Dave Barry Turns 40 edit

First, thanks for contributing! Starting your own article is a great way to Be Bold! Maybe you could find a review on the book, I'm almost positive there's one out there. You could reference the review, or maybe a press release from when the book came out. Just something out there (probably from the media) that verifies the existence and topic of the book. Just make sure that your content matches the information in your reference. Hope this helps! -- Josh3580user / talk / hist 23:45, 30 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of William Kendall (Painter) edit

A tag has been placed on William Kendall (Painter) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Ironholds (talk) 02:21, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the tag to give you a chance to do so; in future you should note it is best to work on the article in your userspace so that it passes the Notability guidelines and then make it into its own page. Ironholds (talk) 02:27, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I believe so. In future it is nice to use inline citations; smaller, more specific references after specific bits of information to highlight where that particular statement came from. I'll be expanding the article and adding those meself; you can then use it as a reference piece of sorts.Ironholds (talk) 10:59, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
