Military aviation edit

Hi, I see you have an interest in aviation. Do you have an interest in military aviation?--v/r - TP 15:55, 18 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, yeah, any aviation interests me! I'm addicted to it! Flyer500 (talk) 16:42, 18 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Wow I've just seen you're in the US air force. I'm just an RAF air cadet Flyer500 (talk) 16:43, 18 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
That's awesome. Good luck in school. Maybe some day I'll be saluting you. Anyway, I'm working on articles related to Pearl Harbor and my next focus is going to be on Hickam Air Force Base and Fort Kamehameha which were both integral to bringing aviation to Hawaii. Would you be interested in helping me?--v/r - TP 17:06, 18 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yeah sure, how can I help? Flyer500 (talk) 19:56, 18 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hit up your local library for books and newspaper articles related to early Hawaii or O'ahu and I'll do the same. I can get an article started in my sandbox. We can use the existing article as a start point or we can start from scratch. I always feel like I get a better article when I start from scratch. Let's me organize my thoughts better.--v/r - TP 20:01, 18 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ok I'll do that then. I'll be off to bed soon though as it's evening here in the UK. Flyer500 (talk) 20:05, 18 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hehe, it's mid morning here in Hawaii.--v/r - TP 20:06, 18 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Oh cool I hadn't realised you were actually in Hawaii Flyer500 (talk) 20:09, 18 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for July 30 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Classic Air Force, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pilots. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Classic Air Force Page edit

Hi Flyer500, Thanks for your message.

I've been working on a CAF page for some time but repeatedly had it rejected for various reasons. It's only on this latest submission that I was alerted to your existing page, which I've not been able to find before. Well done on succeeding where I'd failed!

I manage the website and marketing for Classic Air Force, which maybe gives me a few inside lines to various bits and pieces, but I don't pretend to be any kind of expert where Wikipedia is concerned (I'm probably replying to your message in the wrong place for a start). I did want to get a decent page up there though as it's an important collection of aircraft, and I felt the name was being a little hijacked by the redirection to Newquay Cornwall Airport.

Let's try to work together to make it a really great page.

Take care

Jem

Ah, makes sense! So are you flying with Jay, Kath and the others? Splendid people! I think real identities are frowned on on these pages, but you can see mine in the footer of the CAF website. We must meet up for a chat next time I'm at CVT. Take care

Wikipedia:WikiProject Aircraft edit

Thanks for signing up for this project. It is a very busy and active project with lots going on and we can always use more help and especially a fresh set of eyes. If you haven't done so already you might want to add Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft to your watch list as this is where much of the background discussion occurs. You may also want to watch Wikipedia:New articles (Aircraft) as this is where newly created articles get listed for peer review. Having a look over these new articles is a great way to get a feel for how things are done on the project and also most new articles need reviewing anyway. If you have any questions you can leave me a note or post at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft, either way you will get a quick response. - Ahunt (talk) 14:03, 19 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
