Minor edits

edit

Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Al-Ahliyya Amman University, as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. --MegaSloth (talk) 23:08, 3 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for repeated insertion of copyright material and advertising in violation of the conflict of interest policy and notability guidelines. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. There are two problems with the material you have been adding to Al-Ahliyya Amman University:

  • It appears to be copied from an external source such as the University website. Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material unless a formal copyright release has been made: see Wikipedia:Copy-paste, an for more detail Wikipedia:Copyrights and Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Even if the copyright issue were resolved, the promotional tone of this material is totally unsuitable for an encyclopedia article. There are plenty of sites like Myspace and Facebook where organizations can post advertising material designed to promote themselves, but Wikipedia is not one of them; it is an encyclopedia, it requires a WP:Neutral point of view, and has a Wikipedia:Verifiability policy that "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source".

It seems clear that you are the same person as user Aauaccount (talk · contribs) and are editing on behalf of the University. In Wikipedia terms, that gives you a WP:Conflict of interest and you should read that guideline carefully. COI editing is very strongly discouraged, because a COI editor's aim to promote his organization or his client conflicts with Wikipedia's intention to build a neutral, reliably sourced encyclopedia. If after your block expires you have problems with the University article, e.g. if it contains factual inaccuracies, you should not edit it directly but suggest changes on the article talk page, declaring your interest. If you persist in adding promotional material, you will be blocked again, perhaps indefinitely.

Orphaned non-free image File:Aaul.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Aaul.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:33, 11 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
