Nice images added, and mention of italics
editHello, and thank you for adding some good images. Wikipedia style is to italicize names of paintings, maybe you can do so if you add more, thanks. The coding can be seen by looking at this edit. Mona Lisa is an example. Thanks. Randy Kryn (talk) 15:33, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks. I didn't see anything in the 'Learn to edit' guide about specifically using italics. But I can use them going forward. FBulfin (talk) 16:56, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

editHi FBulfin! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Please note that the addition of an image is not a minor edit. Celia Homeford (talk) 16:40, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
- Could you also please remove the links from the captions. The file is already linked through the image itself. it should not be linked through the caption. Celia Homeford (talk) 16:41, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. I read "Adding or removing content in an article" as relating to the text itself. But I can see how images could be included in that.
- If/when I have time I can remove links in the captions. FBulfin (talk) 17:00, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
- Do you need to add a WP:COI declaration for the Aberdeen museum? Everything you add seems to come from there. Johnbod (talk) 17:13, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks @Johnbod for flagging this. I do work for Aberdeen Archives, Gallery and Museums, and small part of my role involves uploading CC0 images to Wikimedia Common and Wikipedia. I've now created my User page and added a COI statement to it. FBulfin (talk) 09:14, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks. You do need to be cautious in adding AAGM images to articles - you should check whether the image you propose to add is the best available choice, from Commons. On general articles, it normally won't be. Some museums (Brooklyn Museum for example) have got themselves a bad reputation for spamming images, which can lead to a general drive by other editors to remove theirs. - Thanks for the advice. I'll keep that in mind. FBulfin (talk) 12:02, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
