Request reason:

Hi, I am not sure what has happened here. I was not promoting anything and just started. Its a big surprise after holidays BTW. Please indicate what I did wrong here and what was promotional?? Its a shame that a public organization blocked me from editing without any notice. I was reading talk pages as well and it seems like a mystery. Please help. Flo Indi (talk) 15:14, 29 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You don't seem to understand our conflict of interest guideline or the mandatory paid editing disclosure. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 19:15, 28 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

While editing is permitted from the public, this is a private organization that can determine who uses it as it sees fit. How did you come to edit about the subjects that you did? 331dot (talk) 03:18, 30 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Thanks, yes it is a private organization for the public. I was very careful in citations and tone, so its not advert or breaching the policies. I read good faith etc as well and it seems I am blocked just because someone felt I should be. Please help me understand because it is very heart wrenching for me and my personality. While writing the page I was linking it to internal pages then edited them and filled missing citations. Should I avoid adding missing citations?Flo Indi (talk) 20:22, 30 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
How did you come to edit about the subjects that you did? 331dot (talk) 21:15, 30 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Answered that above already, here again; While writing the page I was linking it to internal pages then edited them and filled missing citations.Flo Indi (talk) 18:03, 1 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
That doesn't answer my question, so I guess I need to be more specific. What made you decide to create a draft about Jack McDonald? 331dot (talk) 18:09, 1 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oh ok, I thought you were asking about the editing of pages because I created that. Anyway, I manage news on NASDAQ and my manager asked me to create a page because he was unable to understand HTML and policies. I wrote connected contributed on the talk page as mentioned in one of the policies because I felt it could be in lines of connection. So, that's why I am asking because I didn't promoted anything at all and thinks that blocking me like this right away is against WP:Good faith. I'll appreciate any further help, thank you Flo Indi (talk) 17:44, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
So your manager is Jack McDonald? 331dot (talk) 21:32, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
You wrote the words 'connected contributor' on the talk page; if you were meaning to place the template that indicates you are a connected contributor, that didn't do it. You would need to put {{connected contributor (paid)}}(as it appears here not in the edit window; I've placed coding to suppress the display of the template). 331dot (talk) 21:36, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Hi, No not my manager, we operate NASDAQ news and often seek information from Wikipedia for research purposes. So, my Manager asked me to research about the person and affiliations of companies that we decided to put here. I am not paid for this service, so I am not sure if that's appropriate template to use but if you think this is the right template I have no issues. Should I replace it? Am I able to edit now? Or would you do that? Thank you.Flo Indi (talk) 16:54, 9 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
If you are editing at the request or direction of your manager, that is considered to be paid editing, as you would be editing as part of your job duties. 331dot (talk) 19:47, 9 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • ok thanks, I'll replace that template meanwhile I'm unable to edit. What are the next steps? Flo Indi (talk) 15:14, 12 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Apart from the page you created about Jack McDonald, are there any other articles you have edited where you have a personal connection to the subject, which might be seen as creating a conflcit of interest? JBW (talk) Formerly JamesBWatson 13:16, 13 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • no, I already answered that I was just jumping through links and randomly editing/citing.Flo Indi (talk) 18:17, 14 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • @331dot: Hi, I didn't hear back from you. I a able to continue or will remain blocked? Please do let me know Flo Indi (talk) 10:54, 19 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Hi, despite clarification I am not getting any response. I was blocked without any notice and no explanation that where I promoted someone or used anything that was promotional. I believe this is against good faith policy. I even made COI clear on the talk page and explained here. I am just willing to know how could that happen on a public platform based on someone's individual opinion. I want to appeal, where I can contact the higher authorities because I think this is personal as this new user Voggrom https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Voggrom just created an account claimed to be an admin rejected my unblock request then reverted everything and removed texts from his own page. Why would someone be interested in this so much?
As you have an open request, you don't need further requests or "Help" tags. There are no "higher authorities" to contact. Administrators are volunteer editors just like most others here, and can only do what they can when they can. While waiting for a review, you can attempt to make your request more persuasive so someone else can review it. I have warned Voggrom against claiming to be an administrator, if they persist, action will be taken. 331dot (talk) 11:31, 24 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
It is curious that someone seems to have created an account for the expressed purpose of shutting down this discussion and attempt to mislead you into evading your block. Can you think of a reason someone would want to do that? 331dot (talk) 11:47, 24 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • thanks, no I don't that's why I brought this is into your notice because you were the main investigator. The person who blocked me never explained anything and I truly believe that I didn't breached any policy and there's nothing promotional with the article or my editing. Maybe the same person wants this discussion closed but God knows, its kinda shadowy here. I was reading on a page that there are Librarians who are they and how to reach them? Flo Indi (talk) 15:19, 24 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure what you mean by 'librarians' in terms of Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 16:21, 24 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I completely disagree with the decision made. I explained everything clearly and Mr. 331dot explained COI and I told him everything. This is not fair with new user's and seems against GOOD FAITH. Someone hijacked me here, they even created a new account to decline my request, could be the guy who blocked me because his contributions are all about blocking people and moving notable content. My editing was pretty much clean and their is not a single word of promotion used. I need serious help here because this is against the use of public platform and this is to discourage new users. Flo Indi (talk) 17:02, 29 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. Yamla (talk) 16:52, 14 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
