Please Reply to AfD nomination of Indaba Music

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Indaba Music. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Indaba Music. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:09, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Am I speaking with the Editor or not? Is this the correct forum to discuss this issue?

I will edit the page to include reliable and prominent news sources. Recently I have been trying to include information throughout Wikipedia concerning a larger issue, the changes to copyright law and content creation that are undergoing in the music business. Indaba Music has been noted by the Press (look at their page - http://www.indabamusic.com/corporate/press) as the leader in this area of collaboration and content creation using Creative Commons. Like the profiles of any other related business such as Apple, this one is valid and does not warrant deletion. It has been re-created in an attempt to allow the world to access information, like any other posts. I have read the Wikipedia guidelines and feel that I have meet them. Please explain any specific concern. Talkin bout chicken (talk) 14:57, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

I removed sections that you might have deemed "promotional". Please refer me to specific sections if this is still a concern.

Thank you Talkin bout chicken (talk) 15:16, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Duplicate AfD notification by Erwin85Bot

I noticed that your bot gave a duplicate AfD notification at User talk:Yusei&Atem after I had already notified him of the AfD. I assume it isn't supposed to give a notification when one is already there, so I think it may have a bug. Calathan (talk) 01:52, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

This also happened at User talk:Stevvvv4444, although the bot notification happened after the user had removed my own notification from their talk page so perhaps nothing can be done about that. Cordless Larry (talk) 10:18, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
It's hard to do something about the latter, but Yusei&Atem shouldn't have been notified twice. I'll look into that. Thanks. --Erwin (talk) 11:01, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
I forgot about the faulty copy of Wikipedia's database on the toolserver. My bot uses that to check whether or not a user has already been notified, but apparently that's not as reliable as it should be at the moment. For the moment it will have to use the API then. --Erwin (talk) 11:03, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Who are you? I left my message at User talk:Onthegogo. Handicapper (talk) 15:23, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Re: AfD nomination of The Hunt For Gollum

I have no idea why you left a note on my user page about this article. I have neither edited nor previously even heard of this article, to the best of my knowledge. Grutness...wha? 21:17, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of article Ambarish Srivastava

Spjayswal67 (talk) 08:21, 9 February 2010 (UTC) I have provided all possible references including newspaper cuttings, Pics of all awards and certificates related to article Ambarish Srivastava still it was deleted while Ambarish Srivastava is a prominent and notable person who is a best architectural engineer of sitapur who is at topmost position as well as a prominent Hindi Auther and poet, he is the first person who got the Indira Gandhi Priydarshini Award at Sitapur, although first of all this award was awarded to mother teresa so What should be the criteria of notability? and how it should be prove as per your rules? because in our country coverage in news papers are to much important than coverage in website. now i am feeling insulting myself and it appears i am wasting my valuable time with wikipedia so i can not work with wikipedia! so bye.... for ever and it is suggested that you should review your policies in future. Sad: S. P. Jaiswal. Please delete my account!

I am slowly accumulating articles and referencing them as best I can. It wasn't covered in Library Technology Reports as far as I can see, but it was in their side publication, "Smart Libraries", which I have Referenced. I have also included a review of Liberty by "Information World Review". I appreciate your comments, as this is my first foray into developing content for Wikipedia and the associated guidelines take some getting used to.Sjritchie (talk) 02:07, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

I'm afraid I can't do anything about this, but I see you already responded on the right page. --Erwin (talk) 11:41, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

STOP your bot NOW

Erwin, your bot85 just got someone indefinitely blocked. Please stop your bot now!

Your bot left a message at the user talk page of Kmweber, an article creator. It said to please leave comments at the AFD. After he did, he was blocked. The user is banned from namespace but nobody thought of the possibility that an article creator could have insights to why an article should be kept.

As a direct result of following your bot's instructions, a person is in trouble. You should apologize to ANI (the topic is being discussed regarding article Rodney Watson), Kmweber's talk page, and possibly even to ArbCom.

I'm certain that you did not purposely cause someone to be blocked. However, you should fix problems that you caused. That is like paying for damage for a car accident (accident, not on purpose), or paying for hospital care if someone slips and falls in your store. Ipromise (talk) 08:30, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

This is ridiculous. It's a user's own job to respect any ArbCom rulings concerning himself. It's definitely not mine and most certainly not a bot's job. --Erwin (talk) 11:41, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Erwinbot

Any way to have your bot NOT warn a user who hasn't edited in a certain amount of time? Seems like every day I'm removing warnings from userpages of people who haven't edited since 2007. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 01:18, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

I'll have to modify my bot for that, but it would make sense to do. I'll try and look into it in the near future. --Erwin (talk) 17:31, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

AfD nomination

Hi! I have just written to Geschichte (talk):

You wrote: "I'm not a chess expert but I'd say that a sportsperson of this type would at least have to compete internationally to be notable, for instance in the Chess Olympiad which started during his career. I don't see that this person has." I would like to say, that, as a member of the WikiProject Chess, I have written hundreds of pages (articles or stubs) on chess players, who are notable, for example as national chess champions (see, [[1]], please.). By the way, Egil Jacobsen won twice the Danish Chess Championship. So, I do not understand your objection. --

I hope, it is only a misunderstanding. Mibelz (talk) 17:13, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, for the late reply, but I see you've already left a comment at the AfD and the article has been kept. Note that I didn't nominate it, I just notified you. --Erwin (talk) 17:31, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Help

Can you help me edit this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_theatrical_film_production_companies to follow the same format as the distributors page, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Theatrical_Film_Companies? It is a lot of work and I would appreciate your help.

Dávid Kelemen

Hello! Thank you for the message, and I try to listen in the additional ones better.--Canysp (talk) 14:49, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

multiple notification

This bot has now notified me 8 times in a row about the same afd. If it does it again, I shall block it until it gets fixed. DGG ( talk ) 02:13, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

I've blocked the bot since the count is now 15 or something like that. Tim Song (talk) 02:37, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for stopping it. Looking in the logs it seems that the bot incorrectly believed to receive a gateway error when trying to save the page. Instead it saved the page just fine each time it tried and failed due to this conceived error. Right now, I don't have the time to look into the cause of it, so I'll leave my bot down for now. --Erwin (talk) 20:15, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Would this also be the reason why random article links don't work anymore? Jwoodger (talk) 02:09, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Random page in category disabled

I added a link to several maintenance categories, (e.g. Category:Uncategorized pages), that goes to a random page in that category. It uses your tool "Random page in category". I found it very helpful, allowing me to get pages to categorize without always starting at the beginning of the alphabet or scrolling through endless lists. But yesterday it stopped working. I now get a message that says "Fatal Error: Sorry, this tool has been disabled for the English Wikipedia." Do you know why?--agr (talk) 12:20, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

User:Erwin85Bot

Is User:Erwin85Bot ever going to run again? I appreciated its count to reduce WP:QLD backlogs and had just added a new item to the maintenance box when it stopped working on the 19 May 2010. I found the instructions at User:Erwin/CatCount very difficult to comprehend and want to see if I got the new stub counter in the Wikipedia:WikiProject Queensland/Maintenance correct. - Shiftchange (talk) 08:42, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
