April 2023 edit

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Lourdes 19:13, 23 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

I understood that I have been blocked because my username suggest that I do not have an individual account but a corporate one. I was not aware of wikipedia’s username policy on corporate accounts and I wish to change my username to have an account linked to myself and not to FEBA organization. I hope my new name is in line with wikipedia’s policy. Apart from my username, the reason for my block was that I had not disclosed any conflict of interest. I am indeed an employee of FEBA and writing an article on FEBA. I was aware of the requirement to disclose this conflict of interest but it seemed relatively complicated so I wanted to do it later. I thought this was not important because my work was still a draft and not under review. I soon as I get unblocked, I will disclose any conflict of interest through the appropriate channels.

I wish to keep working on the FEBA page but to continue my work of making it more neutral and to multiply objective sources before submitting it for review.

Decline reason:

You will need to make the Terms of Use required paid editing disclosure(which is stricter than the COI policy). You may do so on this page. In this situation we usually like to know what topics the editor wants to edit about that are unrelated to their conflict of interest, as a way of demonstrating their understanding of content and sourcing guidelines. Otherwise immediately permitting you make COI related contributions would be a waste of time for everyone(including you). Please understand that Wikipedia has no interest in what an organization wants to say about itself or in what it considers to be its own history, only in what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about it, showing how it meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization. If you want to edit about other topics as a general contributor, please tell what. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 14:24, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:European Food Banks Federation (FEBA) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:European Food Banks Federation (FEBA), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. SeanTVT (talk) 11:00, 8 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
