images in text and galleries

Hi. Just curious, where is the wikipedia policy about galleries not being preferred? (I'm not disputing your revert, the reason I created the gallery was just that the long infobox compromises the layout of the section below it). Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 10:42, 9 January 2017 (UTC)

G'day 1292simon, how are you!! Yeah, thanks for bringing up this information, it is much appreciated. Look, usually galleries are reserved as a last resort, if images are flooded. For example, adding a bunch of different car models, lets say for Holden Commodore (VT). We are basically showing all the different variants avaliable for the car, due to its major differences. Anyway, your moving to gallery wasn't that important, and despite it being in the long infobox (thats usually the way it goes), if the image fits, then you should insert it in the text. But hey, good to talk to you. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 11:30, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
Ahhh, thanks for the explanation. The article was previously quite flooded with images, so I appreciate that you've culled some of the duplicates.
PS Nice example with the VT! (it reminds me that, despite not being a Holden guy, I think it's one of the prettiest sedans ever made. I've always had a thing for the SS wheels. And the styling of the Senator is just perfect! I probably would have bought a VT1 manual Senator, but alas they are all autos. Ooops, sorry for my rambling...) Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 12:52, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
1292simon. No problems. I much prefer the Holden Commodore (VE) though. However, I like Mercedes-Benz vehicles mainly. My girlfriend owns a BMW Mini Cooper, so it is within BMW territory. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 03:05, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Summer Sunbeams

You clearly don't know that what made a Sunbeam Rapier (or Alpine saloon) different from a Hillman Minx or Hunter was the back end - the "fastback". Eddaido (talk) 06:49, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Fremantle

We do not need the equivalent galleries on fremantle articles - there are easily enough photos in the heritage lists that are related to fremantle - thanks JarrahTree 15:23, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

Edit regarding the Deobandi article

Hi,

You recently sent me a message regarding some edit I had made in the Deobandi article on wikipedia. As I don't remember the changes I made, I can't really do much about it. Is there a way to see the changes that I had made so I can get back to you on this? Maybe the changes were relevant also so I would like to know.

Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Srhzaidi (talkcontribs) 16:18, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

Srhzaidi, I'm very sorry, but you must have sent this message to the wrong talkpage. I made no comment on it --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 01:14, 28 May 2017 (UTC)

BMW 3 Series (E21) pics

Hi EurovisionNim. I would like to restore the photo that was removed yesterday. The reason I think it is worth having is to show the reader the different headlight configurations of the E21 (especially since the twin headlight models can be easily mistaken for an E30). Also, I would like to add a photo of the interior, if one exists on Wikimedia. What do you think?
Also, in the E36 article, what is the reasoning behind removing the hatchback photo? Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 00:11, 9 July 2017 (UTC)

1292simon, the E36 article image was already present in the gallery, so to prevent duplication, I removed the other image. Please don't restore as it is better to keep one of each file in an article. For the E21 article, please note that there is already a rear, the only difference when the car was facelifted was the twin headlight configuration. It is a very good idea to add the interior, I'll do it rightaway. Best --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 06:26, 9 July 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for your explanations. BMW E21: oops, I got mixed up with which image had been removed, sorry. I don't think there is any problem having extra pictures, but anyway I will leave it as is. I'm looking forward to the interior pic! (I couldn't find any with CC Licence) BMW E36: I agree that duplication should be avoided. But I think the 3 Series Compact section is a more useful location than down in the gallery, so I'd like to move it please. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 12:37, 9 July 2017 (UTC)

RE:A goat for you!

I think this is how you respond via Talk. Well I'm really flattered to hear, thank you very much. Although I wasn't very pleased with the recent pictures I took due to the weather. Very bright sunlight often mess up the lighting on each picture such as the 2017 Ford Focus and 2002 Vauxhall Astra. Hopefully when I encounter these cars again as it coming to Autumn the weather should be dull and cloudy which is perfect for me and can update the existing one. I focus on mostly on Vauxhalls due to being highly neglected with pictures other then the odd ones from 10 years ago or from Flickr but also focus on random cars in general to refine my standard quality of pictures. But overall thank you for the compliment. --Makizox (talk) 16:56, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Sorry about the Volkswagen Golf Mk7 edit

Reason I did it because I thought the main image should show the latest version of that car, the one that I placed on there was the 2016 facelift, I mean due to the lighting and how it all black it doesn't seem to show well. Which why I understand it got reverted, I wasn't sure if it was a good edit or not when I did it so I kinda expected it to be reverted. --Vauxford (talk) 16:56, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

Keep in mind that we already have the facelift version in the article. It is completely pointless to show it again. Please keep in mind that we aim for high quality images --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 01:43, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

True, my camera does have problem with certain lighting, it doesn't help with the car being black. I really need a new camera, like a DSLR since I outgrew my point and shoot camera. Hopefully I be getting one for Christmas. Just a question what camera do you recommend that isn't overly expensive. --Vauxford (talk) 11:16, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

Do you want me to sell you mine when I upgrade. I am going to Singapore with my dad and a couple of friends (my ex-girlfriend and her friend) and we might be able to purchase a camera for myself then I'll sell mine on eBay. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 13:44, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

Wow you really would ship that all the way to the UK? After buying it of course hopefully, If it the EOS 700D your selling I heard it a good reasonably priced all-rounder of a DSLR, nice in-between. I'm interested. --Vauxford (talk) 21:44, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

Vauxford, Consider pricing it around $850. But I can reduce on negoitation to car spotters, so you can pay $700 --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 01:21, 21 October 2017 (UTC)

That roughly £415 right? Since its in Australian dollers. --Vauxford (talk) 20:44, 21 October 2017 (UTC)

Regarding Sydney Light Rail

Hi there,

I saw you changed the image representing the Urbos 2 on the Sydney Light Rail/SLR article. I find the current image, which I resorted, is clear and has less drab. No doubt the resolution's higher, too.

Just wanted to let you know.

PS–I did some experimenting with your bouncing Wiki logo on my talk page, just so you know.

Thanks, trainsandtech (talk) 06:43, 23 October 2017 (UTC)

Trainsandtech, ha ha ha sure thing. Thanks for letting me know. No worries, but using 2 images of trams is a bit oblique and its better to show one --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 07:00, 23 October 2017 (UTC)

The camera you got for sale

So your camera is selling for about £415 correct? Like where are you gonna link the item on Ebay. and also shipping cost to United Kingdom. --Vauxford (talk) 15:25, 23 October 2017 (UTC)

Vauxford, its only October, I am going to send you a private email because I don't want others finding out. I will put it on eBay AFTER I buy the new camera. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 15:31, 23 October 2017 (UTC)

K set

Hello again,

I cropped the previous image I uploaded for the article to fix the issue of foreground distractions. The cropped image is now on the article.

Regards, trainsandtech (talk) 07:23, 28 October 2017 (UTC)

Trainsandtech, sure... consider investing in a camera. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 10:12, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I'm not a full-time photographer (I only rarely upload images for use on Wikipedia), so an iPad Pro suits me well. Perhaps I would buy something else if I took more images for use here. Thanks, trainsandtech (talk) 21:39, 28 October 2017 (UTC)

rear photos in BMW article

Hi. I would like you to please reconsider the removal of the rear view photos. The reason I added them is to clearly show the difference between the coupe, sedan, wagon and GT models, which is often hard to notice from the front view. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 09:08, 30 October 2017 (UTC)

1292simon, I tend to use the front views because it isn't mainly focused on the model. Also they have their own articles--EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 12:51, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
Ah, thanks for your reply. I guess we best agree to disagree then. Yes, it is more important that the photos in the articles for each model cover this. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 11:44, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
{u|1292simon}}, best eh. Anyway, I need to make sure I don't WACE enough time exam-ing the problems --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 13:13, 31 October 2017 (UTC)

Been a wild of a week

Been a hefty week for me, I uploaded 300+ photos most of which where I went to the NEC Classic Motor Show. Then for the past 3 days I been car spotting. I'm glad some of them are being used already, I understand the Audi Q2 rear picture was undo over the showroom one. It just a personal preference of mine witnessing them on the road. --Vauxford (talk) 18:43, 17 November 2017 (UTC)

Insertcleverphrasehere, sure sounds good. I'm at the club drinking champanage so I'd probably won't review pages when drunk. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 10:19, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

Infiniti Q30 Front View

EurovisionNim, The recent change you made, one of your reason because it was labelled as a Quality Image, now I did inspect the picture myself but comparing the two the "Quality" one was far grainier compare to mine, although mine is a bit grubbier since for some reason all new cars in my area all lives in dust and dirt but still, I don't agree with using images that has been assessed as a "Quality Image" over other images that provide better representation and quality that aren't assessed. --Vauxford (talk) 18:14, 20 December 2017 (UTC)

BMW M60 photo

Hi EurovisionNim. Just wondering if you could use your sleuthing skills to find a photo of the BMW M60 engine please? I can't find anything other than the Alpina version. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 21:40, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
