Please don’t bite me, I’m a newbie! I’m a university student in a Wikipedia Education class, and I’m currently learning how to contribute to Wikipedia. Thanks! |
Hello, Ethanzzzzzz and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students.
If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.
Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.
Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}}
on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.
We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Adam9007 (talk) 02:22, 20 March 2019 (UTC) Hey Ethan, welcome to Wikipedia! Alixthö (talk) 02:25, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Coco Tea & Juice
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Coco Tea & Juice, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- The page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. (See section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do.
- It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Cider Syrup
editYour article Cider Syrup still needs some work. Can you re-evaluate the links you have used? It is good practise to link only to subjects that add to the article, not link as much as you can.
When I started helping you, the article contained 74 links to disambiguation pages, what is extreme. Most of them were plain unlinked as it were no useful links. I have also removed the list of recipes (not suitable for the encyclopedia) and the event (looked irrelevant, once off event).
Good luck with the article! The Banner talk 08:19, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Banner. Thanks for your help. But I am doing the homework I cannot move the recipe because I have the words count. I have to keep that.Ethanzzzzzz (talk) 08:28, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- You better start looking for better content than adding an unsuitable list of recipes and irrelevant events. Ow, and try to look a bit over the USA-border for sources. The Banner talk 09:02, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
Sure. Thanks.Ethanzzzzzz (talk) 09:14, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
