Hello, I'm TheOldJacobite. I noticed that you recently removed content from Nightcrawler (film) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Hi. You can find the whole issue on my GDrive. Just a small part of this Protoculture article is translated from Newtype Magazine; the most was, if I'm not mistaken, from an interview Anno made somewhere in America after the airing of EVA.--User:TeenAngels1234 (talk) 11:29, 27 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

I answer here. Don't worry. Your English sounds good to me, and I'm not a native speaker.
  1. Now that you point this out to me, you're right. It's weird, though, because the other sources from the NGE Zh and En articles talk about lack of time, right? So how do we want to translate? We can write: "For various reasons, Anno abandoned the script of the twenty-fifth episode to work with a new one". Or, as I said, "The production ran so close to the deadline that the script of the twenty-fifth episode had to be abandoned to work with a new one", but with other sources that speak of time problems (eg. Schizo / Parano, Oguro style.fm commentary, and so on).
  2. As for 1.0, I'm happy. Let's hope for a successful GA review, then :)
  3. And, of course, I'm gonna write the other articles on the whole series. I want all of them to be GAs and nominate the whole series as a Good Topic here in the future.--TeenAngels1234 (talk) 17:05, 20 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
@TeenAngels1234:To make the discussion readable, I respond here, too. I think that writing like "For various reasons, Anno abandoned the script of the twenty-fifth episode to work with a new one" won’t get any trouble, but the sentence doesn’t tell readers what the reason is, and that will be a lack of information. So if you are sure the other references point out the lack of time is the direct reason for the change of script, you can write your version down for sure. p.s. Got it.I am happy to hear that you are gonna to finish all 26 episode.--EzrealChen (talk) 14:06, 21 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yeah. Well, a source can be Red Cross Book "Production": "Due to production time limits and other problems, this script was not used".--TeenAngels1234 (talk) 20:15, 21 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
That’s great.--EzrealChen (talk) 17:13, 23 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Newtype Anno statements

edit

Hello @EzrealChan, this is a bit late, but I remember you previously asked about a Newtype September 1996 interview, this excerpt:

“様々な理由で描き切れなかったけど、本来のストーリー上の25・26話(最終回)に関しては、25話はプロットまでできてました。26話はプロットの段階で放棄してしまった。”

Which you translated as:

“Because of various reasons, I was unable to draw it out, but there is something about the original version of story of episode 25 and 26 which is that the plot of (the original story of) episode 25 had already been done then, but (the original story of) episode 26 was abandoned while its plot was developing.”

Correct me if I'm wrong, but could this actually be from the June 1996 issue instead? It has this similar excerpt:

"Finally, in the course of making Eva, I got where I got for a number of reasons I could never really explain. But as far as the original stories of episodes 25 and 26 (the last ones), I managed to finish episode 25 as far as the script was concerned. Unfortunately, I had to abandon episode 26 while it was still at a very early planning stage. I’m reworking the episodes 25 and 26 that will be sold on LD [LaserDisc] and video next year, but as far as episode 26 goes, that’ll be a complete revision, so that it’ll be more ‘visual’. I’ll do it again by deconstructing the original plan."

Or is it indeed from September? Maybe from QuickJapan (later collected into Schizo/Parano?) If that's not the case I'd be thankful for the text. A friend has the September issue but I never asked him about it and I'm not sure he'll still have it. This link has an English translation, from an initial French one, if you need it, but I don't think it has the Japanese.

You also asked about the Protoculture Addicts #43 interview. It contains that translated excerpt from the November 1996 Newtype. You can find it in English here at the EvaGeeks Wiki and the Japanese source here. FelipeFritschF (talk) 08:17, 4 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

It's fine. However, can you tell me if there's anything relevant in that September 1996 issue, and if so, do you have a link to it anywhere? Thanks. FelipeFritschF (talk) 22:06, 4 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

NGE

edit

Hi, Ezreal. Sorry if I always contact you, but I have some suggestions on the article on NGE. Maybe you are busy, but, in any case, I list some doubts.

He just said that he likes shows with a soul.
This sounds dubious. In the Proposal Shinji is introduced in the first part of the episode; he just rides the Eva-01 after the temporary defeat of Raziel.
This regards just the names of the characters, but he didn't say that they have no strong link.
This also sounds dubious. I don't have the Japanese book, but in the Newtype interview, Anno said that Kaworu represents his own shadow, but not Shinji's shadow.--TeenAngels1234 (talk) 20:12, 30 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yeah. It seems that he just said: " I feel bad when I watch shows that are made sluggishly without such soul. Actually, I felt sad when I watched Nadia, which I directed, soon after watching it. I felt Nadia was too childish". So, yeah, he said that he didn't felt satisfied with Nadia basically because too childish, but didn't said to want to create something better or with a soul after it. At least in this interview.--TeenAngels1234 (talk) 10:29, 10 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
