Felony Girl edit

A tag has been placed on Felony Girl, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Felony Girl and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Gilo1969 (talk) 22:19, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Advertising edit

Please do not use Wikipedia for advertising. Friday (talk) 22:30, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's not about tax brackets or profits. It's about sources. Has this magazine gotten significant coverage in reliable sources? Without sources, there can be no article. Friday (talk) 22:46, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Oh, I see... So - you just automatically delete without checking for sources? Whatever dude.

I checked the article. There were no sources there. If there are sources, by all means include them, and I won't delete the article. There are a great many websites in the world, but few of them can have Wikipedia articles. Friday (talk) 22:50, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, there are a great many websites in the world... but 8 times out of 10 - they usually have a ref in wiki. Ill check on the sources and get back to you

According to alexa.com, these sites don't get significant traffic. I've had many websites in my day, and none of them have ever had Wikipedia articles. It's really a tiny percentage. Anyway, with no sources, someone else is probably going to come along and delete this. I don't think Wikipedia is going to do what you wanted it to do. Even if there are sources and the article is kept, you're not going to be able to control the content of it. It's simplest all around to do your promotion on your own website. Alexa is only as good as the number of people have the toolbar installed... Kind of like election polls, its good to make conversation - but, in the end, it has no significance in the real world. But, anyway, Im sure you have more important things to do... Fridays coming up and you have more net to patrol :-)
