O Euterpe, daughter of Mnemosyne and of Zeus, muse of music, inspiration of lyric poetry, giver of delight, your brave, bold and fair sister Clio the Muse has sworn herself to a new life and has abruptly quitted our underworld, giving us no promise to return. Assuredly, the unparallelled Clio has too many times burnt the holy oil until late into the night, but I fear her loss is more than this Commonwealth of letters can bear. Here, we are ethereal spirits wearing masks, but all the time we see how real the people are behind the masks. No doubt life will go on, but I rather think many will drop out of the Humanities desk. - Breaks can be useful, and consider the following: You're are a wonderful content editor, and the prospect of writing articles is what drew you here. Assisting at the reference desk is conditional to pleasure. Recharge your batteries, and there will be plenty of good reasons for you to return soon and dish out the kind of thoughtful, acquainted, and unobvious comments you have provided in the past. (That or enjoy your summer by reading bound books printed on paper, in the shade, a cool drink beside you, creatures chirping, a breeze in your face, and a barely audible double flute humming softly to the sound of a blazing trumpet, though distant, still very audible!) The thundering silence after an emphatic finale is music too, as is the tense silence between two movements!
