- Give a more rounded Rugby League Notability guideline that is both without loopholes, fit for purpose and contains caveats, such as those found at the wikiprojects of other team sports.
Objectives
- Energise members to support an updated rationale.

- Define professional league structure within Europe.
- Define a global criteria based on time with varying league structures
- Address Australian term 'first-grade' and enshrine that as Oceania specific, as the grade system is massively different to the UK models
- Address stakeholders from outside Europe.
- Differentiate between Northern and Southern Hemispheres as both have wildly different league structures.
- Address any potential creep issues, and enshrine the rationale as Northern Hemisphere specific. NSW and Qld comps are not on the agenda for change.
- Seek to find out potential issues with pro players in the professional Championship being caveats, ie GNG and national coverage in the UK
- Championship has the same salary £1.85m salary cap as SL, bar the London Broncos who have a 10% London weighting
- Define the notability of clubs, with special attention for amateur clubs. Look to other wikiprojects for guidance as ORG is our best guideline at the moment.
- Eliminate confusion for infrequent or novice editors as to why some players may qualify and some may not.
- GNG issues, local papers, city and regional papers, national press. UK-centric but an issue raised.
- Deep dive into why professional rugby league players for professional rugby league clubs in a professional rugby league competition should not be notable.
- Confirm World Club Challenge and World Club Series. Cannot see that being an issue, just box ticking.
- Auckland Nines. Not currently eligibility criteria, and probably not something to be raised, except with it being a different sport in the same way as Rugby Sevens.

Analysis
- Assess the changing face of the game from 1895 in England, France in the 1930s and 1908 in Australia and New Zealand
- Fluidic nature of international game. Teams can rise and fall in the RLIF rankings very quickly. Is the RLN of up to Jan 2016 robust enough to cover this. What are the alternative proposals to the current extremely tight guidelines.
- Further assess other team sports such as Ice Hockey and their draft, Gaelic sports and their leagues and championships, Canadian Football League, Arena Football League, College Football, etc
- Address concerns with Toronto Wolfpack. Similarities in European football with Glasgow Rangers, Juventus and Fiorentina.
Implementation
- If approved at WPRL, it would be passed to notability for an approved update.
Soccer Players who have played in, and managers who have managed in any Tier 1 International Match, as defined by FIFA,[6] in a competitive senior international match at confederation level regardless of whether or not the teams are members of FIFA, or the Olympic Games. The notability of these is accepted as they would have received significant coverage as outlined above in the general notability criteria.
