Welcome! edit

Hello, Evie Vane, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited was Evie Vane, which appears to be an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page. If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

Speedy deletion nomination of Evie Vane edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Evie Vane, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. June 2017 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but it appears you have written or added to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Request for copy and more info please edit

Hi Alexf, can I please retrieve the deleted text for my Evie Vane article to put on my user page? I'm sorry that it didn't meet the submission requirements; I did read the requirements and was basing my article off a similar BDSM author's, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midori_(author), except trying to address the concerns noted about that article.

If you have a minute, could you possibly let me know why Midori's page meets the requirements but mine didn't? My work has been called groundbreaking by many people.

Thanks so much for all the good work you do here! Evie Vane (talk) 16:04, 29 June 2017 (UTC)EvieReply

Please ask the deleting admin (@Athaenara:). Note that autobiographies, conflicts of interest, and advertising are frowned upon.

Page restored in user space edit

Hello,

As requested, I've restored the contents of the page Evie Vane and moved it to User:Evie Vane, to allow you to find the necessary information. I've blanked the contents of the page for you to remake the user page and include material that is pertinent to user pages, and the old material can be found in the page history. Note that I consider such restorations to be important mostly for Wikipedia content license reasons (leaving a public log of attributable material); If you use any of the content on your userpage, you're encouraged to rewrite the bulk of it, use a tone that is more appropriate for a personal page, and stick to content that is befitting of user pages (see Wikipedia:User pages for guidelines on what is considered appropriate). I believe the original reasoning of deleting the page under speedy deletion criteria G11 was valid, but I see no problem if you want to use it as a reminder. --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 11:46, 1 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
