Disambiguation link notification for August 13 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Akintola Williams, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chief (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:19, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Nigerian molecular biologists edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Nigerian molecular biologists requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October! edit

Greetings!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.

On English Wikipedia, we would be recognizing participants in the following manner:

  • Overall winner (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)
  • Diversity winner
  • Gender-gap fillers

For further information about the contest, the recognition categories and how to participate, please visit the contest page here. For further inquiries, please leave comments on the contest talkpage or on the main project talkpage. See you around :).--Jamie Tubers (talk) 00:50, 30 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Admonition on how to improve some pages edit

Taking a walk through your page, I really appreciate your works. You are too good in what you do. Moreover, I discovered you are the brain behind the biography page of Olufemi Majekodunmi and Lanre Towry-Coker. Wow! That's a great work. Anyway, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that these two biography pages mentioned above need to be expanded and broadened. Yea, I know it's my duty also to improve those articles. But I think you are in the best position to do this job. Since 2013 and 2015 when those articles were written, up till date, there is no significant improvement. Sir, what I meant is this, you can reach out personally to the subjects and introduce yourself to them as a Wikipedia editor and contributor, stating clearly your intentions and the informations needed to improve thier article and also use the opportunity to ask for necessary images to be use also. This could be achieve by engaging them through their company's email address, location, or contacts. This is my candid opinion, sir!. Kindly please pardon my inquisitiveness and childishness. Regards. --Abiodun 16:18, 20 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi, Abiodun. Thanks for your observation regarding these two biographical articles which I created several years ago. I just saw your message because I have been unavoidably offline for a long duration lately so I decided to send you a quick reply. In general, articles can be edited by anyone using Wikipedia (either registered or unregistered) for improvement and to reveal new related information or updated existing cited information as long as the sources are from multiple reliable sources (offline or online publications). Due to my busy schedule, it will be difficult for me to regularly update every article I create. You are free to edit the articles at your own convenience. You can also watch the pages so that you can always keep track of any edit on the article and avert feasible vandalism. Please feel free to discuss this in their related talk pages. Best regards. Expertise Required edit

Hello there, I created a page on Liz Anjorin and would require assistance in the “Selected Filmography” section as some of the movies I listed are in Yoruba and require tone marks. Although I’m not Yoruba I speak and hear the Language but can not for the life of me insert proper tone marks. Thanks.Celestina007 (talk) 13:08, 20 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I've been unavoidably offline for a long period of time so I'm just seeing this. I understand the usage of Yoruba tonal marks but I may not be able to add it on the article because I am not familiar with the specific Wikipedia process. A more experienced editor can add the missing tonal marks if necessary. Thanks for your recommendation and Happy New Year in advance. -Eruditescholar (talk) 10:40, 31 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
