Leaderboard edit

Pharos' has had some unusual tool requests recently. Digging into why, I've discovered that most of your class is not editing Wikipedia. It is important that your students don't cram their assignment into the final week.

In order to foster greater participation I've created http://toolserver.org/~dispenser/leaderboard/; Andrea is currently leading the pack. — Dispenser 21:49, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Structure Sequence and Organization / Whelan v. Jaslow edit

Welcome. If you're looking for ideas on articles to be written by your students, I'd recommend Whelan v. Jaslow: Whelan Associates Inc. v. Jaslow Dental Laboratory, Inc., 797 F.2d 1222 (3d Cir. 1986). This is a case that established the Structure, Sequence and Orginization (SSO) approach of copyright infringement analysis for computer programs, prior to the creation of the Abstraction-Filtration-Comparison test in Computer Associates Int. Inc. v. Altai Inc.. SOO is the minority test now, but I believe it is still good law in the Third Circuit, and in any event is a highly notable copyright case.
