Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, please see how to appeal a block. Alexf(talk) 12:35, 26 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

i'm a new user of the wikipedia and didn't aware of the edit guides and user name guide, my intention is to put on update and correct info only and of no intention of any advertising or promotion, if a change of user name would avoid the confusion, i'm willing to change the existing user name to Fwmo instead, please review my request accordingly

Decline reason:

The suggested name does not seem to alleviate your intent to promote. Please choose something that has nothing to do with your business. Kuru (talk) 03:03, 27 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

i'm a beginner of wikipedia and i have to admit that i had not read through all guidelines when creating the account and attempt to contribute in an article. But i never meant to "promote" in wikipedia, the 3 key principles will be borne in mind and please be assured that any violations will be avoided in my best endeavor. please review the request again and thank you for your time. Please have only one unblock request open at a time. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:26, 28 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Daniel Case (talk) 03:33, 27 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

You have not fully addressed the reasons for your unblock. In particular, you have made no attempt to follow the instruction in the block notice to "Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked". Both your user name and the editing you did before being blocked suggest that your purpose in editing Wikipedia is to promote Festival Walk. If you wish to edit other articles on subjects with which you have no personal connection it will probably be fine. If, however, you intend to continue to edit Festival Walk then you really have a bit of explaining to do if you wish to convince us that this will not cause problems with a conflict of interest. Generally speaking it is not a good idea to edit articles on subjects to which you have an affiliation. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:33, 28 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
