidence more beyond RSSSF. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Feelbed (talk • contribs) 18:17, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
