Removed speedy deletion tag: Nokia C3 Touch and Type

Hi Faizanalivarya! Firstly, thanks for helping out in CSD areas. I just wanted to inform you that I removed the speedy deletion tag you placed on Nokia C3 Touch and Type- because: the page is not purely promotional If you have any questions or other message, please contact me. Thanks Kingpin13 (talk) 08:21, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi! =)

Hello there, this might sound very strange, but I saw by accident that your userpage is being attacked by vandals who are writing very rude comments (I have Tonyb1's talk page on my watchlist and am not sure how to remove it). If you don't mind me asking why are they being so awful to you? It doesn't look like you have done anything to deserve it.

As well, and with your permission, I could put your userpage on my watchlist (in the time between now and protection that will hopefully be given to it), so that if someone vandalises it while I am online I can revert the edit and report it. I am in the United States and so that should help keep the page guarded at times when you might be asleep. =) I promise I'm not a bad guy btw, nor will I do anything bad. =p Peace and blessings of the Prophet (peace be upon his name) be with you. =) Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie Say Shalom! 03:17, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

User page vandalism

I'm afraid I don't have any power to protect your page; I'm not an administrator, and only they are allowed to do that. What I can do is ask one to protect your page for you, so that nobody else can vandalize it. And in the meantime I'll keep it on my watchlist, too, so that I can revert it if I catch anything. But I'll ask someone tomorrow morning, soon as I'm able. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:58, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Sure and it's my pleasure - happy to be of help. Happy editing! --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:29, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Pakistani settlements

Hi. Very nice to see somebody from Pakistan on here who speaks good english! I'm currently cleaning up Category:Populated places in Pakistan. Any help would be warmly appreciated. Sadly Pakistan settlement articles are amongst the worst on wikipedia and are riddled with lists of non notable people, POV etc. .♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:15, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Pleasure

Nice to meet you. If you are interested in getting feedback on your contributions to Wikipedia, you might consult WP:ER. You might also opt in to the detailed edit counter (simply create the page, then view the results here after the page is generated the by bot), so others may rigorously review your contributions. After that, WP:ADCO might be a good step if you're interested in admin apprenticeship. Regards —Eustress talk 15:57, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Department of Sociology, University of Karachi

Hello, Faizanalivarya, and thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia!

I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you worked on, Department of Sociology, University of Karachi, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

It helps to explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the Help Desk. Thanks again for contributing! DGG ( talk ) 10:04, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

I've been working on topics like these here for several years, and we have almost never held individual academic departments notable, with the exception of a very few that are truly world famous. I'm not saying this should be the case; I'm saying this is what has been the almost invariable result here. I'd even go a little further, and say I personally would like to see it changed. But we go by consensus, not my opinion, and I don't think it will change for this one unless you have some good actually sourced evidence from published sources outside the university that it is one of the 2 or 3 premier such departments on a worldwide basis. What we usually do, is merge and redirect the page to the one for the university. I can easily do that for you. If you want to test the rule, you would do it by removing the PROD tag, and I will send it for a group discussion at AfD. The result of such discussions are a little unpredictable, but I would say the odds are less the 5% that this department will be found notable there. May I do the merge for you? I'll look here for the answer, but if I miss your reply, ping me on my user talk page., DGG ( talk ) 17:50, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Dear Friend,
With all your due respect, I would like to inform you that, this article is for the betterment of education in the world, this article is based on the original department of Sociology, its created to inform world about the history and current updates regarding University of Karachi which is largest university in Pakistan therefore it required a lot of work on it, its still in pending therefore i am currently working on it, its my humble request to all of you, please do not propose this article for deleting, I honestly understand your point however the strong reason behind it is, most of people think that Pakistan is only the terrorist country however we don't have such institutions University of Karachi has more than 55 departments and its one of the oldest university in Asia, I would be writing some where 200 articles on Pakistan, and educational institutes of the world until know you may see my contributions my notable contribution is Halifax Community Collage and I would love to learn a lot of things from you would you be kind enough to provide me your details so i can contact you because i believe that I can learn a lot from you please please please do provide me your email so minimum i can contact you if you don't feel comfortable to give me your cell.

Regards, --Faizanalivarya (talk) 16:32, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

You can email me from my user page.
Certainly there should be good articles on the many universities in Pakistan, but they are more likely to be high-quality articles if the material on each is centralized. That the universities are important in the country means they should have articles, not all the parts of them should have articles! What should have articles as the next step, is the Presidents of each major university, who are notable according to WP:PROF; they may not be the most distinguished of the faculty, but they are a safe starting point. DGG ( talk ) 20:07, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
I've also bundled Department of International Relations, University of Karachi, Department of Education, University of Karachi, Department of Bengali, University of Karachi, and Department of Persian, University of Karachi in the AfD nomination. Manicjedi (talk) (contribs) (templates) 11:38, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

Article for deletion

I've nominated the Department of Sociology, University of Karachi article you created for deletion because it does not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. You can defend the article on this page but do not remove the deletion template from the article until the discussion has been closed. Manicjedi (talk) (contribs) (templates) 17:05, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

Dear Friend,
With all your due respect, I would like to inform you that, this article is for the betterment of education in the world, this article is based on the original department of Sociology, its created to inform world about the history and current updates regarding University of Karachi which is largest university in Pakistan therefore it required a lot of work on it, its still in pending therefore i am currently working on it its my humble request to all of you, please do not propose this article for deleting, I honestly understand your point however the strong reason behind it is, most of people think that Pakistan is only the terrorist country however we don't have such institutions University of Karachi has more than 55 departments and its one of the oldest university in Asia, I would be writing some where 200 articles on Pakistan, and educational institutes of the world until know you may see my contributions my notable contribution is Halifax Community Collage, therefore to respect the moral value kindly remove that tag and if you all my self, I will do that, it required some citation i will certainly provide it in with in few mints, after providing citation, i will improve it.-- Faizanalivarya (talk) 17:44, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
That's great. Feel free to improve the article but you cannot remove the deletion nomination template until an administrator closes the deletion discussion. The issue is not a matter of lack of citation, but the fact that this is an inappropriate topic for a Wikipedia article.Manicjedi (talk) (contribs) (templates) 17:50, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
Its already being closed by an administrator earlier, kindly read the previous post therefore kindly remove the tag.--Faizanalivarya (talk) 17:53, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
That was a separate process and a different template. The admin nominated the article for deletion, then you objected. Now I have submitted it to the community to allow them to decide. Do not remove the template. Manicjedi (talk) (contribs) (templates) 17:56, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
Manicjedi is correct--I nominated it for deletion in a process, WP:PROD, for articles which someone thinks should be deleted with little likelihood of opposition; if anyone does oppose, they can stop the process. Then, if I still want to delete it, it must be discussed by the general community, and a consensus formed about what to do with it; we conduct these discussions at WP:AFD. Anyone who wishes may comment, and after 7 days a different administrator will determine what view is supported on the basis of policy. The way to combat the prejudice that may exist against Pakistan, is to write strong articles about the most important things there, not as many articles as possible. One strong article to show how significant the university is in its own country and in the world, with good supporting evidence, is worth any number of articles on its routine features. DGG ( talk ) 20:15, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
  • Message for All Dear friends, I am author of all these articles which are stated above by our friend User:Manicjedi, Its good to identify any article, I appreciated however converting professional clash into personal its not good he reported my user as Sockpuppet as you can see my profile I have created good articles as well such as Halifax Community collage and few others as well and you may see my edit counts too and I honestly respect all the rules and principles of Wikipedia and we all are here to promote and make Wikipedia good place and useful for everyone around the world, but making it personal and reporting something which I have not done its not true, and its not appreciated as well, you all my friends here justify that, Is it correct as he gave the reason which was same IP so let me tell my brother sometimes I do editing from Internet Cafe, It might possible that some one edit it, anyways IN NUT SHELL the bottom of story is, I can allow articles to be deleted however I would like to create articles on Faculties of University, because the faculties of university and let me inform all that, University of Karachi is worlds most prestigious university even current president of United States of America Barack Hussein Obama, has done few courses from university while his visit to Pakistan in his young age, therefore I would request you all to be cooperative please because its not about one individual its all about our own beloved WIKIPEDIA.--Faizanalivarya (talk) 07:06, 22 November 2011
