May 2010 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to most of the Avril Lavigne articles, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This is particularly important when adding or changing any facts or figures and helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. ~ [ Scott M. Thanks I'm just adding the most important tv shows in which she perform Do I nesesary need to add a source? I mean I can put a youtube link of every performance but I don't know if it's ok with that plus sometimes they removed the videos and then the source won't work and won't be helpful an example SNL performance don't even let to be added on youtube.

Please don't take this to mean that I disagree with your additions (because I don't), and it's good that you actually have sources (I was actually wondering where you were getting all this information) but verifiability also comes with notability. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia which is ideally meant to only publish information collected from other publications. If there is some source that says "Song X was performed on SNL on ## date", that would be an excellent source to use. Using youtube as a source is not typically allowed since that is a site that hosts user-submitted material. However, if there is no verifiable source available, that may indicate the statement is not notable and should not be included. It might be considered trivia more than useful info--just as posting a band's full tour schedule wouldn't be the best thing to do. The tour may be notable, but specific performances are not. It's just a few things to think about while editing. And thanks for helping improve Wikipedia! =D ~ [ Scott M. Howard ] ~ [ Talk ]:[ Contribs ] ~ 01:30, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
