Speedy deletion nomination of New Point Comfort Fire Company edit

A tag has been placed on New Point Comfort Fire Company requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. -shirulashem(talk) 18:58, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Merge of New Point Fire Company edit

Hi, I put the content from the article you created into the main article for Keansburg, New Jersey. -shirulashem(talk) 19:00, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Keansburg emergency services edit

Your recent edits to the article for Keansburg, New Jersey raise several issues. The Wikipedia Manual of Style specifies that section headings be in Sentence case, with the initial word capitalized and all other words in lower case (other than proper nouns), so we should have "Local government" (not "Local Government"). HTML inline links were added for both Keansburg Fire Company No. 1 and New Point Comfort Fire Company No. 1, again contrary to policy and already included in references to each of the organizations in subsequent paragraphs. The details regarding each police chief and a listing of the 1948 department roster are unencyclopedic, as is a list of address information and phone numbers. These changes will be removed again. Please feel free to contact me on my talk page with any questions. Alansohn (talk) 14:37, 23 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Greetings, Fireems71. I saw your comments on Alansohn's talk page, and I wanted to let you know that that sort of incivility is not appropriate on Wikipedia. When you contribute to Wikipedia, anyone is welcome to improve material you add. That's the nature of a wiki. They are not "your posts", and it is not a case of "Poking where you don't belong". It may be helpful for you to read Wikipedia:Ownership of articles.
In reviewing the edits to Keansburg, New Jersey, I can confirm that Alansohn's edits are perfectly proper. Though the changes you made were in good faith, many go against our manual of style or introduce issues of balance. Certainly listing individual phone numbers is not encyclopedic, for instance.
You are welcome to continue to edit Wikipedia, but please get a feel for our policies and guidelines, and remember to be civil. Further acts of incivility could result in being blocked from editing. – Quadell (talk) 15:40, 23 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
When a user logs on, they are precisely their posts. That's what the information sharing contributions of Wiki are all about. Maybe a notice for someone to report drug activity or to call 911 in an emergency is your idea of posting a simple phone number, but I disagree. When someone is looking for specific information regarding a subject, everything I posted is relevant. It's funny that all of these "master editors" have all been receiving accolades in regards to the number of pages that they edit. You mention that I do not know the rules of Wiki, when in fact, I am following the rules by entering pertinent encyclopedic information regarding the Borough of Keansburg as a whole. You also state that websites are not welcome, well, what better place to get more information regarding something is the source itself? Go play in someone else's sandbox.

New model of interaction required edit

Hi. I'm an admin here on Wikipedia and I just commented on your post at ANI. I wanted to follow up here as well.

You seem to have the wrong idea about how to work here. We're collaborative here and telling folks to "BACK OFF" is not a workable model here for basic interaction.

Judging by the highly confrontational note you left on your user page, it appears that you don't understand that this is a collaborative project and you can't bully your way through the project. I encourage you to review Wikipedia:Five pillars and severely adjust your mode of interaction with other editors. If that doesn't happen, you have no place on Wikipedia and will be blocked from editing. Toddst1 (talk) 20:08, 23 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

The other admin is not adding to the project, he/she is simply deleting my work and citing the rules of Wiki as his authority. Much if not almost everything I added is relevant to the page and is useful information. There is no collaborative project is one user who happens to be an Admin is simply allowed to delete the work of another simply at his discretion. I am looking for help with this project, not looking for admins to stick together and threaten to ban me from the site. I encourage you to review my postings and let me know if everything that I added is inappropriate.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Jimmy Coonan.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Jimmy Coonan.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
