@I dream of horses:

Thank you, my last edit on Wikipedia was in 2008. A lot for me to catch up, but it feels great to contribute again!

Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, FangQ. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Randykitty (talk) 12:21, 20 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Randykitty:

hi @Randykitty, thanks for the notes. I just want to understand the CoI policy you mentioned - the two pages I created JData and JMesh were two open-source specifications/open-standards that I created. I did not edit anything about myself, nor have any financial interest/relationship, except that I listed myself as the author on these pages. Please let me know if you have any specific editing suggestions.

Also, I noticed that you had reverted my change to the List of file formats page. If the use of external link to in the text has triggered your removal, is it possible to restore my edit while removing only the external link? the rest of the changes only include page links.
