AfD nomination of Trauma in film edit

I have nominated Trauma in film, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Trauma in film. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Suggestion edit

Hi, I wanted to let you know that you are welcome to work on a subpage about the topics in which you're interested. I'd also like to suggest that you do some basic editing and reading in the meantime to get an idea of how topics are explored on Wikipedia. Depending on the outcome of the AFDs, you can userfy these articles to develop outside the mainspace. Here's a personal example: I've worked on Fight Club (film) for quite some time, and I am planning a related article regarding academic studies of the film: User:Erik/Interpretations of the film Fight Club. I haven't really begun work on it, but I wanted to show you how you can begin working on a topic, ask other editors for review, and implement it as an article when you feel the topic wouldn't be questionable like it is now. Let me know if you have any questions! —Erik (talkcontrib) - 18:22, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppetry case edit

You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Filmtrauma for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. Ice Cold Beer (talk) 21:05, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • yes, i thought i had familiarized myself with what to do when your article gets put up for AfD discussion. I thought the list I was creating was well within the realm of acceptable ways to handle the situation, particularly since I specifically noted what I thought would work and what I thought to try on the AfD before beginning. Moreover, another user has pointed out that I can start pages without publishing them in future to avoid this kind of misunderstanding. Thank you. Filmtrauma (talk) 22:53, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
You should probably go here and defend yourself. Ice Cold Beer (talk) 18:08, 26 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
You've been blocked for 24 hours and Tamarleigh indef. See Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Filmtrauma. RlevseTalk 14:45, 27 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I now understand what was meant by sockpuppetry. It makes sense someone thought it was sockpuppetry, since my sibling, Tamarleigh, helped to create the original article. It was not, in fact, sockpuppetry, but nonetheless, understandable confusion. User_talk:Filmtrauma

I don't think the confusion was understandable whatsoever. I think that participating in a limited way in one discussion is VERY typical behavior for a new user on a web site. I'd like to note that it took me FOUR YEARS to get the block lifted after this. I think this incident reflects very badly on Wikipedia. Tamarleigh (talk) 17:06, 3 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've now noticed that now I am apparently forever listed as "suspected sockpuppet" in the "suspected sockpuppets/Filmtrauma" page and have been unfairly and inaccurately criticized in the AFD pages for both of the deleted pages in question. I'd also like to note that the user RLevese, who blocked me unfairly, no longer has an account on Wikipedia, and that the user Archtransit, who said on this page that he'd "talk with the accused sock" didn't talk with me and was desysopped less than a month later and was banned completely thereafter for abusive use of accounts and (wait for it...) SOCKPUPPETRY. The "suspected sockpuppets" page for the original article has been closed to further edits, which means that I am not able to defend myself (now that 4 years later I am finally unblocked and therefore ABLE to defend myself) on that page, so I am listed as a sock puppet on that page. It even took NINE MONTHS from the unblock request being approved, before the block was actually lifted. I would like to be able to note for the record IN THE "Suspected Sockpuppets" page for this article, and in the AFD discussions, that the sockpuppetry charge was found to be without merit, and that the block was lifted. But since that page is closed to further edits, I can't. I think that to leave it that way, without noting that I was CLEARED of the sockpuppetry charge and it turned out that the one who blocked me was banned completely for actual sockpuppetry, is grossly and patently unfair. But because I was blocked for such an egregious length of time, the pages were closed to further edits, and goodness knows if I edit them now to try to clear my name, I'll probably get blocked for THAT! My name is unique, and I do not appreciate being unable to clear it for the record. I am just posting this here because I don't know where else to post it. But I actually think you should change your username, since "filmtrauma" was the name you chose when that particular issue was your focus, and that was a long time ago now. It's just that I've been muzzled pretty much this entire time and am only now able to express my indignation about the false accusations and subsequent silencing of my ability to defend myself against them.
