Hidden vandalism at Bisexuality

edit

Hey Farmercarlos. This one would be a hard one to figure out without quite a lot of experience. What happened was that a vandal defaced the template {{Sexual orientation}} with the nastiness you were seeing and that template was transcluded in the bisexuality article. Meanwhile the vandalism to that template had already been reverted. However, the bisexuality article was displaying a version of its text which was cached at a time the template was still vandalized, so the vandalism was still showing, even though it was already rectified. What I did was purge the page cache of bisexuality and Voilà. If you are still seeing the vandalism, you may need to clear your computer's own cache! Thanks for bringing this to my attention.:-)--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 23:00, 24 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

ski jump picture

edit

Hi FarmerCarlos,

I saw this picture re-posted and was wondering if you can give me more information on location, time-frame, history etc. I've written a ski-jump novel in the 1930's and love this picture!

Thanks, Rachel

Well, thanks for the kind words regarding the photo. Not much history to report on the hill, other than what is in the article. As for the picture, I went down to the hill that morning (January 23, 2010) to do some volunteer work on the outrun in preparation for the 2010 tournament. I took this picture near the 9th green on the golf course on the valley floor. If you would like more information, please be specific. If you're interested in the club, I would recommend coming to next year's tournament; most likely scheduled for February 10-11, 2012. Farmercarlos (talk) 19:19, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Getting Wikimedians to the Olympic Games

edit

Hi. I am part of an effort to get Wikimedians access to the 2016 Summer Olympics as accredited reporters and photographers. Part of this effort includes covering the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Two Wikimedians have credentials to attend these games as reporters through Wikimedia Australia. As English Wikipedia does not allow original reporting, this is largely through Wikinews with a project page found at Wikinews:Paralympic Games. If you are interested in helping to get Wikimedians to the next Summer Olympics,I'd encourage you to assist with Wikinews efforts, and also to work on all language 2012 Summer Paralympic Wikipedia articles before, during and after the Games to demonstrate a track record of success. Thank you. --LauraHale (talk) 04:53, 17 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
