Felix, please do not create new articles simply by copying and pasting text from articles on other websites. These sites are covered by copyright law (even if they do not explicitly assert copyright on the site or page). Wikipedia has strict policies that disallow direct copying of copyrighted material. I have had to delete your article Bagnall 0-4-0ST "Alfred" and "Judy" since it was a direct copy of the text of pages at The Bodmin and Wenford Railway. Thanks, Gwernol 01:14, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Clive Spong

Felix, a few hints for you:

1) Editors are not on Wikipedia 24 hours a day. Just because you don't get a reply within 30 seconds does not mean someone is ignorning you, it may just mean they are off doing something else

2) SHOUTING AT PEOPLE IN ALL CAPS is a sure-fired way to get your question ignored

3) Demanding an answer over and over again is another certain way to get your question ignored

4) Leaving messages on your own talk page is generally not a good way to get someone's attention. The usual etiquette at Wikipedia is to politely ask a question on the talk page of the user you want to contact.

5) I have no special relationship to the publisher of Thomas the Tank Engine books. I have no idea if Clive Spong is alive or not, or any other information like that. Demanding answers to questions that I have no way of answering is not going to get you anywhere.

6) You have no right to get any and every question you might ask answered. Getting angry and abusive towards someone is a very, very poor way to get them to help you. If you persist in being incivil you may find yourself blocked from editing Wikipedia again.

At least where to find out about him? I just want to know when was he born. Felix 10:22, 22 July 2006

Forgiveness

Sorry if I'm mad.

I am really sorry for asking over and over.

Felix 17:58, 3 July 2006.

Suggestion

I have a suggestion to make, if you don't know Christopher Awdry's e-mail address, then how about instead write a letter to him and Clive Spong: Dear Christopher Awdry and Clive Spong,

Felix asked me if you two would make a book called Mountain Diesels and New Engines, a sequel to Mountain Engines, because Felix adds the diesels and other engines on the Culdee Fell Railway article and I had to remove them. Please make the book and when it's sold in Amazon.co.uk and making Google find it in any mention, I'll re-add the rest of the engines on the Culdee Fell Railway,

Sincerely, Gwernol.

Felix 18:08, 3 July 2006

I'm sorry but I am not your personal secretary. If you want to write to him, perhaps you should do it. Gwernol 01:14, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Hmm. Maybe I should. I guess it's the only way to get Mr. Awdry to understand why the other engines are removed. Felix 19:54, 23 July 2006

Im sure if and its a big if Christopher Awdry has read the Wikipedia Culdee Fell articles and this talk page he will know why the other engies have been removed as they have never been created by him, his father or the makers of the TV series and so are not canon. Im sorry but once again I must ask you to see sense about this matter and realise that there will never be a sequel to Mountain Engines because Im sure that if there ever was going to be one than one of the Awdrys would have written it in the 1960s, 70s or 80s before control of the Railway Series passed from them to the TV people Penrithguy 01:05, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Yeah right. Felix 20:11, 23 July 2006

The Culdee Fell Railway is based on the Snowdon Mountain Railway. The SMR has diesels, according to the pictures, besides steam engines. I think the CFR should have diesels too. Felix 20:15, 23 July 2006

Well yes but you must understand that Mr Awdry is unable as much Im sure he would like to write more stories about Sodor's railways and as people on this page have told you before even if he could it would be very unlikely for him to take someone else's (eg: yours) ideas for new engines on the Culdee Fell Railway. Penrithguy 01:22, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

I hope he will accept my idea. Felix 20:22, 23 July 2006

Well you can hope but I woludnt hope too much. I personally wouldn't mind seeing stories about the branch lines of Sodor that are shown on the maps but have never been mentioned in the stories or more about the Mid Sodor Railway but I know this will never happen. Penrithguy 01:31, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Doesn't the Snowdon Mountain Railway had diesels working on the railway besides steam engines? Can't Ninian, Yeti, Peris and George have their own CFR counterparts? Felix 20:34, 23 July 2006

Yes its quite possible that the CFR could have diesels working on it but only the owners of the Railway Series (who are not the Awdry family) can licence books to be written about them and assign them names not fans of the books like ourselves Penrithguy 01:41, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

The CFR will have diesels and the other engines (the other engines were the ones transferred from various rack railways to the CFR), when I sent the letter I wrote to Mr. Awdry to him. Here are what the other engines were transferred from:

Also, Maisy, Nate and Rover were based on the diesel railcars from the SMR.

The basises of the diesels:

  • Norman - Ninian
  • Betty - Yeti
  • Phyllis - Peris
  • George - George (same name)

License tagging for Image:13862.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:13862.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Thanks for uploading Image:Douglas'spic.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. Please do not upload copyrighted images

An image that you uploaded, Image:Alfred2.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Gwernol 01:21, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Felix, please stop uploading images that you have found on the web. Several of these are definite copyright violations, and I suspect that others are too. I m working my way through the list and will tag copyrighted images and list them here. Until you understand Wikipedia's copyright rules I suggest you stop copying text from websites and copying images from websites as this will lead to trouble for Wikipedia and may lead to you being blocked from editing again. Thanks, Gwernol 01:24, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

But every article needs pictures

Felix 20:33, 3 July 2006.

While its certainly preferable to have pictures for every article, that does not mean you can illegally copy anything you like. When you add content to Wikipedia it is automatically licensed using the GFDL. If the work is already copyrighted under a different license (as most content form websites is) then adding it to Wikipedia is an infringement of the copyright holder's legal rights. This means both Wikipedia and you could potentilly be taken to court and in the worst case forced to pay damages. This is not something that you want to have happen. Please take a moment to read more about this at the copyright FAQ which explains this in more detail. Thanks, Gwernol 01:48, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Continued uploading of likely copyrighted images

Felix,

I asked you nicely to stop uploading images you have copied from websites, which likely violate copyright laws. You have continued to upload these images. I am now officially warning you to stop uploading images immediately. If you do not do so, I will have no option but to block you from editing Wikipedia, given your history of disruptive editing in the past. Please consider this your only warning. TV Series

When will the Culdee Fell Railway appear in the television series? It feels like it's been ages.

Felix 21:05, 3 July 2006.

This is meant constructively, not offensively. You need to understand that the TV Series and the Railway Series are two completely different series, although one came from the other they have ended up quite different.
My answer to your question, though, is most likely never.
Gonzerelli 07:04, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
PS - I will not be watching your user page or talk page, so don't try to address me here, address me directly.
The Culdee Fell Railway is unlikely to ever appear on television. It would be prohibitively expensive to produce eight new engine characters as well as the appropriate coaches and trucks, as well the huge sets you'd need, just for four stories. Plus, the television series hasn't used stories from the books since Season 4.
Tom

Why? No models? Not enough time in Season 4? Felix 18:48, 3 August 2006

Discussion about the article

Doesn't every article needs pictures?

Felix 21:45 AM, 4 July 2006

Please read my answer above. Again, just posting the same question over and over does nothing but infuriate those who are trying to help you. Gwernol 14:54, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Articles

I'm telling you articles need pictures, that's all. Felix 10:57, 4 July 2006

I agree, but that doesn't mean you can copy someone else's image. Its illegal and against the rules of Wikipedia. You can only add images to Wikipedia that you have the legal rights to. To do this you can:
1) Take your own pictures and give Wikipedia permission to use them
2) Get permission from the copyright owner to use images on Wikipedia
3) Find public domain images that can be used on Wikipedia

Thomas the Tank Engine

Gwernol, what do you think of this pic of Thomas the Tank Engine? Felix 12:23, 4 July 2006

From a copyright viewpoint its probably okay since you've made an original alteration to a (maybe) copyrighted work. I am not a lawyer though so can't give you a definitive answer. You do need to add your own license to the image though, as currently it is unlicensed and will be deleted. Which article are you planning to add this to? What will it add to the article? Is it encyclopedic? Gwernol 17:32, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Culdee the Mountain Engine

Hopefully Season 10. Felix 13:52, 4 July 2006

Christopher Awdry's Address

What's Christopher Awdry's address? I need to write it down, so I can put it in my mailbox, so Christopher will understand me. I already wrote the message to Christopher Awdry, except for his address. Felix 15:12, 4 July 2006.

Unlicensed Images

Hi again Felix,

I see you have uploaded a series of your fan pics. These are good. However I see that you have not provided sources or licenses for any of these. When you upload an image you'll see a form that has several fields for you to fill in. In the summary field you must enter the source for the image. For images you have created yourself, enter something like "Author: Felix Chang" which tells us that you created the image.

You'll also see a field called Licensing which has a drop-down menu of options. You must choose one of these. In your case, since these are images you created, you probably want to use the "GFDL (self made)" option from the menu (its near the top). Once you do this you are allowing anyone to use your image for any purpose.

If you don't nominate a source and license for your image it will be deleted from Wikipedia after about 10 days. All images on Wikipedia must have a source and a license.

Thanks, Gwernol 20:55, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Non Televised Characters Page

Hi Felix, and thanks for creating the Non Televised characters page for Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. However, given that all the charascters mentioned on this page are only seen in the Railway Seies, and some not at all (Toby's brothers for example), the Members of WikiProject Thomas are planning to create a Minor Characters (The Railway Series) page for characters such as these. If you'd like more information, check the Talk page of WikiProject Thomas for information on how the characters will be separated.

Thanks. Thehalford 05:22, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

I have put this page up for Speedy Deletion, as it is absurd to have a "non-televised characters" page for a TV series. Thehalford has covered further reasoning, that the characters will be discussed in the appropriate Railway Series-related articles. Gonzerelli 07:00, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Christopher Awdry

What's Christopher Awdry's address? I need it so the mailman will understand who this is sent to.

I apologise but as it has been stated on this page and the talk page for your previous username it is unlikely that Christopher Awdry would publish your ideas for a Mountain Diesels story due to copyright and royalties problems and the fact due to the dispute with Britt Allcrofft, HIT Entertainment and others he has not written any stories directly relating to the Railway Series for many years Penrithguy 20:38, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

I see you've just created the article 0-6-4-0. To the best of my knowledge this wheel arrangement hasn't been used on any real locomotives. If it has, please include a reference to the loco (not one you made up of course) in the article. Otherwise I feel the article ought to be deleted. Mountain Diesels and New Engines

I really want that book to be made and sold in Amazon.co.uk and making Google find it in any mention. Then you'll re-add the additions to the Culdee Fell Railway.

Felix 15:37, 5 July 2006

Not meaning to be rude or patronising but to be realsitic I think you must coem to the conclusion that the book will probably never be written and these "Mountain Diesels" that are purely a figment of your teenage imagination will never appear on Wikipedia Penrithguy 20:47, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Please. I want it to be made. That way, the additions from the Culdee Fell Railway will no longer be reverted.

Felix 15:47, 5 July 2006

Just because you want something to be made doesn't mean it will be. There are lots of people who have lots of ideas for new Railway Series volumes. You are no different to thousands of people. As it stands, adding stuff about your Mountain Diesels volume to the CFMR page is unnecessary as it is not real information, and likely to stay that way. Thehalford 02:30, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

No way. No how. I don't want those to stay that way. Felix 10:15, 7 August 2006

I DON'T WANT THEM TO STAY THAT WAY!!!!!!! Felix Cheng 14:23, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Felix, a suggestion:

  • Firstly I suggest you read the following Wikipedia articles: Fan fiction; Fanon (fiction).
  • Having done so I would suggest you register an account at FanFiction.net (go here), and then go to their section dedicated to Thomas the Tank Engine. You can then submit your own "Mountain Diesels" story - I'm sure there are people there who would love to read it. After all, you might as well do something useful until your Wikipedia block expires.
  • If and when you have written it - put a link to it on your User Page so people here can look if they want to (but please don't add links to articles or their talk pages.)

Hopefully we can all get on with writing an encyclopedia - something we hope you will do to (according to THE RULES) when your block expires.

Good luck --=# Amos E Wolfe talk #=- 15:02, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

This is just boring having eight engines on the CFR. I WANT MORE!!!!! Felix Cheng 17:17, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Culdee Fell Railway

Can there be the additions re-added once after Christopher Awdry will be confirmed to make the book "Mountain Diesels and New Engines"? Please. I want the additions to re-appear. I really do want the additions to be re-added.

Felix 16:32, 5 July 2006

Models of the Snowdon Mountain Railway

Are there models of the Snowdon Mountain Railway locomotives?

Felix 16:38, 5 July 2006

CFMR

Why can't the book be made? I don't want the diesels from the Culdee Fell Railway reverted.

Felix 9:26, 6 July 2006

Please, everybody. I don't like having the Culdee Fell Railway's diesels being vandalism and reverted again. Are there models of the Snowdon Mountain Railway Locomotives?

Felix 13:08, 6 July 2006

Accusations of vandalism should not be thrown around lightly, Felix. There are no diesels on the Culdee Fell Railway, no matter how much you wish it so. It is extraordinarily unlikely that Christopher Awdry will write a book about them, because he hasn't published a book in 10 years and doesn't have a contract from the owners of the Railway Series that would allow him to do so. Please let this go: it isn't going to be included in Wikipedia. Gwernol 18:15, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Noooo!!!!! Oh, I'm doomed!!!

Felix 13:16, 6 July 2006

Let me get this straight. The reason you want these books to be made is simply so that your fake entries won't be deleted? Why don't you just go to a fan fiction site or something instead of wasting your time and ours? It's quite clear that you don't understand how publishing and writing work. There are copyright issues. There are financial issues.
In any case, Christopher Awdry has said that the Culdee Fell Railway is almost impossible to write for, which is why he never wrote any stories about it while the Railway Series was still expanding.

Tom

I think the letter will probably get Mr. Awdry to understand why the other engines I added to the main CFR article are reverted and removed. I think writing a letter to him is the only way that he'll publish the book. Felix 20:45, 22 July 2006

But he won't, because he isn't in charge of what gets published. The publishers are. If you want more Railway Series books, you'd be better off writing to Egmont.

Publishers like Clive Spong? Felix 13:05, 3 August 2006

Clive Spong is an illustrator not a publisher. You wrote the article on Clive Spong, so how could you not know he's an illustrator, Felix? Gwernol 18:08, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Then who are the publishers of Mr. Awdry's books? Felix 18:46, 3 August 2006

However, there were diesels in the Snowdon Mountain Railway, according to the pics in the main article. Can't Ninian, Yeti, Peris, George and the Diesel railcars have their fictional counterparts? Felix 9:30, 26 July 2006

There could be, but there aren't. Obviously you've never read Sodor: Reading Between the Lines. There isn't even enough traffic for eight locomotives, and Ernest and Wilfred have been withdrawn. Tom

It's because I don't have Sodor: Reading Between the Lines. Felix 19:36, 9 August 2006

Is sodor.co.uk a website to contact Mr. Awdry's publishers? Felix 13:54, 9 August 2006

Felix - one of the reasons why a sequel to 'Mountain Engines' was never made is because there are no authentic incidences to base stories on. To quote Christopher Awdry in 'RBTL' - 'Though 'incidents' at Snowdon may perhaps seem over-frequent, one of the reasons why the book has never bad a successor is largely because, since the line is unique to Britian, there are in fact very few authentic incidents on which stories can be based'. Taking this into account, it is therefore impossible for your fantasy book about 'Mountain Diesels' to exist.

Another thing I would like to say is that your argument about the diesel engines is flawed. You keep saying that because Snowdon has diesel engines, therefore the CVR must have them too. To once again quote Awdry - 'Though the Culdee Fell Railway has close affinities with the Snowdon Mountain Railway in North Wales, I do not believe that my father intended any of the engines...to be specifically assossiated with any of the SMR locomotives'. This proves that despite their similarities, the two railways are unique, and are not meant to mirror each other down to the detail. Therefore, your argument is flawed. 84.69.89.232 20:22, 16 August 2006 (UTC)MPorter23

How about Egmont should publish books? Felix 15:33, 16 August 2006

Why did I even bother. I knew it would be a waste of time. It's your funeral I suppose. 84.69.89.232 20:59, 16 August 2006 (UTC)MPorter23

I did contact Egmont. Felix 15:59, 16 August 2006

That's not what I meant. I meant its your problem wasting your time on something that isn't going to happen. Why can't you just deal with the facts - your imaginary books and characters aren't going to get published. You can dream about it by all means, and you can write your own stories. But they will go no further then that. As I said, it's your funeral if you want to continue this charade. 84.69.89.232 21:26, 16 August 2006 (UTC)MPorter23

More about CFR

I wrote a message to Christopher Awdry, Gwernol. I think the old station house, Oundle, Peterborough, PE8 5LA is possibly his exact address. He might understand me about publishing the book Mountain Diesels and New Engines once the message is sent to him. I also need to print out the other characters from the Culdee Fell Railway at Paint (the program), so Christopher Awdry would use the pics for the illustrations. Once the book's complete, he'll sell it in Amazon.co.uk and in many stores (inculding USA) and making sure there's a Google search to find it in any mention. By the way, are there or are there not models of the Snowdon Mountain Railway locomotives, coaches and trucks?

Image tagging

Felix,

Do not tag images as public domain, which obviously aren't public domain. It's lying, and it's theft. We're trying to create an open-content encyclopaedia, not a stolen content encyclopaedia. Continue in such a manner and you may be blocked from editing. — Dunc| 20:43, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Sorry. Felix 15:38, 7 July 2006

Okay, the following are based on images licensed in Wikipedia, which may be altered (though the original authors might not like the somewhat bizarre alterations)

But you must identify the original author, and the source of the image (which you have not done). The rest will have to be deleted. — Dunc| 21:41, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Blocked for 24 hours

Despite warnings to the contrary, you are uploading copyrighted images tagged as GFDL or public domain.

You have also a history of inserting your own fan fiction into Thomas the Tank Engine related articles.

The rest of your behaviour is utterly bizarre, and I can't help but think you are trying to take the piss.

I am therefore going to block you for 24 hours. If you continue to lie and steal other people's images, then you will face stiffer sanctions. — Dunc| 16:12, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

PS I have also just spent 15 minutes deleting all the mess you've made. If you upload any more copyright images, I will delete them on sight. — Dunc| 16:39, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Can Christopher publish books about all the locomotives, people and road character from this web page Own Character Ideas And Images and [4]?

You are kidding, aren't you? If (and it's a very big if) Christopher Awdry is allowed to write any further Railway Series volumes, he'll be using his own material, his own characters and his own inspiration. Like it or not, he's not going to use characters fans have made up. Thehalford 03:27, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm serious. I really want him to.

Felix 9:18, 12 July 2006

Are there models of the Snowdon Mountain Railway? Felix 9:24, 12 July 2006

Felix? Are you for real?? I know that according to your user page you are only 14 but surely you are old enough to understand the difference between canon fiction and fan fiction which is what your "engines" are and besides Sodor is supposed to be a small island and is unlikely to have that many engines working on its railways. By the way did you send your letter to Christopher Awdry you do realise don't you that Mr Awdry doesn't live in America and that you would have to send the letter via Airmail from the USA to the UK and put UK after the post (ZIP) code. As for the Snowdon models I would suggest getting in touch with the Snowdon Mountain Railway as it doesnt seem like any one on Wikipedia knows Penrithguy 17:40, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

No. I have not yet sent the letter to Christopher Awdry. I have to write the story about Mountain Diesels and New Engines. Also, I had to wait for printing ink to print out the other Culdee Fell Railway characters for the illustrations. Felix 13:13, 12 July 2006

I can't wait for Christopher Awdry to publish that book! It's boring having eight steam locomotives on the Culdee Fell Railway article. Everyone, according to the additions of the Non-Britain Characters (The engines who were transferred from various rack railways to the Culdee Fell Railway), the title of the book by Christopher Awdry should be Mountain Diesels and New Engines, not just Mountain Diesels. Also, I really want Christopher to publish books about the following characters from Own Characters Ideas And Images and MORE CHARACTER IDEAS and my own locomotive ideas:

Own Character Ideas And Images

MORE CHARACTER IDEAS

  • Stacey the Special Coach
  • Mick the Mallard (based on LNER Class A4)
  • Andrew the Sentinal Lorry
  • Marcos the Great Western Engine (based on GWR 0-6-0 No. 3205)
  • Jim, James's Twin (he is identical to James)

My own locomotive ideas

FelixCheng 16:14, 12 July 2006

I'm serious. I 'really' want him to.

Felix 9:18, 12 July 2006

Look, just because you really want something doesn't mean it will happen, does it? Bleating about it on Wiki isn't going to help your cause either. And why is it boring having only 8 locos on the CFR? Honestly... Thehalford 02:38, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Smokey Joe is owned by Hornby. It's their creation, it's been in their range since 1983, it will never be used in the Railway Series.
There are lots of Thomas fans who would like to see new Railway Series books, including Christopher Awdry himself. It ain't gonna happen.

Tom

It's just boring having 8 locos at the CFR. There will be more locos when I sent the message to Christopher Awdry. I can't, unless I have enough ink to print out the story and the pics for the illustrations. Felix 10:11, 13 July 2006

I am very serious. I really want those characters to appear in their books by Christopher Awdry. Felix 10:14, 13 July 2006

Felix we have all got that you are serious. Unfortunately that's not going to make them magically appear. Your enthusiasm is completely unrelated to the likelihood of the books appearing. They simply are not going to get written. Please drop the subject, the patience of a number of editors and admins here is wearing thin. Thanks, Gwernol 15:25, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

It isn't fair! Felix 10:23, 13 July 2006

There's nothing unfair about it. Its the way the world works and is that way to protect authors from unscrupulous outsiders suing them (I'm not suggesting you want to do this, by the way). Complaining about it on Wikipedia is doing nothing but annoy a bunch of people who have no way to change this. Gwernol 15:33, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

How come the Island of Sodor is very small? What's the big deal? Felix 16:48, 20 July 2006

The Island of sodor was created in the 1950s by the Rev W Awdry as a setting for his books he placed the island within the British Isles at a point in the Irish Sea between the Isle of Man and the Furness penisula in North West England the distance between Man and Furness is only something like 40 miles or so and that is why Sodor is small although the TV version seems to be considerably larger and has no connections to any other islands although it is undoubtebly British. Penrithguy 21:54, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Can it likely have that many engines working on its railways? Felix 16:59, 20 July 2006

I mean, in TV, the Island of Sodor is larger. It should have these engines from Own Character Ideas And Images and MORE CHARACTER IDEAS working on its railways. Felix 17:02, 20 July 2006

Yes the TV version could have more engines but it would be ones they have created themselves not suggestions from fans. As for the Railway Series version if Sodor was a real places the number of engines that are supposedly running on its lines would probably be too many. Penrithguy 22:07, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

I seriously (a big seriously) want those engines to become notable so I can Wikify them. Felix 17:15, 20 July 2006

Im sorry but I think you are going to have to grow up a little bit and realise that it is never going to happen and as someone else suggested and also I have to you on the talk page of another article use the Fan Fiction section of the Sodor Island Forums site to write about these engines yourselves although just because you have wrote a story on the Net does not mean its characters can be "Wikified". Penrithguy 22:21, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

At least where to contact the makers? Felix 17:32, 20 July 2006

Try looking at the Thomas section of this site [5] they will probably have a contact address. Im sorry but cant talk any longer its nearly midnight and I got to be up for work at 4.30am Penrithguy 22:36, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Thank you very much. Felix 18:35 20 July 2006

Fair Use images

Please stop adding Fair Use images to your userpage such as those of the TUGS characters. You can only use Fair Use images on articles directly related to the subject of the image. In particular user pages are never an appropriate place to put a Fir Use image. Thanks, Gwernol 15:33, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Felix you cannot use those TUGS images on your user page. It is illegal. I've removed them. If you readd them I will block you from editing. Thanks, Gwernol 15:38, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

It isn't fair. I want to upload TUGS on my user page. Felix 10:33, 13 July 2006.

It is fair. Did you read the Fair Use license you used on those images? It clearly states that they can only be used to illustrate articles about the subject of the image. You are being granted a special exemption to regular copyright laws for this one particular case. Your user page is quite clearly about you, not about the TUGS characters. Please take care to read and understand the licenses you use on images. Thanks, Gwernol 15:42, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

YouTube

One thing, Gwernol, why did the users from YouTube removed the episodes from Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends? For example, Nanaki001, Shining23, jw24, benr1512, Damo833, mousepound64 (removes only Edward the Really Useful Engine and Thomas and the Jet Engine), Canyouguess and supermetriod26 had entirely removed all the Thomas the Tank Engine episodes. Why do they do that? How come Nanaki001 flagged Sore Ga, Ai Deshou (the Thomas the Tank Engine version), thomasandtoby1 flagged part 1 of the Bachmann Episodes, Percy's Branchline and benr1512 flagged Thomas and the effects of drinking? Is there a block on YouTube from removing videos? Felix 10:41, 13 July 2006

I have no idea. None. I don't have anything to do with YouTube. This is Wikipedia. Completely separate. If you want to know why someone on YouTube did soemthing, why not go and ask those people? Gwernol 15:51, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Good point. Felix 10:49, 13 July 2006

I would have thought it was for copyright reasons (please read simple:Copyright, Felix). You can't take other people's work and spread it around the Internet unless they give you permission. If everyone could download TTTE episodes for free from the Internet, then Hit Entertainment would make no money and no more TTTE episodes would be produced. You wouldn't want that would you? — Dunc| 21:32, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Why didn't YouTube upload an Ojamajo Doremi music video with You're Beautiful by James Blunt? Felix 21:00, 18 July 2006

If you have issues with YouTube (whatever that is) take it up with them not on here Penrithguy 20:05, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Did these users violate copyrights? Is that why they remove the TTTE episodes? Felix 15:10, 20 July 2006

Ya sure the YouTube users are clumsy or something since they remove the TTTE episodes? Felix 12:55, 26 July 2006

Thomas and Friends

No. Felix 19:34, 13 July 2006

Here are some TTTE quizzes for you:

Which two TTTE characters were based on the LNER Class A3 and the J70 Tram Engine?

  • A) Thomas and Percy
  • B) Edward and James
  • C) Gordon and Toby

What colour is Duncan in the television series and railway series books?

  • A) Green and Blue
  • B) Red and Yellow
  • C) Purple and Orange

When will the Culdee Fell Railway appear in television?

  • A) Season 10
  • B) Season 11
  • C) Season 12

What are the TTTE face-masks made out of?

  • A) Clay
  • B) Plastic
  • C) Wood

What does JTRE (James the Red Engine) based on besides the Class 28, the rebuild of John Aspinall's Class 27, designed by George Hughes?

  • A) Caledonian Railway 812 Class
  • B) Snowdon Mountain Railway's No. 1 "LADAS"
  • C) Austrian Goods of the Glasgow and South Western Railway

Felix 19:42, 13 July 2006

In order, C, B, D - NEVER, D - Resin and A.
The CFR will not be appearing on television, so please stop thinking that it will. Thehalford 02:46, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Actually, James the Red Engine resembles the Austrian Goods of the Glasgow and South Western Railway. That's C. Felix 13:06, 14 July 2006

Gordon the Big Engine is based the A3, right? Felix 13:12, 14 July 2006

Season 10 from Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends is very unusual, it consists 14 episodes unlike the earlier seasons, which had 26. Is Season 10 the only season with 14 episodes? Are Duck, Oliver, Donald, Douglas and Sir Handel going to come back? Hopefully, the CFR, AR (Arlesdale Railway), Ivo Hugh, Neil, D199, D7101, Wilbert, Sixteen and Fred the Maintenance Diesel will appear for the first time. Felix 13:21, 14 July 2006

Is resin even material? Felix 20:44, 18 July 2006

Felix, your 14 and you must understand that HIT entertainment don't take notice of the Ralway Series characters anymore. They won't make Bear, Wilbert, 16, even the Arlesdale railway engines. Thomas is now just a corporate logo. Not th small fun-loving tank engine he used to be. BoCo 9:21am, 20 July 2006

What's resin? Felix 20:41, 23 July 2006

Check this link: Resin Penrithguy 01:47, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Is resin the material that's used to make the engines's faces? Felix 20:47, 23 July 2006

Bodmin and Wensford Railway Images

Felix,

I see you have just uploaded images taken from the website of the Bodmin and Wensford Railway, for example: File:Judyatbodminandwenfordrailway.jpg. You have tagged this as GFDL. Can I ask if you have permission from the copyright holder to do this? You can only mark this as GFDL and submit it to Wikipedia if the copyright holder (likely the photographer or the railway) has given you written permission to do so. Thanks, Gwernol 19:36, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes. Felix 14:35, 14 July 2006

Really? Can you provide evidence of that?
I further note you have marked yourself as the source of Image:17826.jpg. I am sure you did not take this photo, so you cannot be the author of this image. Please explain why you are claiming authorship of this image. Thanks, Gwernol 19:38, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

I tag 17826.jpg as GFDL since I drew a belpaire firebox on it. Felix 14:28, 14 July 2006

Felix, you can't do this. If copyright to an image is not held by you, you can't change it and claim it's your work. It's not your work, it's the original photographer's work. I will delete on sight any images that are copyright and do not fall under fair use. You need to understand copyright.— Dunc| 21:10, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Guess what? The owner of the Bodmin and Wenford Railway website said I can upload his Alfred and Judy pictures since I ask him permission. Felix 14:53, 27 July 2006
That's great. I assume you have an email from him granting permission? Did you tell him that you wanted to upload them to Wikipedia and that by granting this he essentially allows anyone to use those images on any website or publication including for commercial use? Thanks, Gwernol 20:16, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Yep. Can I upload them now? Felix 15:12, 27 July 2006
Yes. Please follow the instructions on the upload form carefully, and make sure you include the email from the webmaster in the Summary section to show that you have permission. Gwernol 20:21, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Does it mean I have to tag the images as GFDL? Felix 15:18, 27 July 2006

Yes. Why did the Culdee Fell Railway contain less information? Why won't it appear in television? It's definitly (As in a big definitly) boring having only 8 steam locos on the Culdee Fell Railway. By the way, everyone, I don't get the image copyright tags. Felix 18:06, 14 July 2006

TV Series

It's completely unfair. I want the Culdee Fell Railway to appear in television. Felix 12:46, 15 July 2006

Even if it is unfair, your individual opinion will not change the fact that it more than likely won't ever appear on TV. That's life. Instead of whinging about it, deal with it. Gonzerelli 18:40, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Yeah right. Felix 13:39, 15 July 2006 It's rubbish when the CFR won't appear in television.

Give it up, I will never deal with it. It is not life. Felix 13:53, 15 July 2006.

Fine, but you're going to be disappointed for a long time. Tom

Felix you are probably boring most people with this constant whining about the CFR why not get in touch with the makers of Thomas & Friends and ask them if they have any plans to include the CFR. Penrithguy 19:02, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Good point. Luckily, I got the audio adaptions of the original book, Mountain Engines. These can be useful to pretend that the CFR will appear in television, since in television shows, it has audio, but the adaptions have no pictures. I'm sure these can be useful. Felix 14:03, 15 July 2006.

In the episode A better view for Gordon, how did Gordon's face changes to shutting his eyes when he was about to crash through the station? Felix 14:04, 15 July 2006

They made one shot of Gordon heading for the wall with open eyes, one with shut eyes and then cut the two together. Tom

Do you know where to contact the TTTE makers? I'd better asked them to make sidestories to the first five seasons. Okay, the sidestories are:

  • Mrs. Kyndley's Christmas - Sidestory to Season 1
  • The Missing Coach - Sidestory to Season 2
  • The Magazine and Annuals adaption - sidestory to Season 3
  • All the rest of the Railway Series book adaptions - sidestory to Season 4
  • The Own Character Ideas And Images, MORE CHARACTER IDEAS and my own ideas - sidestory to Season 5

Felix 17:16, 20 July 2006

Felix, if you're unsure about copyright then please don't upload photos.

If you find some you like, you can email me with the url and I will try to ask permission from the photographer.

But you can't go pinching photos off websites, it's against the law.

I've blocked you for an hour to stop you from uploading photos, as I'll just have to delete them again. — Dunc| 18:19, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Sorry. Felix 13:17, 15 July 2006
Okay, I've unblocked you again mate but please try to understand what you can and you can't do. If you're unsure, ask someone. — Dunc| 18:25, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes. Also, I have not yet send the message to Christopher Awdry. I do have a printer, but I've nearly ran out of ink. So I had to wait for more to print out the story and the pics (for the illustrations, of course). How to tag real train photos? Felix 13:25, 15 July 2006.

I don't know about Chris Awdry.
Let's start off simply: Have you taken any photographs? — Dunc| 18:43, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Nope. I wonder if Fergus the Railway Traction Engine will come back in Season 10. Felix 13:41, 15 July 2006.

Let's hope Fergus returns. — Dunc| 18:48, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Also, let's hope the Culdee Fell Railway will appear for the very, very first time. Felix 13:47, 15 July 2006

Can I upload an image for the article LB&SCR E2 Class? Felix 13:56, 15 July 2006

Where is the image? — Dunc| 19:01, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

From [6]. It's going to be no. 32107. Felix, 14:00, 15 July 2006.

Which one? The top one is copyright (©) A.J. Willis, the bottom one is copyright (©) Mike Morant. You would have to email the owner (Mr Willis or Mr Morant) and ask permission to use their image. — Dunc| 19:06, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

I already have give permission. Felix 14:09, 15 July 2006.

The image I want to upload on the LB&SCR E2 Class article is the top one, of course. Felix 14:15, 15 July 2006

Okay, so how are you going to get in contact with A.J. Willis? — Dunc| 19:21, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

I have already contact the website. Felix 14:21, July 15 2006

And did you get a reply? What did they say? — Dunc| 19:29, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

I'll check. Felix 14:27, 15 July 2006

How come songs lasts about three minutes? Felix 16:37, 15 July 2006

Right now, I don't get the point to how to contact SEMG.org. Felix 17:04, 15 July 2006

TUGS Pictures?

Why have you unnecessarilly added pictures to tugs character pages: Ten Cents, Big Mac, OJ and Top Hat when they already had pics that I uploaded around two months ago? Foxearth

I dunno. Felix 8:27, 16 July 2006

It doesn't matter. Just use the best ones. — Dunc| 13:46, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Don't get me wrong - You've done a great job adding pictures to the other pages, I was wondering - we have three or four other list pages which require some kind of pictures to spice up the pages, so maybe look for pics of characters such as Bluenose, Burke and Blair, Coast Guard etc. and I'll help when I can. Foxearth

You mean I'm doing a great job adding pics to the other pages including Warrior, Hercules and Sunshine? Felix 12:26, 19 August 2006

I have now know the answer: it's because Gwernol removes the TUGS images I uploaded from my user page.

By the way, have I done a good job uploading pictures to tugs character pages: Warrior, Hercules and Sunshine since they have never had images? Felix 12:22, 3 August 2006

You understand why I removed them, right? As I've explained to you twice now, images that are "fair use" cannot be put on your userpage. They can only be used to illustrate an article about the subject of the image. So if you upload an image of Bluenose and tag it as fair use, you can only use that image on the article about Bluenose. It cannot go anywhere else. Gwernol 17:24, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Right. Felix 19:11, 15 August 2006

Please read Talk pages.

My colleagues and I have had to revert a number of your edits recently. This could have been avoided had you read the "Talk" pages attached to the articles.

To read a Talk page, click the "discussion" tab at the top of the screen, while you have an article open. Talk pages are used to discuss things relevant to that article, such as formatting, and correct character linking. More image questions

Felix, you've uploaded another image of the Bodmin and Wenford railway website: Alfredatbodminandwenfordrailway.jpg. You claim that Roger Marks has released all copyright claims to this image. Can you provide some evidence that Mr. Marks has done this? If you cannot, the license you have provided is invalid and the image will have to be removed. Thanks, Gwernol 23:36, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Sorry. Felix 22:15, 17 July 2006

Um, "sorry" is not an answer. Pleas answer the question: do you have permission from Mr. Marks or not? Mr. Marks owns this image (note the copyright on it). The only way you can change the copyright is after receiving written permission from Mr. Marks. If you don't have that you must remove the image from Wikipedia immediately. Please either remove the image or show that you have permission. I am going to remove the image now since there is serious doubt about its legality. If you do have permission, then you can reupload the image after you have shown evidence of that permission.
You cannot upload any image you find on the web unless you have got permission first or you are certain it is in the public domain. Gwernol 11:54, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

I forgot to give permission. I'll do it right away. Felix 9:23, 18 July 2006

I already send a message to Roger Marks. Felix 9:30, 18 July 2006

Okay, I instead contact the Bodmin and Wenford Railway to ask permission to upload Alfred and Judy pics for the article Bagnall 0-4-0ST "Alfred" and "Judy". Felix 10:53, 26 July 2006

Do I always ask permission before uploading images? Felix 16:48, 26 July 2006

Yes. Every image you upload has to have individual permission from the copyright holder. Gwernol 22:38, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Thomas the Bachmann Model and Friends

Can I create the article Thomas the Bachmann Model and Friends? Felix 15:45, 18 July 2006

Is this something you made up, or does the TV series actually exist? If it exists, you have to provide reliable sources that show it does. Thanks, Gwernol 20:54, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

No. Captain Punjab made these. Felix 15:56, 18 July 2006

One last time. You cannot add information to Wikipedia that you or someone else just made up. It isn't true. There is no such TV series, so you cannot add it to Wikipedia. I am going to delete this article. Please stop doing this, as its vandalism and if you continue you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thanks, Gwernol 20:58, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes. Sorry. Felix 16:01, 18 July 2006

Mind if I contact Captain Punjab? I need him to broadcast his Bachmann Model series on TV. If these became a popular TV show, I'll create an article for them. Felix 16:12, 18 July 2006

Contact him if you must. He's just some guy right? Not a TV executive at a major studio who has negotiated the rights from Bachmann and HIT for tens of millions of dollars. Has he spent years developing scripts, hiring actors, and model makers to create the series? Has he negotiated the rights to show this on a TV channel? Some guy who puts up a website is NOT going to just make and broadcast a TV series, is he? Please try to stay at least vaguely realistic. Gwernol 21:17, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Does it mean I have to win a lottery in order to get money for him? Felix 16:19, 18 July 2006

May be worth producing an article on Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends models, but note that Hornby Railways produce them for the UK market [7], Bachmann for the US [8]. — Dunc| 21:48, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

How? Felix 18 July 2006

Making the information about Thomas the Bachmann Model and Friends? Felix 16:56, 18 July 2006

No, call it Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends models. Maybe you can find out about W.V. Awdry's original models as well.
PS. Have you got my email? — Dunc| 21:58, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

I don't know. Felix 17:05, 18 July 2006

Oh for crying out loud...
It seems as though your sole reason for wanting things to be written/televised is so that they can be put on Wikipedia. TtBMaF is nothing more than a series Captain Punjab made up and uploaded for friends of his. There are plenty of TTTE fan series out there which are not canon and should not be Wiki-fied. Why is this case any different? Thehalford 06:41, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Thehalford, I've heard of you. You did the voice of Edward in the audio adaption of the book Twin Engines. How come Truro did the voice of James in the adaptions. Jim522 usually did James in the redubs. Felix 21:08, 19 July 2006

Truro did the voice of James because the person casting wanted him to. No other reason. Thehalford 04:02, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

I've heard of you, Thehalford. You definitely did Edward the Blue Engine in the audio adaption of the Twin Engines book. Felix 9:30, 20 July 2006

Can Captain Punjab make more TtBMaF episodes following the one called Percy's Branch Line? I sure want to see Bachmann Gordon and Henry in the series. Felix 14:22, 1 August 2006

Felix, Instead of asking on here where I am sure no one will know the answer to your question try and find out how to get in touch with this Captain Punjab guy and ask him yourself Penrithguy 21:04, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

How about I create Wikipedia:Thomas the Bachmann Model and Friends? Felix 12:57, 2 August 2006

redirects

Why is the article Mavis the Quarry Diesel redirect to Railway engines (Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends)? Felix 21:51, 19 July 2006

If you look at WikiProject Thomas, you will see that cutting down on individual character pages is a long term goal so that there are not millions of 5 line pages out there. Mavis has been designated "not important enough to warrant her own page" and as such is being redirected to her "mass" page - that being Railway engines. Thehalford 04:01, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Culdee Fell Railway models

You will be pleased to know that models are available. Take a look at this link which is a search on eBay using the word culdee.

With your own Culdee and Godred I suggest you follow this link and purchase a digital camcorder. You can then film your own series featuring Mountain Engines, because this is probably almost definitely the only way this will happen.

This sounds like a good idea. But then, Lord Harry also. Then again, I thought ERTL was supposed to release Ernest, Wilfred, Shane Dooiney, Alaric and Eric also. That way, I could televise the CFR. Felix 9:29, 20 July 2006

I do have ERTL models of Godred, Culdee and Lord Harry all ready for televising. But then, how come ERTL never releases Ernest, Wilfred, Shane Dooiney, Alaric and Eric? Felix 9:37, 20 July 2006

Can ERTL release Ernest, Wilfred, Shane Dooiney, Alaric and Eric? Also can it release Norman, Betty, Phyllis George, Winston and Maisy, Nate and Rover (the diesels), Billy, Bonnie, Malfoy, Carl, Judy, Cassidy, Kate, Todd, Grover and Hector? I need to televise Mountain Diesels and New Engines, just after when Christopher Awdry publishes the original book (if I sent the message to him along with the story and the pics (for the illustrations). Also, I could use the ERTL model of Catherine the Coach for any engine, but I don't have it. I could use the audio adaptions of the book Mountain Engines for sound effects. Can anyone buy Catherine for me? Felix 20 July 2006, 9:46, 20 July 2006.

You sure have good ideas. Unfortunately, I won't speak when I film the CFR. My voice would sound ridiculous. Eventually, I got the Kid Works Deluxe CD-ROM. It can add dialogue by reading sentences in a story aloud. Felix 10:12, 20 July 2006

ERTL isn't making Thomas models anymore - they've been replaced with the Take-Along models. And if ERTL could make models, I quite doubt they'd make your characters specifically for you. --Patchmo 17:54, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Is ERTL still sold in the UK? Felix 12:58, 20 July 2006

I have no idea. If you really want a Catherine model, your best bet is to check Ebay. I live in the US, so I really can't help you there. Patchmo

Okay. I understood about this. Felix 13:11, 20 July 2006

I chose the ERTL CFR models for televising. Of course, before I film my own series featuring the CFR, Ernest, Wilfred, Shane Dooiney, Alaric and Eric will have to be released. Felix 10:17, 24 July 2006

Felix, ERTL are now RC2. The other mountain engines will never be released and so you will never be able to make your mountain ralway TV series. Jay

But Amos E. Wolfe suggested me to televise the CFR. I already ask ERTL to release the other mountain engines. Felix 12:04, 25 July 2006

There's nothing to stop you making a fan movie and putting it online (assuming HIT didn't object). Perhaps you could adapt second-hand Ertl models to create the other characters. Ertl would be unable to make the new characters. Every new character costs money to develop, and so they have to guarantee that the models would sell. They can't just make models based on one person's request. In any case, Ertl no longer produce the Thomas range. Tom

I had to televise the CFR. Felix 10:50, 28 July 2006

Fair use rationale for Image:Clivespong.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Clivespong.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Minor Characters (The Railway Series)

Hi Felix. Just wanted to say thank you for finding and adding the links for the real engines at the National Railway Museum on the Minor Characters (The Railway Series) page.

This sort of editing is really helpful to Wikipedia in general and WikiProject Thomas specifically. We welcome your constructive contributions.

However, please expect some comments from other project members about the many new pages you have created for the individual engines from the Arlesdale Railway, etc. The main aim of WikiProject Thomas is to reduce the number of small pages associated with Thomas, combining the essential information into pages of related characters. This is going to take us MUCH longer if other editors continue to add new stubs for each character. (This is a futile exercise anyway, as they will just be deleted as part of the project, so there's really no point you creating them.)

I am sure that my fellow project members would welcome your enthusiasm and assistance which could be very beneficial in completing the project more quickly. Please have a look at the WikiProject Thomas page to see how you can help us.

EdJogg 01:33, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Why didn't you add the CFR and AR (Arlesdale Railway) to this page? Felix 20:33, 22 July 2006

The culdee Fell and Arlesdale engines are detailed on the pages for the two railways and if you read Wikipedia Talk:WikiProject Thomas you would see the reasoning for why these engines do not warrant individual pages and you are aware that the ones you have created may very well be deleted Penrithguy 13:58, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Contacting the company of the ERTL Thomas models because for the need of televising

Where am I going to contact the makers who create the Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends ERTL Models? I need to ask them if they will release all the engines of the CFR (Just only Ernest, Wilfred, Shane Dooiney, Alaric, Eric, Norman, Betty, Phyllis, George, Billy, Bonnie, Maisy, Nate and Rover, Malfoy, Carl, Judy, Cassidy, Kate, Winston, Todd, Grover and Hector). Felix 20:55, 22 July 2006

First, most of these are not real engines of the CFR. They are engines you or your friends have made up. Producing a commercial model costs tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars. In order to justify these costs ERTL would have to sell many thousands of models. There is no way they can sell this many models of engines that perhaps 20 people in the world have heard of (are you personally going to buy thousands of models?). Please try to reign in these very unrealistic expectations. No-one is going to produce models, films or TV series with characters some guy called Captain Punjab made up. Only characters in books by Christopher Awdry ever have any chance of appearing anywhere and there is almost no chance Mr. Awdry will be allowed to produce further books. Please stop this pointless campaign. Thanks, Gwernol 02:18, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

At least where to contact the makes of the ERTL Thomas models? Felix 8:32, 23 July 2006

I think probably the letter I wrote to Mr. Awdry might get him to understand why most of the engines from the CFR article had been removed. Do you know why it's dull and boring having only 8 steam engines on the CFR? That's the reason why I add more engines to the article. Don't worry, if I sent the letter to him, maybe he will publish a book about them. Felix 8:39, 23 July 2006

As we have tried to tell you many times Christopher Awdry is unable to write any more Railway Series stories as much as he would like to and that is why he in recent years he has written booksd about the Wenslydale and other real heritage railways and furthermore what makes you think that Mr Awdry knows about the your Wiki edits being deleted or reveted he may not use this encyclopedia. Penrithguy 13:52, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Where to contact ERTL TTTE makers? Felix 18:58, 23 July 2006

Well, they ship the Take Along models from Exeter in the UK. When I had a problem I went there and they gave me a free playmat, butthat was because my Branchline Playset broke. Maybe they make the models also. Jay

Ertl's website is www.ertltoys.com. Simply typing "Ertl" into Google brought that up immediately, and I suggest that you try researching these things yourself in future. But I would say that your chances of getting them to produce these models are nil. Apart from anything else, Ertl do not make Thomas toys any more.
I don't understand why you think it's "boring" to "only" have eight engines on the Culdee Fell Railway. If there had been so many Mountain Railway stories that the eight characters were played out, then I could understand. But only Culdee, Godred and Lord Harry really had stories about them. That means there are five characters who haven't been properly explored - one hasn't even appeared in the books. Far from being "boring", I'd say the current 8 characters are full of potential. - Tom

You're joking, aren't you? Felix 16:02, 16 August 2006

We could ask you the same question. 84.69.89.232 21:27, 16 August 2006 (UTC)MPorter23

James the Red Engine

Is James the Red Engine based on the Class 27 loco of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway or the Austrian Goods loco of the Glasgow and South Western Railway? Felix 20:20, 23 July 2006

Technically he isn't based on either of them. Reginald Payne was responsible for James' look, and Rev. W. Awdry invented a prototype for the character based upon this. The official explanation is that he's a modified Class 27. Although it is worth noting that on Awdry's model railway, he was an Austrian Goods. Tom

I see. Are there any pics of the Austrian Goods? Because I want to upload one on the article G&SWR 'Austrian Goods' 2-6-0. By the way, have I done a good job creating the article? Felix 9:15, 31 July 2006

Chance of blocking someone from editing vandalism

Gwernol, when someone vandalizes a Wikipedia article, can you call me to block him or her? This is going to be my first chance of blocking someone from editing. Felix 9:30, 24 July 2006

Felix you cannot block anyone from editing. Only administrators can block editors. Gwernol 14:44, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

So, I want to be an administrator. Please give me a chance of blocking someone from editing, thanks. Felix 17:41, 24 July 2006

Felix, you can read about the process of becoming an administrator here. However, I would advise you against trying this. Most people who express an opinion on RfA debates expect to see around 2500 edits over at least 4-5 months (although some will vote to support with less). You are still a long way short of these goals. You would also be expected to understand most Wikipedia policies and to have demonstrated this in your editing. Frankly you currently have a fairly poor grasp of Wikipedia process and my judgement is you'd stand almost no chance of becoming an administrator right now. Gwernol 23:34, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
I dont think someone who has been blocked or warned as often as you have has any chance of ever becoming an administrator though Im not one myself so have no control over the matter Penrithguy 21:10, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

I was just demonstrating editing Wikipedia and uploading images, that's all. It's just demonstration. Felix 9:24, 4 August 2006

Please be more careful creating new articles

Felix, in the past 24 hours I've had to clear up a number of problematic edits you've made. You are creating a lot of duplicates of articles that already exist. This is a problem because it means the same subject is covered on two or more separate pages, which leads to a lot of confusion and make Wikipedia much harder to maintain.

Just a few examples. You created a page called "Claud Hamilton" when a much better page already existed at Claud Hamilton, 1st Lord Paisley. You also created a page called "Clogwyn" when there was an existing article Clogwyn Du'r Arddu that had much more information. Now you have created a Category called "American actresses" when there are already multiple categories such as "American Film Actors". This mess takes a lot of work to clear up. Please be a lot more careful about what you do. It is very easy to use the Search feature to find if pages already exits. Going round creating duplicate articles is making a mess of Wikipedia. Thanks, Gwernol 00:04, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Another problem I've noticed with your articles: Mike Mulloy, Shaun Prendergast, Nigel Anthony, etc. is that they give drastically minimal information that isn't even wirth creating an article for. Foxearth

Why did you delete the article Clive Spong? Felix 9:19, 25 July 2006

Felix, the article Clive Spong has not been deleted. Click on the link that you put in your comment and you can see the article (see how its blue, that means it links to an article. if the link is red it means there is no article). Now please address the fairly serious issues that Foxearth and I have pointed out to you above. Gwernol 14:29, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Ah, it was deleted it, and you've recreated it. I did not delete the article. The admin User:Proto did. In fact he deleted it twice, on both occasions because he believed it was a non-notable biography. This is because the article has so little information that no-one can tell whether Clive Spong is notable enough for an article. This is exactly the problem that Foxearth tells you about above. If your articles are one sentence that has little or no information about a subject they are very likely to be deleted. There are many examples of good articles on Wikipedia. For example, take a look at Hugh Laurie which has lots of detail and verifiable information. Until you have a lot of information to add about a subject, please consider not writing the article. You need to do the research to create a full biography of people like Clive Spong. Gwernol 14:35, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Okay. I've add more information about Clive Spong. Felix 9:42, 25 July 2006

Why does this talk page have a footnote saying Category: American Film Actors, Felix are you an actor? Penrithguy 17:10, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

No. Felix 12:10, 25 July 2006

Sorry, that was me. When I added a link to the Category "American Actors" it of course added this page to that category. It should now be fixed. My apologies for the oversight. Gwernol 17:19, 25 July 2006

Whoops its not fixed cos Ive done exactly the same thing Penrithguy 17:26, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

But seriously Felix why have you created a another new category this time for Railway Series illustrators asurely these people although they are probably nice peopel and did some good work in creating the world of Sodor arnt worthy of their own articles here and if they are shouldnt they be in the main TTE&F category along with the Awdrys? Penrithguy 17:27, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Whoops. Sorry. Felix 12:26, 25 July 2006

Stop creating separate articles for every last engine

Felix, you have just gone through and created articles for every one of the Culdee Fell Railway locomotives. There is absolutely no reason to do this. The articles are so short they just repeat the information that is already available on the main railway page. What's more I have already gone through this twice with you before. Creating these articles is a problem - it makes it hard to maintain the set of information about the railway and you now have articles that contain so little information they may get deleted entirely.

I notice that you have been doing this all over Wikipedia. Its a real pain and you need to:

1) Stop doing this imnmediately

2) Undo the changes you have made

I have already had to block you twice for exactly this. Please don't make me block you again. You are disrupting Wikipedia and creating a lot of pointless work for other editors. Gwernol 19:42, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Please don't block me. Felix 14:41, 25 July 2006

I already stopped. Felix 14:55, 25 July 2006

Felix, I am sure I am not the only member of WikiProject Thomas who would be quite understanding if Gwernol decided to block you permanently. Your recent activity has been diametrically opposed to the aims of our Project - namely the reduction of individual pages! This means that much less 'Thomas' information is getting to Wikipedia, as we keep having to clear up after you rather than adding new stuff. I am sure this is not what you really want.
It is a shame that the one in twenty useful edits you make (eg adding all those pictures to Minor Characters (Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends) was good) is overshadowed by the many other 'useless' ones. You recently created a category for the Arlesdale Railway, which was unnecessary, and then populated it with unnecessary new pages: Mike the red engine, Bert the blue engine, Jock the yellow engine (anyway, should have been the new engine!), Frank the diesel engine, Blister I & II, Sigrid of Arlesdale. (Only Rex the green engine existed before.) In all cases the information was already available on the Arlesdale Railway page.
Please, please, please put your boundless time and enthusiasm for 'Thomas' to good use. After you have deleted all those redundant pages you have created, and removed the links you added to them, how about seeing what WikiProject Thomas editors are up to, and join in (constructively!!). There is a lot of work still to do, and you will be welcomed. However, if you continue with the 'anti-Project' behaviour of recent times, I am sure the Project editors will be petitioning the admins to have you blocked, if only to preserve our sanity!!
Please take note of what I have said. You have had plenty of warnings. Please learn from them and start pulling in the same direction as the rest of us.
EdJogg 16:43, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Please don't block me again. Felix 12:21, 26 July 2006

Felix, the last thing I want to do is block you. But, my primary interest is in the quality of Wikipedia. If you read the wise words from EdJogg, PenrithGuy and others and take heed of them, there will be no need to block you and everyone will welcome your additions to Wikipedia. However if you continue to make disruptive edits I am prepared to block you from editing to stop you damaging the integrity of the encyclopedia. Its entirely up to you how things proceed. Gwernol 17:52, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Okay. I won't make disruptive edits again. Honest. Felix 12:50, 26 July 2006

Felix, it is generally not a good idea to ask personal questions of other editors on Wikipedia. Lord Stinker

Why did you create a page for Lord Stinker? Without trying to sound rude, you are constantly complicating things... we already have a page for Lord Stinker, on the Barges in TUGS page. This is very frustrating... the actors pages have no relevant information, there isn't much that isn't explained already. Please stop. I will try and arrange a deletion for the pages which are deemed unneccessary. Foxearth

Yes. Sorry. Felix 9:14, 27 July 2006

Songs

How come songs lasts about three minutes? One Way Ticket by LeAnn Rimes, for example, lasts about three minutes. The song is in one of the Thomas music videos the members of the Sodor Island Fansite made. Felix 9:27, 28 July 2006

Not trying to sound rude, but, what's your point? It can't be helped if songs last only about 3 minutes. And plenty of songs last more than 3 minutes - 'Baba O'Riley' by The Who and 'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen are songs that last more than two minutes. If you want to ask the person who created the video such a question, join Sodor Island Forums. --Patchmo 19:05, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Uploading the 812

Geoff Bannister said I can upload his 812 picture on the article Caledonian Railway 812 Class. Felix 10:12, 29 July 2006

I have to upload the Austrian Goods

Gwernol, is the Virtual Railroad the only web site to contact Ron Healy, since he posted the pic of an Austrian Goods loco on this web site. I need his pic to upload on the article G&SWR 'Austrian Goods' 2-6-0. Felix 18:56, 30 July 2006

Gwernol, I was curious and wondering. How does an author get a legal right to publish books? Felix 21:36, 31 July 2006

I'm assuming you're talking about producing more Railway Series/Thomas books. A first step would be to get a literary agent, as they know about publishing and publishers take more notice of authors represented by agents. You'd need permission from the copyright holders. But I should point out that the copyright holders would be very unlikely to let you produce Railway Series books - after all, they're not even allowing Christopher Awdry to publish any more, and he's a proven, experienced author with 14 Railway Series books to his name.
Tom

I just hate having the diesels reverted. Felix 13:30, 8 August 2006

How do you write a legal right to publish the book as? Felix 10:29, 7 August 2006

I've already answered that question. You need to get an agent who would have to contact the copyright holders. Please listen to what people are saying. Tom

I see. Also, I'm actually wondering how does an author get the legal right. Felix 9:19, 8 August 2006

If you write a book, then you own the copyright on it unless you sign it over to someone else or the book uses characters, settings etc. taken from another author's work. To get the legal right to use someone else's characters, settings etc., you would need to get permission from the copyright holder. But, as I say, the copyright holders would be very unlikely to give the permission to an author who is not represented by an agent or already established as a published writer, because they would not want to risk damaging their "brand". -Tom

"Official" Arlesdale Site??

Felix, well done on the making of your Arlesdale, Culdee Fell and Skarloey sites but I don't think you can call your Arlesdale one the "Official Website" as this implies that you have permission from or are in some way connecxted to the owners of the rights to the Arlesdae railway ie: HIT Enterainment or whoever else they may be. Your websityes are Fan Siters not Official Sites OK Penrithguy 17:51, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Felix,

I don't know enough about Youtube to tell you why stuff was removed.

Secondly, the plural of basis is bases, but when using it as a subject it must agree with the object of the previous verb. — Dunc| 21:37, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Although it's (though slightly) unfair Nanaki001 flagged his Sore Ga Ai Deshou music vid. (This one features TTTE clips) I have no idea why he'd do that. Felix 19:08, 2 August 2006

Everyone, here's something I'll claim

I have contacted the makers of TTTE and ask them if they are going to continue to televise more of the Railway Series books by the Awdrys (I also made sure that they'll introduce the CFR and AR), so that the book televising is successful. I also ask them if they are going to introduce Mindy (LMS Fairburn 2-6-4T) Joy and Nazz (JNR C62 4-6-4), Andrew (Barclay 0-4-0 Fireless), Lispy (LMS Royal Scot Class 4-6-0), Llanberis Lake Railway, Leo the Purple Engine (American Dockside 0-4-0), Pud'n and Hug'n (American 4-4-0), The Bible Engines (Joseph V2, Jacob A2 and brothers Jinty 3Fs), Jeff the Shinkansen, Mushi and Tulie (Furness Railway K2s), Bow Wow (LNER Class D17), Vortex (American 2-6-2), Jack (the other Jack, a Haywood Foundry 0-6-0 well tank), Shell (I decided to base him on the Class 37) and the characters from you know what. Felix 19:18, 2 August 2006

You're asking them to produce well over 100 new characters, if you include fan characters and untelevised Railway Series characters. The models cost thousands of pounds each. That's before you've factored in all the new sets that would have to be built for these characters.
It's also worth noting that engines from America, Japan etc. couldn't work on Sodor, because the railway is built to a British loading gauge.
Tom

What is the big deal? I did contact the makers and also, I want to add in fiction lines. Felix 9:56, 5 August 2006

Felix, obviously there's no big deal about you writing to the makers. But there is basically no chance that they will do what you want as a result. You don't seem to understand that. Despite the fact that many people here have told you many times over that HIT are not about to use your characters you continue to believe that they will. Please understand that you are wasting everyone's time, including your own. Thanks, Gwernol 15:06, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
By the way, Felix, you absolutely cannot add your own fictional lines and characters to Wikipedia. If you do I will block you for disruption. You have been warned about this multiple times already, and blocked for it at least twice. Thanks, Gwernol 15:08, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Stanley (aka Smudger), for example, came from America. I think nationalities do not matter. It doesn't matter whether engines work on Sodor and is from America/Japan, I just want those characters to become notable. Felix 9:59, 5 August 2006

That's a different situation because narrow gauge locomotives are built to similar loading gauges. Standard gauge locos built in the USA typically won't fit through tunnels, under bridges and next to platforms on British lines so they can't run there. Gwernol 15:06, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Who cares? I have already contacted the TV company. Felix 10:10, 5 August 2006

Well, obviously you don't care at all. However I will tell you that true railway enthusiasts do. I will also tell you that Wilbert and Christopher Awdry cared about such matters a great deal and would likely have been horrified by what you are trying to do. Gwernol 15:22, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Is the Thomas model on TV newly made? Felix 10:00, 5 August 2006

There are likely multiple Thomas models used by the TV company. To introduce new characters they'd likely have to build many models of each. Then they have to write the stories (pay multiple writers), create all the landscapes for them to run it, pay actors to voice them, pay a large film and editing crew to film them. Hundreds of people are involved in making TV programs. Gwernol 15:06, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Also, the makers did accept my idea of those characters. If the models cost thousands of pounds, I asked them to create and design models based from these characters. Felix 10:07, 5 August 2006

What do you mean, they did accept your ideas? Have they written back to you confirming that they will produce programs based on those characters? What did they say, exactly? Gwernol 15:22, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

They said "Thanks for your interests in Thomas and Friends." Felix 8:32, 6 August 2006

Felix, that is what they were bound to say it doesnt mean they are going to use your ideas and they would be very unlikely to do so they probably get many letters similar to yours asknig for new characters to be introduced into the TV series. Penrithguy 13:44, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

No. No no no no no. It's not fair. Felix 8:45, 6 August 2006

As you get older Felix, you are going to realise that life can be very unfair and I think you have to accept that your ideas for Thomas are never going to become any more than figments of your imagination Penrithguy 13:55, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

No way! I just want them to become notable. Made-up indeed. Felix 13:10, 8 August 2006

By notable I take it you mean you want them to have Wikipedia articles can I just ask WHY?? Even if they were made into tv characters they would probably end up on the Minor Characters (Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends) page and not have articles of their own

So I can add the "In Fiction" lines on each loco article. Felix 13:19, 8 August 2006

I have already contacted the makers of TTTE, thanks to User:PenrithGuy for showing me where to contact them. Felix 10:16, 5 August 2006

I have to say, I'm doubtful that tney've actually accepted the ideas. For one thing, some of those characters could get them into trouble (Bluenose is a transparent rip-off of a character from Tugs, Smokey Joe is owned by Hornby). For another, it sounds like you've simply got a list of names and engines. You don't define their personalities, explain what they do, how they fit in, what makes them stand out from the other characters or anything like that. No production company would pay someone for a bunch of undeveloped ideas from an unproven author. Tom

What? I have contacted the makers, didn't I? Felix 20:08, 5 August 2006

Yes you may have contacted them but have they replied to you? Penrithguy 01:11, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Yep. Definitely. They said thanks. Thank you, PenrithGuy, for showing me where to contact them. Felix 20:12, 5 August 2006

That's almost certainly a form letter meaning they aren't going to do anything with your ideas. They send exactly the same letter to everyone who contacts them except for the people they are going to a deal with. If they were going to use your ideas a lawyer would contact your parents with a contract offer. Until you have that you cannot ad any of this to Wikipedia. Gwernol 01:16, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

How to get a lawyer contact my parents with a contract offer? Felix 8:53, 6 August 2006

You can't just make HIT make you an offer. You're one of hundreds of people who wants to write for Thomas, and your ideas are unlikely to make it through because:
1. You're not a professional writer. You have no published works. You have no agent. If you want to become a professional writer, try here.
2. You're submitting your ideas to the general email address, not to the production department. I suspect the only way you could get the production department's details would be through an agent.
3. You're submitting ideas that are simply not developed enough to be usable. For instance, you don't describe the characters' personalities or potential storylines for them in any great detail. They would basically be paying you for a list of names, which anyone could come up with, and which is certainly not worth a writer's fee. The staff writers already employed by the series would have to do most of the work.
4. Many of the ideas you're submitting are not your own. They came from Thomascollector, Hornby and other sources. HIT have better things to do than chase twenty different creators.
Generally, it seems to me that you're just not listening to what anyone is saying to you. When someone explains to you why you can't get your characters made or your books published or whatever, you just ignore them and say things like, "it's not fair" and, "I really want it" and, "I asked them to do this". And then you ask people to do you favours like finding addresses, contacting people and answering your questions - why should they, if you're not going to listen to them? - Tom

Do professional writers write stories about characters? Felix 13:14, 8 August 2006

Yes. But as I said, they have to get permission to do so by the copyright holders or get approached by the copyright holders. I really recommend you look these things up yourself. That way, you can find out everything in one go. -Tom

Can professional writers type too? Felix 9:56, 11 August 2006

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that question. Tom

Typing on the computer, of course. Felix 9:15, 16 August 2006

Yes, I'm am sure a lot of professional writers know how to use a computer Mdcollins1984 15:45, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

I see. Felix 11:58, 16 August 2006

Actually, publishers prefer writers to type their manuscripts, because they're easier to read than handwritten submissions. Writers tend to find typing quicker than handwriting, as well as easier for making revisions and corrections. Tom

When a professional writer write a biography about a character, does it have to include the name, number and the locomotive class that he or she is based on? Felix 12:06, 22 August 2006

Basises

Felix there is no such word as "Basises" please stop using it. The plural of "Basis" is "bases" (see this page). Even leaving this aside, in the sentence: "This class of engine forms the basis of..." you should use the singular because there is only one class, even if the class contains many engines. Please try to be more careful in your editing. Thanks, Gwernol 01:19, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Uploading fanpics

Felix,

Can you please stop uploading your own edited pictures onto the mountain railway/Major/Minor Railway Series Characters pages? While you may think that they are well edited, and encyclopaedic to others they are obviously MS Paint edited photos of real engines. By all means add pictures from the TV Series and the books, if you have permission, but not from your Official Unofficial Fansite.

Also, if you insist that you add pictures, please add {clear} (with two curly brackets either side) at the end of the paragraph to ensure the page loads correctly, Mdcollins1984 08:56, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Wow, have you been to Oxbridge and fixed yourself up with a nice degree for Writing Nonsense on Wikipedia? You seriously need to get a life, for example, Christopher Awdry (or any author for that matter), would never use a character that a insignificant fan made up in five seconds on the internet. There is a thing called fanfiction for made-up characters, and if you want stories to be written about these guys, then why not join a Thomas forum and post them on there, rather than cluttering up a website like Wikipedia, which is for canonical characters, such as Thomas, Gordon, James and Percy, etc. You wouldn't find any of your characters in a written encyclopaedia, would you? Exactly, so you wouldn't find them on this one, either. --Skarloey 11:35, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Nanaki001's pics

See how Nanaki001 collected all of Arthur's faces

I see Nanaki001 had collected all screenshots of Arthur the Maroon Engine's faces from Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends, but to my knowledge, Arthur's shocked face and the one with his eyes shut weren't directly seen throughout the series. Arthur has only three note-worthy appearances (thus far):

  • The Spotless Record
  • Something Fishy
  • Fish (Season 8)

Arthur hasn't appeared in Season 9 so far and there's no episode where his faces (one shocked and the other with his eyes shut) come from. Felix 20:36, 5 August 2006

Creating separate articles

Can I create separate articles about each character from Ojamajo Doremi? Felix 19:15, 6 August 2006

If you can create articles that meet Wikipedia's strict quality standards, and contain enough encyclopedic information to make substantial pages that contain facts and not fan fiction, there is no reason why you can't. You could try expanding the Ojamajo Doremi series page first, and then see whether encyclopedic entries are strictly necessary. Would you expect to find articles about every character in a printed (book) encyclopedia? Think carefully before you act. Mdcollins1984 10:30, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Can I add Non-Chan to the page: List of characters from Ojamajo Doremi? Non-Chan isn't a made-up character. I've genuinely seen her in a Na-i-sho episode. Felix 9:16, 7 August 2006

I am afraid I don't know anything about the show itself, nor, I would imagine, would many people looking at your talk page. I suggest you add it, citing any references if you have them, and join the WikiProject refered to on that talk page and see how you can help. Mdcollins1984 14:48, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Sure. Non-Chan isn't made-up. Felix 9:55, 7 August 2006

Lists?

Sorry this might seem a little rude, but what exactly is the point of those ttteaf/railway series/tugs lists on your user page, what purpose do they serve? It looks unneccesary to be honest, I can't understand what thrill you get out of them. Also, I didn't upload pictures of the tugs San Francisco class because:

  • A) You should do it yourself if you want to see them, they're your priority not mine
and
  • B) I sincerely doubt you will find any pictures of the classes (at least not colour ones since the period TUGS is set in is the 1920's and therefore the design cannot be captured in colour) You'll be lucky to find anything, but by all means try.

Foxearth (Logged out)

Thomas and tugs are my favorites. Felix 21:12, 7 August 2006

That doesn't explain the point in the lists, they ramble, and take up a lot of space. I see you have ignored what I said about the pictures. This is totally pointless. It's like talking to a moron Foxearth

Percy the Small Engine?

Can I create individual articles for Doremi characters? Felix 9:18, 11 August 2006

Felix, first let me clarify the spam warning. You have been linking to the site of fanfiction characters all over Wikipedia. The latest is at Talk:Sodor (fictional island). You have to stop doing this. You have been given a definitive answer that you cannot include these characters on Wikipedia. If you continue to try to advertise this site by adding links to it from Talk pages, I will block you for spamming and disruption. Stop doing this.
On the question of the Ojamajo Doremi characters, you should only create separate articles for them if there is enough information about them that it won't easily fit into the main article. In other words, creating separate articles is generally a bad idea unless you have at least five paragraphs of well-sourced information for each one. You are better off starting by adding character information to the main Ojamajo Doremi article. Gwernol 14:29, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Please don't do that. I'll be good. Felix 9:30, 11 August 2006

I really did ask the webmaster permission. Felix 9:16, 11 August 2006

Images (again)

Felix,

You haven't shown me to my satisfaction that you understand copyright and how to ask permission properly.

The LNER encyclopedia mostly has photographs which the copyright status. If they want to do that, that's their problem if someone gets cross because they've stolen a photograph. We cannot do it here.

Can you email me please. Tell me what you understand. — Dunc| 17:23, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Ojamajo Doremi fan series

Skarloey, Can you, Kate669, Jim522, The Old Bean, SillyEvan, Ciremi and RustyFanatic05 come over to my house? I could use you to play the roles of Poppu Harukaze (Doremi's sister), Hana-Chan, Nozomi-Chan and Majorika, Kate669 playing the roles of Doremi, Hazuki and Aiko, RustyFanatic05 as Onpu and Momoko, The Old Bean as Jumba Jookiba, Jim522 as Pleakley, Ciremi as narrator and SillyEvan as Hairy Potty and the bee. It's because I'm planning to make my own Ojamajo Doremi fan series. Thanks, Felix 16:08, 11 August 2006

Felix, I can confirm that none of those people are going to come over to your house, because, they probably have better things to do, and they don't all live on the same continent - some live in Australia, some live in the UK, and some live in the US. And if you really want to ask them, join SiF and quit asking these silly questions on here. Patchmo 23:11, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

I'm telling you, I'm really planning out to film my Ojamajo Doremi fan series. Felix 18:01, 12 August 2006

Nobody's disputing your determination, Patchmo's just pointing out that different users live in different parts of the world. I'd suggest joining SIF if you want to request the assistance of those people, as not all of them would see your request here. Tom

I truly need those people to add dialogue to my Ojamajo Doremi fan series. Felix 9:15, 14 August 2006

Well, they can't. How are they going to get to your house? Will you pay for their travel costs? Where will they stay? Please note, simply repeating how much you want them to do it or how much you want to make this series or any variant thereof is not an answer to the questions. Why not use someone else for the voices? Or do it via email, which is how the SIF redubs are done. Whichever you choose, you ought to think about contacting them rather than simply putting the request on your talk page. You tend to embark on these projects without actually thinking about the practicalities. Tom

No they wouldn't. It's fan fiction. Go away for christ's sake you always do this! THERE WILL BE NO SEASON 2. Get used to the idea. Stop fanatasizing and get into the world of reality! Foxearth 01:47, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Editing Wikipedia

Okay, nowadays, when I edit Wikipedia, I'll have to:

1) Create new articles

2) Upload photos (if I asked the webmaster permission)

3) Discussing articles

Felix 19:26, 12 August 2006

Felix, this is still not completely right:
1) Only create new articles if there is good reason to create a separate article. In general, expand existing articles rather than create new ones. Always make sure your additions are correct, verifiable and well-written.
2) You have to ask the copyright holder's permission. This is often not the same person as the webmaster.
3) This is good: discussing changes on article talk pages is a good idea. However promoting your fan fiction or asking the same question over and over when its already been answered is a very bad idea.
Thanks, Gwernol 00:34, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Egmont

Ah well. Since Mr. Awdry can't publish the book Mountain Diesels and New Engine, how about Egmont will? Felix 19:33, 12 August 2006

That's actually a slightly more plausible suggestion since it seems that Egmont have a licensing arrangement with HIT Entertainment (as far as I can tell) so they might have the right to use those characters in future books. However as you've been told before, publishers almost never accept unsolicited ideas like yours. You can try writing to them, but my guess is you'll just get back another polite rejection letter as it appears you did from HIT. Gwernol 00:48, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

It's good Egmont has the legal right. I don't know Egmont's address. Egmont perhaps could continue the Railway Series. Felix 20:00, 12 August 2006

All I know is that they have the right to publish the existing books in the UK. This does not mean they have the right to publish any future books. They might have that right, but I don't know. Maybe Egmont could continue to publish gthe books, but consider that they haven't done so recently. This means either they don't have the right or they don't think there's a market for new books. Either way I think its extremely unlikely that you writing to them would make any difference. Good luck though, Gwernol 01:08, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

At least where to contact Egmont? Felix 20:06, 12 August 2006

Sorry I don't know. Try Googling for them. Gwernol 01:14, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

I found http://www.egmont.co.uk. It's where to contact Egmont. Felix 20:23, 12 August 2006

There is no shortage of potential Railway Series books. Christopher Awdry has written several Railway Series stories, Egmont just don't want to publish them. They aren't going to produce any new Railway Series books by anyone. Tom

I really want Egmont to publish Mountain Diesels and New Engines. Felix 9:16, 14 August 2006

Felix, please show me the written permission statement that you have from Richard Carr to post Image:11001.jpg under the GFDL. Currently the image page says that it is copyright of Richard Carr and released under the GFDL, which isn't right. Thanks, Gwernol 02:50, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends models...

Um, Felix, may I ask why you created that article? It really isn't needed, and there are articles out there on the ERTL range, Bachman range, Hornby range, and others. Before you create articles, ask yourself - 'Is this article really needed?' Sorry if this seems rude, but creating articles just to create them is rather pointless. Patchmo 19:21, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Ojamajo Doremi characters

Felix,

Why are you creating separate articles about the characters of Ojamajo Doremi? The articles you are creating have less information than the main article List of characters from Ojamajo Doremi. For example Onpu_Segawa: why does this character need a separate article?

We went through all this before with the Thomas the Tank Engine characters. I explained to you above (on more than one occasion) that you should not create separate articles on characters unless you had a substantial amount of new information. What little new you have could easily be added to the appropriate section of List of characters from Ojamajo Doremi. Are you deliberately trying to disrupt Wikipedia? Please explain exactly why you think these characters should have separate articles.

Gwernol 20:18, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

The links are red, that's all. Felix 15:17, 14 August 2006

That does not mean you should create a separate article. Now if someone wants to make a change they have to change two separate places. This adds a lot of extra work and makes it much harder for people to maintain Wikipedia. When I wrote above "Only create new articles if there is good reason to create a separate article. In general, expand existing articles rather than create new ones. Always make sure your additions are correct, verifiable and well-written." did you just ignore that? If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia like this I will block you yet again and this time it will be for much longer since you appear to be unable to follow even simple rules. Thanks, Gwernol 20:23, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Please don't. I will follow rules. Felix 15:22, 14 August 2006

Can some be redirects? Felix 15:24, 14 August 2006

Okay, I've made the individual pages redirect to List of characters from Ojamajo Doremi. Is it okay? Felix 15:39, 14 August 2006

Yes, the redirects are fine. Thanks for fixing this, Gwernol 20:58, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Gwernol

Do you know I'm planning to film my Ojamajo Doremi fan series and upload them on the net. I could use Kate669 (to be Doremi, Hazuki and Aiko), RustyFanatic05 (to be Onpu and Momoko), Skarloey (to be Poppu (Doremi's sister), Hana-Chan, Nozomi-Chan and Majorika), The OldBean (to be Jumba and Hamsterviel), Jim522 (to be Pleakley), Ryan (to be Gantu and the Care Bears), SillyEvan (to be Hairy Potty (a hairy toilet) and the bee) and Ciremi (to be the narrator) to add dialogue to the series. Felix 16:09, 14 August 2006

Yes, I read your comment above. I also read the replies you received which pointed out the flaw in your plan. How are you going to pay for the airfares for all these people who live around the globe to come to your house? How are you going to pay for the time they miss from schools and jobs? How are you going to pay for their food and hotel expenses? I'd guess this would cost you at least $100,000 just to get these people together and that's assuming they would want to take time out of their lives, which seems highly unlikely. Could you please try to remain realistic about what is possible. You need to learn that just because you want something to happen does not mean it will happen. Do not add yet another of your "but I really want it to happen" replies to this. We all know how much you want these things. Gwernol 21:17, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

I want those people because I want them to add dialogue to my series. Felix 16:27, 14 August 2006

Did you bother to read what I just wrote? I know you want them. Its not a question of what you want, we all know you want this to happen, so stop telling us over and over again. Its a matter of how can you pay for all these people to travel hundreds of thousands of miles. You do understand that these people live all over America and some of them are probably from other countries a long way away? Do you understand this? Gwernol 21:36, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Then how am I going to add dialogue to my series? Felix 18:04, 14 August 2006

Assuming you actually get round to creating a workable plot and storyline, you will need 7200 individual frames of animation, most of which will be made up of several layer and moving pieces, for just one 5-minute episode. If you ever get to that stage, then is the time to think about adding dialogue. I suggest you start by reading the article on animation and go from there. I once tried stop-motion animation using Lego and just as an example a 10-second clip at only 15 frames per second (150 frames - do the maths) with no sound took over 2 days to complete. Good Luck! --=# Amos E Wolfe talk #=- 15:05, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Admin

Can I be an administrator when the year is 2008? Felix 10:44, 15 August 2006

That's not how it works. From what I've read, in order to become an admin, you have to be nominated, or put in a request to be an admin (I think). Then the Wiki community votes on it. Check the Requests for Adminiship page for more info. Perhaps a real admin on here could better explain it, though. Patchmo 20:07, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

How about I'll became an admin in 2008? Felix 16:44, 15 August 2006

Felix, do you never read what people are trying to tell you on this the longest user talk page Ive seen because with your history of blocks and strange behaviour on wikipedia dont think you would ever be considered as an andminstrator and why do you want to become one in 2008?? Penrithguy 22:05, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

I'll stop being blocked. Felix 17:01, 15 August 2006

Why are you blocked till 2008? I wasn't aware blocks could last that long Penrithguy 22:08, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

I'll be an admin in 2008. I won't behave strangely. Honest. Felix 17:04, 15 August 2006

Ok mate whatever I'm going to give up trying to give you advice and take this page off my watchlist because nothing we say to you seems to make any difference. Im just glad you didn't include me in that list of users you want to film making some version of a TV show that I have nver even heard off and pretty sure most the people on that list havn't either Penrithguy 22:15, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

The reason you want to be a moderator is so you won't be blocked? That sounds like a good reason not to make you a moderator. To be a moderator, you have to ensure that you know and understand the rules of Wikipedia, and ensure that others follow them. It's not just a licence to do whatever you want, and if you did then you'd stop being a moderator pretty swiftly. It's not just a case of saying that you'll behave well, but a matter of showing that you can. That means obeying the rules when you make changes to articles and create new ones. Tom

Bodmin Images

The owner of the Bodmin and Wenford Railway said I can upload his red saddle tank engnine (number 19). Felix 15:36, 16 August 2006

Timothy Bateson

So Timothy Bateson does the voices of Lord Stinker and OJ from tugs. According to High Tide, a tugs episode that I've seen in YouTube, Big Mickey sounds a lot like Lord Stinker and I think Big Mickey is voice by the same actor. Felix 20:41, 16 August 2006

It's by no means certain who Timothy Bateson voices. Lord Stinker and OJ sound more like John Baddeley to me. -Tom

Culdee Fell Railway? Favorite?

According to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Thomas, why is the Culdee Fell Railway my personal favorite? Felix 13:09, 19 August 2006

Is this a quiz? Do I win a prize?? Anyway, shouldn't you know why it is your favourite? My guess is probably because you were doing a lot of work on it, and creating lots of unnecessary pages about it. If you disagree with the person who wrote that message I suggest you reply on WP:Thomas.

Blocked again

Felix I have blocked you from editing again. I have repeatedly warned you not to continue your campaign to have your fanfiction characters included on Wikipedia, particularly the Culdee Fell Railway "mountain diesels". You have been blocked at least twice for this reason before. Yet you have just posted this to the CFR talk page: "Why haven't you add Norman, Betty, Phyllis and George to the page Unfeatured characters in The Railway Series? Felix 15:42, 22 August 2006".

You specifically promised not to do this again, yet here we are, back to your old habits. You are wasting everyone's time with your repeated disruptive edits, despite the fact that you promised on multiple occasions to stop. I see that your promises are worth nothing. You are now blocked for two days. If you continue to make these edits after you return, you will be blocked without warning for 1 week on the first occasion. After that you will be blocked from ever editing Wikipedia again if you continue.

This is your absolute final warning. You will not be warned again, I will not enter into further futile discussion. We are done here. Gwernol 20:54, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Please. I'll be good. Felix 15:52, 22 August 2006

I DON'T WANT TO BE BLOCKED ANYMORE!!!!!!! Felix Cheng 14:36, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Felix, read the following very carefully.
I made it perfectly clear that you have been blocked for persistent, disruptive comments about adding your fan fiction Mountain Diesels to talk pages. You say above that you'll "be good" yet just two minutes ago you've added the comment "This is just boring having eight engines on the CFR. I WANT MORE!!!!!" to this page. I warned you above that if you continue to make these edits, you will be blocked without warning for 1 week on the first occasion. So I am now extending your block to one week starting today. It is clear that you have no intention of keeping your promises. They are meaningless. Take some time away from Wikipedia and see if you can learn the lesson. When you come back a week from now you will have one final chance. Any more nonsense from you relating to your fan fiction will earn you an immediate indefinite block without further warnings of any kind. You have exhausted everyone's patience on this matter. Gwernol 17:23, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Sorry. Felix Cheng 17:25, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

I want to be good and learn my lesson. Felix Cheng 17:35, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

You keep saying that, yet time and again you promise to be good then go back to making disruptive edits. Why should we trust that this time is any different? Gwernol 17:37, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

I'll be good. I'm honest. Felix Cheng 17:38, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

If that's true why did you promise to be good before then break your promise? Do you understand why I won't trust you again? Gwernol 17:40, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

I'll be good this time. I won't break my promise. Felix Cheng 17:43, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

I just don't want to be blocked permanently. Felix Cheng 17:58, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

I have laid out the very clear conditions under which you would be permanently blocked. Once you return from the current 1 week block it will be up to you whether you are blocked again or not. If you have any questions about the terms of this, please leave a message on my talk page. Gwernol 18:03, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Um, Gwernol. This talk page is very long. After I return to editing, can I make an Archive 1 for my talk page and you can leave messages there? Felix Cheng 18:16, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

It's good that you've realised that archiving may be a useful way to reduce the size of this talk page. However, archiving should be used for past, rather than current, discussion. Just some advice, which you can take if you like. Gonzerelli 19:03, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Can I create archives? Felix Cheng 20:05, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes, after your block has finished. Please see the instructions at WP:ARCHIVE. Gwernol 20:22, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Sure. And for example, Gwernol, Your talk page and Duncharris's have archives. Felix Cheng 20:23, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
