I agree that putting as much information into Wikipedia as possible is generally good but there are numerous companies headquartered in Kensington and Chelsea - it's the richest borough in the UK - with South Kensington, Knightsbridge, Notting Hill and Kensington High Street in it. If you're an international company and have a registered office Europe, chances are it will be in Westminster, K&C or out at Canary Wharf. In the Daily Mail building alone there are 40 companies listed (visible inside the door), across the road is Sony Music, around the corner is EMI Records (and subsidiaries), and up the road is Warners. A Google search of (suburb) and headquarters will reveal a lot more and I'd guess you'd find thousands if not tens of thousands if you did a search in Companies House. While the Daily Mail, any of the media groups, and Harrods are well known in the UK and around the world, have distinctive street frontages, and have hundreds if not thousands of employees contributing to the area, I'm not sure a representative office of an Angolan is necessarily representative of the area.Escottf (talk) 09:42, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

No worries, I have a bit of time on my hands (as I'm still looking for work in Warsaw) so decided to click on lots of things about Warsaw to learn more about the place (as a mental collector of trivia). I've burrowed down from district level and clicked on anything I didn't think I'd read yet. As I'm correcting, I'm learning a lot. As I've mentioned before, I'd rather have information to correct or improve on than no information at all - that's why Wikipedia is great. Warsaw's got so much history too. Thank you for your recent articles, including Monument to the Heroes of Warsaw, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Inline citations and did you know

I'd like to encourage you to add inline citations to your articles; it would make the eligible for Did You Know. While I know you are primarily translating content from pl wiki, doing so makes it less likely that content will be featured (since your articles are often large, a 5x expansion required for DYKs is quite difficult). I don't want to discourage you from editing - you are doing wonderful job - I just want to see if you can look for more inline cites. I and other members of WP:POLAND can help, of course. How about you ask us for help in DYKing some articles you start, let's say once or twice a week for the most interesting entries you've written in the past few days? PS. Some of your articles are stubs, not start class. A rule of thumb is <250 words. Hi Escottf! By accident I find this page and I was very suprised and touched (in the positive sense of course). It took me and my collegaues from pl.wiki a lot of work to photograph and describe all this plaques. Thanks folks! These guys did absolutely amazing work creating the Polish page I converted to English. An unusual case of not just researching and creating pages but going out to all corners of Warsaw to take photographs of the locations (of which there were a LOT). I just had to sit at my computer and guess how Google Translate had brutalised Polish ;) It's really nice knowing that as I walk down the streets of Warsaw and see these plaques, I not only know what they are, I can look up what happened easily now (and for many years, I've often wondered as there are rarely English language information at these sites). I'll make it to one of those Wikipedia meets one of these days ;) Like I said, someone did the original - I only copied it. It took time but it was still just a copy of some amazing work. Hi Escottf, I am still speechless when I realize how much effort you put into this, but I have a question regarding the title: the name of the guy was Karol Tchorek, should not be "Tchorek plaques"? "Tchorka" in our Polish article title comes from our crazy grammar of ours which typically requires "a" or "i" when the the noun answers the question "whose", "made by whom" etc. So we have "Kopiec Kościuszki" or "Muzeum Fryderyka Chopina" in Polish, but "Kościuszko Mound" and "Fryderyk Chopin Museum" in English. Hello again Boston9! That's my ignorance of Polish (still - I need to try harder). If you think Tchorek plaques is more appropriate go right ahead. I bumped into even more of the same problem with Pomnik Kościuszkowców - which in English seems to be something vaguely impossible like Kościuszko's's monument ;) When I rely on Google Translate, and my barely existent knowledge of Polish, I'm the least likely authority on anything! As for the work done - I'm still amazed at the original Polish article...and still wondering how or if it'll stay up-to-date. Just seeing how seemingly old plaques are still getting changed - with new placements on buildings, the City adding some English translations (which may help the poorly translated ones here) and completely upgraded surroundings (in the case of Gorchewska Street's) it is a little daunting! My grammar fixes may not be perfect, but most edits are usually improvements (it's unacceptable, not inacceptable). Wikipedia also isn't about keeping every single piece of information (quite the opposite normally) - even in the aviation section of it. Heathrow has moved data out or removed it altogether. Even in Warsaw, Warsaw Chopin's discount terminal has gone from a paragraph or more to a mere sentence. And I have been following the developments at Modlin, have edited, added to it, updated it, and provided many original references and sources in the first place all the way back to 2008. @Veverve:) Hi Veverve - I added a source link which is a category page on Polish Wikipedia to the Talk page. While I don't think the page will ever be updated - unless someone creates pages to some of the lost churches - I think it's an indicator of how many churches were lost during that period - especially connected with the linked article and summary. I'm not actively an editor on Wikipedia now (I was heavily involved in editing back in 2013) so am not aware of updates on those churches. If we had a category page - I don't think it would sum up the destruction that happened (admittedly in the circumstances some was politically related destruction - some was "there isn't a 'flock' left to support the upkeep of the church).
